Name that tune... aka busking or begging?

Name that tune started as a TV game show in the 1950's where contestants competed to correctly identify songs. It had gone through changes over the years, but the main part of the game had contestants stating the lowest number of notes to be played for them to identify the song. The host would then say "Name that tune."

In my travels this morning, I came to an exit on the highway where street beggars would usually stand on the corner holding signs usually stating they are homeless, some actually saying they were willing to work for food. Today, it was somewhat different. Technically, he was a beggar, but he came with a guitar and portable amplifier.

The thought came across my mind...is he a beggar or a street musician busking?
He was mumbling and I couldn't guess what song he was playing, but I considered his status as a busker and not a beggar.
I reached into my pocket and pulled out a $5 bill, folded it and when the light changed to green, I was able to roll the window down, move up, and handed it to the guy.

Five bucks is enough for breakfast at McDonalds.

DEATH, PENAL COLONY OR PRISON LIFE

What's the best method of treating convicted murderers? Should they be given life in prison, or sent away to a penal colony for hard labor, or maybe a life sentence in traditional prison. Maybe it depends on the particular case in question. If the circumstances were unclear as to the intention, but a life was taken and found guilty, perhaps prison only. Murder of a child, perhaps death penalty. Murder of anyone, which sentence and does it matter? Or maybe the death sentence should never be used as the taking of life as a punishment is behaving like the criminal.
Which punishment would make the best deterrent to crime?
What form of death should be used? Hanging, electrocution, drugs?
What about sending person to a penal colony away from normal civilisation?
Can you ever be sure of the guilty verdict?

Useless trivia

Trolling through the blogs today for use of a better word i found nothing new or of interest so I decided to post this blog of useful and or useless information.

Feel free to add your own bits as I intend to update this blog on a regular basis.

On the fleas on the back of rats...

Isn't it strange how a collection of CS members have joined in a 'clique of maturity' going around making negative comments about other members they dislike.
The beginning... A text message from a friend told me about Connecting Singles and invited me to join. The site we were on had closed.
I was greeted with comments of "We don't want your ilk around here" in reference to the site that closed.
How strange.. What ilk? I'm a newbie to an unfriendly site.
Why? You don't know me, how did I instantly qualify to be ilk?
I'm thinking, where did the few hundred of the other members go?

Greeted by:
Agentbob, Willy, dong, UnFayzed, JimNastics, bluewind37, texasgirl8585, korn, xquseme and a handful more who's names I cannot recall.

They were here weeks, possibly months before I arrived!

Got it... the 'ilk' title came from their appearance that changed the happy blogland that one was prior to them joining.

Going to other blogs and openly making negative comments to them or about other members you dislike is pretty low. Maybe gossip is important in your lives.

If you repeat a lie about someone enough, others will tend to believe you.

The quote "On the fleas on the back of rats" wasn't mine. It was said by another member and directed at me.

In Search of the Lost Soul part 1

Some people claim that they are willing to sell their soul because... they say, 'I don't believe there is anything after death, and I don't believe in the existence of a soul because it has not been scientifically proven. Besides, I believe in what I can see, touch, and feel.' That concludes their statement.

On one hand, I understand their perspective because it is known that the human body is in control most of the time, while the soul is in a state of slumber or dormancy for the most part. Therefore, we feel drawn to the present moment, and although some claim to believe in God, the soul, and an afterlife, if you know how to challenge them, you can shake their faith and make them question how much they truly believe.

And this is the weak point of humans, upon which the devil relies and grasps first. Sometimes I wonder if it is indeed true. Can the existence of the soul not be proven? Can we not feel, touch, or see a soul? Because if we were to look at things from a broader perspective, if we were to imagine for a moment that we could pose these questions about the soul... if we could treat them as objects placed on a chair and step back a bit to observe the bigger picture, as they say, or the overall picture, as we shall call it for non-English speakers... wouldn't we be able to reach the following conclusions?

We can touch the soul if we know how to do it.
We can see the soul if we know how to do it.
We can feel the soul if we know how to do it.

But for all of this, like in any mystery, the initial questions will bring forth more questions, and to obtain answers, we will need to answer a multitude of questions. But even for that, we will need to ask the right questions. Because you cannot obtain a correct answer by asking the wrong questions. So, what questions should we ask, some of you may wonder... well, here they are:

What is the soul?
How does it look?
What is it made of?
Why can't we see it (or can we?!)
Why can't we touch it (or can we?!)

