Tante Emma

Once upon a time there were no supermarkets, but small shops in the centre of the towns and villages, often run by women and called Tante Emma Laden: Aunt Emma shop.
Then these shops started to die at the same time when cars became available to most people.
It is not so that there are no shops at all any more in the town and village centres, but usually you won't find small shops with food, e.g.
Another reason are the regulations you have to meet, when running a shop and the rent you have to pay, while formerly the shop was in the same house where the owner lived.

Another Steganography

When Arnold S. was Governor of California, one day he perceived a personal insult being aired by a legislator.

A while later, one day, a legislative bill sponsored by the same legislator that had insulted him arrived on his desk. For the reasons stated in the memo below he declined to sign it into law and also sent the offending legislator the note below.

To read his true message to the legislator, in the body of the message, read down the first letter of each line.

China and 14 South East Asian countries form Trade Block to replace TPP

RCEP Members - Australia, China, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, Brunei, Cambodia, Myanmar (Burma), Laos

Some of the US's largest trading partners are in the new RCEP. This combined with the massive increase in China's trade in 2020 leaves China as the Dominant power in the region. Good thing Trump pulled the USA out of the TPP just because Obama wanted it, huh?

Leaving China free reign to form its own trade block and massively increase its influence was yet another reason China wanted the Trump good times to continue.

Legalization of Marijuana Nation Wide

I spent 38 years of my life in Colorado, Morrison to be exact. I'm curious when will our government really start letting The People, The Citizens of our great county have out majority rule ideals be in forced and allows us as citizens get representation and law changes nationally based on what the majorities rule ideals be enforced. We the people want our legal rights back. Let's take our country back and get the law changed nationally to what the majority wants. Its time they start to listen, its not just a law that needs to be changed we the people deserve to constitutionàlly given the right to posses grow and smoke Marijuana. Not only as medical device but a recreational one as well. Compare it to the probation laws of the past. We wouldn't allow our government rule us back then, why should we allow our government rule us today. Let's as a nation take back what ours. Our constitutional right. Just like my right to own and possess a firearm. Remember we the people!!! Legalize Marijuana Nationally thanks for reading.

G7

I'm just watching Sky news,
I find it very funny that the presenter has just asked Andrew MacKinlay if he though He should rethink his euroskeptic position because and I quote
"The leader of the free world has asked David Cameron to stay on side".

The reason I find this hilarious is
1. I dont ever remember voting for a Leader of a free world,
2. The very word Free would mean that having a Political leader imposed on me is the exact opposite of Freedom.

The Group of 7 (G7) is a group consisting of the finance ministers and central bank governors of seven major advanced economies as reported by the International Monetary Fund:

The group was organised prior to the 1973 Oil crises and perhaps is now all about Gas,
Russia is suspended rather than diplomatically involved.
And now I'm listening to Obama saying this is due to Violations with
the annex of Crimea.
Whereas China with all its human rights violations has often been involved in The group as a guest member,

Not to mention Obama's lack of interest in sanctioning Israel due to its violation of rights.

With oil running short and big business running around like headless chickens. one quick look at this information may help you see the kind of closed door politics we are being misinformed about.

I am also somewhat upset at The G7 being used as a platform to drum up support for war. even though I do under stand that war is part of big business and an industrial gold mine for certain nations.

Perhaps I'm wrong but isn't This the UN's roll to dictate.

"Due to the powers vested in its Charter and its unique international character, the United Nations can take action on the issues confronting humanity in the 21st century, such as peace and security, climate change, sustainable development, human rights, disarmament, terrorism, humanitarian and health emergencies, gender equality, governance, food production, and more."
UN.org

Maybe the UN is not falling into the line of big Industry the way they were hoping to so their political puppets are trying new avenues. dunno

The double standards of the US media

Once again, the US media has demonstrated that it cannot be fair in its reporting of events, as it relates to white and coloured people.

On Wednesday 17th June in Charleston, South Carolina, a white male enters a historically Black church as members were having Bible Study and opens fire, killing 9 people. During the first 3 hours of searching for the shooter, there was no mention of his race, even though the media outlets were already privy to the fact that he was a white male.

If the shooter had been Black, Hispanic or Middle Eastern, his race would have been clearly pointed out from the get-go. It is the same narrative we saw in the coverage of the Biker's Gang shooting in Texas, the Theatre shooter in Aurora and white kids rioting. When coloured people are involved, you are bound to hear such terminologies as 'thugs, looters, thieves, etc. With white people though, what you hear is ' Oh he is mentally ill/unstable, etc'

Thank God for the advent of social media. Social media continues and will continue to expose the lopsided reporting of the established media outlets like Fox News, CNN, etc. What a shame!

Peace in the valley?

Errr... no dont think so. I recently wrote a blog expressing my puzzlement as to why several members had decided to leave CS to grieve over the illness of a fellow blog member.

The blog attracted several distasteful posts critiquing what people thought was my insensitivity on the subject. I had hoped to supply a few quotes, however upon looking for the blog in my list, I find it has been deleted.

I feel vindicated in my skepticism, as those that purported to depart either didnt, or were back blogging within a day. The subject member is now once again active on the blogs despite only 10 days ago issuing a statement that no further posts or replies would be made for a while... if ever!

I accuse no person of deliberation, however, I feel those that participated in said events have made a mockery of the blogs by inciting discord between members.
