Men and women....It's a man's world....

Or so James Brown sings, so sweetly. But hardly, still, in many places, if we find ourselves in front of a judge for divorce. Yuk!

After it seemingly has ended........VERY ended.....

how about renewing the relationship? Remarrying/reattaching with the same person? Who hasn't heard of this intriguing life maneuver, and perhaps even considered it for themselves? Spend a little time here and elsewhere on the dating scenes, and up pop incentives a plenty. And the miracles of tincture of time and experience can have much to recommend them. In my case, the mom of our twins and I now have a wonderful friendship, a decade after separating, that seems to get better all the time. To be sure, we still can push each other's buttons, and with her being brighter than I am, it often leaves me in a man huff, in the man cave. Bravo gets to watch it all. I hate his knowing doggy smile at these times. But the bad memories must fight it out with the good. WOW!

Girl missing.....

On Bravo and my walk to the city launch, we saw a crowd, with three police vehicles, across the street. Seems a 16 YO girl has been missing since early today. No special issues that would place her at special risk, as if being a teen these days isn't enough. Parents frantic. Neiborhood and police knocking on doors. Prayers. Aa.

A history drama I watch recently

I am watching a history drama of a diligent Korean King. And as this king was the 3rd son of the former king. As in ancient Asia, mainly the position would be given to the eldest son from the wife, look, here ,also not from the son of the concubines. Position almost decided everything in ancient Asia. As Korea also adopted some tradition from China, that is Ru jia, which was thought to be founded by a Chinese scholar: Confusious.
So at the beginning, this king future to be, since he was the 3rd son only, even his teacher didn't want to teach him well. As you know, a capable brother of the eldest successor would be a big danger. So the total environment was not encouraging this 3rd son.Anyway, he grew up, with good education, and very well setup way and idea to do things. As he still showed good sign of capabilities, so that he was envied by the eldest brother. So this adult 3rd son left the capital and lived together with the poor people in a distant area.

Women and men....parenting styles.....

Sure, there are differences. We all have them, and can recall those of our parents, Ouch! Often a major cause of family strife. Therapy helps, but men often refuse. Yet, are more workable, when they do come along, if one can relate, and be firm with the BS.

Women and women...men and men... Men and women...TWINS...

Our non identice (dizygotic) girls are terrific. Very smart, creative, beautiful, caring, etc. They are best of friends, although this was different before teen years. So, I've heard it all about twins---How the have their own language, know each other's thoughts, even at great distances, and so on. Interesting, but not always true.

Loss in the family.

Could be a men/women topic, but perhaps lots of overlap. All six siblings got to talk a good deal at family dinner/breakfasts after Mom's funeral Mass and interment. Much deeper chats than usual, especially with great eulogy by youngest sister, highlighting humor and strength of our mother, who left us gently in mid nineties. Have been getting great cooperation in my role as executor of the estate. Oddly, it's leading to more closeness and revelations among us all. I've heard this from others, but sometimes I hear of further alienations, especially over assets, and old wounds---real or often merely perceived.

so... she asked
her why are you

the

poor lady told

nicely in a comforting way.
