Snowflake micro aggression triggers...

Went to a film last night sponsored by our "Camden Conference", which like our NPR (National Proletarian Radio), claims fair and unbiased provision of info to the public, in part at taxpayer expense. It was a sore looser/manic hate feast of never Trumpism, making CNN, the major broadcast networks and MSNBC seem mild by comparison. The moderators were the usual Ivy League children of the well off, replete with the colorful faux glad rags, chic prole baubles and condescending knowing smiles. Large hall with only half a dozen attendees. They delayed film start up in the hope of better attendance, all the while discussing reasons for no shows, saying that there were many competing events. The adverts for the film were like the film itself, with every other word a conger of racist, xenophobe, anti-islam and so on. Clueless that just maybe few came out of disgust for this ueber snowflake non think. Got me thinking, about the overuse of such hate filled words and phrases everywhere in denizens of the alt left. I think the dynamic is, ceteris paribus, based on the psychological defense mechanisms of projection, reaction formation and undoing---with a little defensive smugness tossed in for good measure. The bard had it right centuries ago. Methinks, me Lord, she doth protest too much. Just sayin', peebles. Aa.

Mugabeland; Old Memories Return As Dreams and Some Nightmares all Mixed in...

Since the beginning of the latest "crisis" in Mugabeland, I have been following all the news on it and for the last 3 nights have been hard to get any sleep as so many memories keep flooding back after the light goes out; all the firefights; all the ambushes, all the near misses; all the things that went wrong and then terribly wrong especially by the use of little experienced young Rhodesians as non coms that got us lost or blundered into lethal situations by not following normal precautions such as having scouts out on flanks; to sudden evacuations of a village due to her activities all around; scenes constantly switching places as from our firebase at Mt. Darwin to suddenly the swamps inside Botswana or the Caprivy Strip; whole villages turning into blazing infernos and filled with bodies everywhere....I am amazed at so much suddenly coming back and so jumbled. Near our old firebase at Mt. Darwin, there was a small village area I recall as Bukumbura Several of from Europe used to make jokes about it and in one kaleidoscope of rather bizarre images, it had a sign as similar to the famous "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign....totally wrong and Plumtree, the proper border crossing point into Botswana, was huge swamp march filled with hippos that we had to wade through on one of our "lost patrols" thanks to a totally incompetent Rhodesian born kid in his early 20's. (he was later sent again to repeat his corporal's course...for a third time). So many weird, strange and bizarre panoramas of memories and yet some didn't change as when 4 of us were dining in a restaurant in Salisbury famous for its exotic painting of the Pink Panther in a negligee reclining on a sofa( laugh) a couple of terrs threw some molotov cocktails through the window, interrupting our usual shish kabobs...we all hit the floor and then we took the Pink Panther painting down and carried it to the kitchen to keep it safe...Police and some bystanders nailed the terrs. That was out favourite place to eat when on leave...ahh well. I find it amazing that the news from old Rhodesia still affects some of us. Our Vietnam vet carried a lot of strange dreams from his time there and just before he left Rhodesia, he started having dreams also all mixed up...I was relatively fine after about 2 years from when I left...or so I thought until a few nights ago. I guess there is no expiry date on those types of dreams/ nightmares... So many of us had put our heart and souls into the dream of Rhodesia...

French sensibilities on woman-male talk/touching....

Apparently, in light of all the recent revelations of high profile men abusing women who are less powerful, the French have weighed in. Even a few more liberal ones warn that too much political correctness could sap the normal and "healthy" interactions that can and have bordered on abuse. And now Bill Clinton is being called up on the rug. Recall how many liberals, many even women, especially his wife, looked the other way from strong evidence appearing of his abuse of women in Arkansas and the White House. Of course, his support of "therapeutic" abortion trumped just about everything. Check out Kirsten Jillebrand and others. Do as we say. VKH-Aa.

Zimbabwe’s New Cabinet Does Not Inspire Hope.

While Mr Mnangagwa has chosen to keep many of Mr Mugabe's former cabinet ministers in office, the new president has also awarded high positions to the military leaders who have previously supported him.uh oh

Zimbabwe Defense Forces Commander, General Constantine Guveya Chiwenga, is expected to become Vice President of Zimbabwe.shock

Sibusiso Moyo, the general who appeared on state TV after the military takeover and also the man who lied to the world by denying that a coup had taken place, is the new foreign minister; a very appropriate appointment, I'd say. Ah, it is also said that he holds a PhD in international relations, though I could not establish yet who awarded this degree. dunno

The head of Zimbabwe's air force, Perence Shiri, was named the minister of agriculture and land affairs. This soldier was linked to the mass killings of ordinary Zimbabweans during the mid 80s of the previous century while serving Robert Mugabe. Some 20,000 Zimbabweans died during this purge.frustrated

Patrick Chinamasa was reinstated as finance minister after Mugabe fired him a while ago.

War veteran leaders, who spearheaded mass protests to force Mugabe out of office, were also awarded positions in the cabinet. Chris Mutsvangwa is now the Information Minister while another became a deputy in the defense and security ministry.mumbling

And I suspect more military figures to be imported into the cabinet during the next few months. I think this is stage one of a few to follow. I may be a bit too skeptic about this but it does not look as if we can expect much for the better. On the contrary…sigh

But don't let small thing like this spoil your day. It is Friday.yay

President Trump and Jerusalem.

Still so glad he's our guy, considering the disasters of an unhealthy/untruthful/hubby in tow Hilary or Crazy Bernie. But while I'd personally like him to tweet less, and get coaching on some of his comments before he makes them, there isn't much he is doing that I disagree with. Till now. Apart from poor timing, and using his member of the Tribe son-in-law as the go to man on Palestine, moving our diplomats to Jerusalen is an error times two. First, Israel's Apartheid history is one of getting an inch, and taking a light year. Just look at the Tewowist Yishuv, the wall and "settlements", not to mention the probable styles and behaviors that led to millennia of persecution, ending with near erradication by Europe's priemier culture. Nuff said. But moreso, Jerusalem shouldn't be "owned" by any one or two states. A real just and lasting peace would somehow recognize that the Holy City belongs to all of us, to the world at large. For visiting, study and worship. Primary administration by the much more effective and less corruptable Jews, in conjunction with rotating large power military overseers, to keep the funny business to a minimum, perhaps---but an independent/international city nevertheless. It's clear that President Trump by this latest action will move things from decades of inertia. Good move in a real estate environment. But not in Palestine. BTW, nice place then to relocate the UN to. JACTESS.org. Salaam-shalom, Aa-VKH.
