Artists selling off their music catalogs...

I did a blog in December about Bob Dylan selling his catalog for $300 million. Today I see the Red Hot Chili Peppers reportedly sold their music catalog to the tune of $140 million.

A new name came on my radar... Hipgnosis Songs Fund.

I need to research them as it appears they are a company who buys and sells music catalogs. Interesting!

Time Travel at the speed of blues sound

Some say that it is impossible.
They claim you would have to go faster than the speed of light, which they also claim is impossible.

However, it's all relative. So, if you headed in the opposite direction as light was travelling,
relatively, you would be moving faster than light in the other direction. grin
Put that in your time machine and smoke it. laugh

While light may be important, I think sound is important also.... and right now.....or was it at a later time than
when I wrote this, or and earlier time than when you read it....
Either way, I am giving you the opportunity to transport yourself back to early July 2008 with the location being
on the shores of Lake Geneva in Switzerland for the excellent vocals and blues guitar work and while others paid to watch & listen, you get it free of charge;

A question for the Irish.....

One of my favorite Irish groups is The Corrs. One of the tunes played by them (see below) is 'Toss the Feathers'.

Do any of the Irish blogger's know what it means to 'Toss the Feathers'...?

Moody Musicians...

My first recollection of a musician who was 'difficult' to work with was guitarist Jeff Beck. His first claim to fame was with The Yardbirds in 1965 where he had been fired in the middle of their U.S. tour for consistent no-show and explosive temper.
I read stories that he went on to form The Jeff Beck Group around the end of 1966 with singer Rod Stewart and bassist Ronnie Wood who complained about being on the road eating hard boiled eggs while Beck ate steak dinners.

Next on my hit-list would be Neil Young... he's the guy who walked out on Crosby, Stills and Nash a few times. Sorry, with his unpredictable mood swings dating back to Buffalo Springfield, once would have been enough for me.

More, more... I'll think of more.
