The Hotel California lyrics trial...

In the music news, Eagles band co-founder Don Henley was in court this week over a case where he clams handwritten notes used to craft songs from the 1976 album HOTEL CALIFORNIA had been stolen and sold at auctions. Three collectibles dealers Glenn Horowitz, Craig Inciardi and Edward Kosinski are on trial in this case.

Valued at more than $1 million, the defendants knew the materials were stolen, manufactured false provenance, lied to auction houses, potential buyers and law enforcement about the origin of the manuscripts.

This all started with author Ed Sanders, who had been hired to write a biography of the Eagles, were he allegedly had stolen them in the late 1970's and is said to have sold the manuscripts to Horowitz in 2005, who then sold them to Inciardi and Kosinski.
In this case, Sanders has not been charged with a crime. However, the means by which Sanders got the notes is essentially the question at the center of the case.

Henley testified that he gave Sanders access to his handwritten notes, but he never gave the writer permanent possession.

The attorney who is representing Kosinki, stated the defense rightfully owned the material and therefore were free to sell the papers. He claimed that Henley voluntarily provided the lyrics to Sanders.

The defendants opted to forgo a jury trial and the trial is expected to last for several weeks. The verdict will ultimately be decided by the judge. Obviously a lot at stake.

Hotel California is listed as the third-best-selling album of all time, certified platinum 26 times by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) having sold more than 32 million units worldwide.

Hanky-Panky...

I was listening to a local oldies radio station on the way home from grocery shopping and the Tommy James and the Shondells song Hanky-Panky was playing. Tommy must have repeated Hanky-Panky three hundred times and my better half said "What is Hanky-Panky?"
Knowing thee are several meanings to Hanky-Panky, I told her his girlfriend plays around. It's a slang answer and she wasn't sure what I meant.
I have a language translator app in my phone and see it only gave the word (from English to Chinese) Shouyín that sounds like show-yeen. Usually translations have synonyms to words, especially if they don't have a perfect translation. I was expecting to see something like promiscuous, but Shouyín was the only word and she was very surprised the singer repeated Hanky-Panky so many times!
When I got home I tried the translation into Google and it had the same word Shouyín. But, when I reversed it from Chinese to English, the definition was m**turbation.
Depending on the source several online dictionaries had different meanings.
Fooling around, monkey business, shenanigans, flirtation, questionable or underhanded activity... all but m**turbation.
So, for two decades Tommy's baby did the m**turbation and was naive to the whole thing. Not only me... the censors of the recording industry seemed to have missed it too!

Whitney?

Last month, I bookmarked a YouTube video of Britain's Got Talent audition for a South African singer Belinda Davids and going through videos tonight, gave it another listen.
This MILF belted out a Whitney Houston song and hit the high notes actually cleaner than Whitney herself.
There are lots of Whitney covers but this talent show opened up a career for Belinda.

The Show Must Go On

It's been said that ,

"The best place for a Soldier to Die is on Battlefield on the line of duty .."

Just as ,

"The best place for an Artist to Die while Pouring his Heart and Soul in the Performance .."

Mr. Krisnakumar Kunnath , Popularly known as K K , the heart-throb Mucisian of new age ,
Has been died yesterday evening , right after his Last Live Public Performance at Kolkata ..

It was really shocking and totally unexpected for millions of his die hard fans ..
He was only 54 years old ..

The most touching thing was that , he fully Completed his Last Performance on stage even though he was feeling very sick during the whole time ..

He proved his Dedication towards his Art ..
He proved , what does it mean to be a real Artist , a true Showman ..

REST IN PEACE Dear K K , The Showman .. rose