In Search of the Lost Soul part 2

And now, let's see what we can do with the answers, right?

The soul is that spiritual part that most living beings have, whether they are animals, birds, or humans. (I will not comment further, as I know many will have other questions, but humans always have questions...)

The soul has the same shape as the body that carries it, only in a spiritual form.

The soul, as mentioned above, is a spiritual matter that exists in a different, yet undiscovered, form and frequency by humans, which is why its existence cannot be proven.

We cannot see it because... and here there are several reasons:
Firstly, although the human eye has the ability to see souls, the human brain has not been trained to do so.
Secondly, humans are not allowed by God (the one in whom many no longer believe but who is as real as you, me, and anyone else).
Thirdly, we could see the soul if we attempted to do so in a spiritual manner rather than a physical one (for this, observe a terminally ill person before their last moments, observe their reactions, and you will see the soul leaving them, not with your eyes but with your own soul, with the eyes of your mind, as some would say).

We can touch a soul, but again, not in the way we expect... physically, but spiritually. Look for a person when they are at their lowest point in life, speak to them from the soul (the one you believe neither you nor they have), help them cheer up, help them overcome, and you will see that although they had a sad face before, at the end of the conversation, their face will be brighter, and their eyes, which initially seemed dark, will now emit a ray of light in the darkness... that is proof that you have touched a soul, not with your body as many expect, but with your soul. Therefore, we want to know these things, but we ask the wrong questions. On the other hand, we may rely too much on the material world and too little on the spiritual one, yet we still expect answers regarding the spiritual world. The problem is that you cannot:

Ask the wrong questions and expect correct answers.

Solve spiritual problems based on solutions and laws from the material world.

I am sure that many will continue to have questions and arguments of all kinds, but I have said it in the past, and I will say it again: those who do not wish to believe will not believe, regardless of the arguments presented to them. However, those who desire to believe will search and find the necessary arguments and reasons to believe.

In conclusion, I would like to advise you to keep your soul intact and pure because that is the true 'self' within each and every one of us. The soul will continue to live even when the body can no longer do so. And if you abandon it now, or its goodness... you are giving up on yourself and the goodness that resides within you.

Thank you for your attention and time, and may you have a beautiful life."

A day without Trump is like...

Impossible. Not going to happen. If you've been following the news lately, you can see the man is unhinged. Everyday he says something stupid or self-incriminating. Yesterday, I read he's attacked his his former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany. He claims she understated his poll numbers to Ron DeSantis by calling her "Milktoast" and many conservative republicans are saying Trump's comments have become insane, pathetic and unacceptable. Some have called his last attack “a canary in the coal mine” moment for the former president.

Last week, he claimed if elected, he will change the constitution.
Oh? I wasn't aware presidents had such powers.

He's still bumping in the night over what is and what should never be regarding documents taken from the White House. The lies exceed the truths. I read his attorneys have briefed him on the possible outcome of the investigation.

Catwalk... no updates?

It's been a busy week for me and it's not over. I've got one installation going on very well with the exception of the kitchen island. The client did a walk-thru and said it's too big. Okay, we followed the architectural dimensions, made a perspective layout. He's got a designer and general contractor involved. No problem. We're sending out a change order and making one cabinet smaller.
Next!
Another installation, in a highrise. We couldn't deliver because the elevator was broken. The elevator in the other tower was working, so my people had to carry all the cabinets, doors, and panels, across a catwalk, making double work to get the delivery done.

On the ground it was breezy, normal for the beach. The seas weren't choppy. At the top of the condo, the wind was 20 to 30 miles per hour.

Here's a view from the catwalk...

Depending on the view, it's a sea of blue and a sea of green.

My anniversary blog...

I joined Connecting Singles in July of 2018. While some people have complained that I write 3 to 4 blogs a day. I'm currently on 1,639 and lost a few when the moderators cleaned their system.

Doing some simple math of 5 years at 360 days per year or 1,800 days not counting one or two leap years total in that time period. That's less than a blog a day and not 3 to 4 as others have claimed. Amazing.

The main blog page states:
"A Blog is a journal you may enter about your life, thoughts, interesting experiences, or lessons you've learned. Post an opinion, impart words of wisdom, or talk about something interesting in your day. Update your blog on a regular basis, or just whenever you have something to say. Creating a blog is a good way to share something of yourself with others..."

Limits aren't mentioned and I'm okay with that... you should be too.
