The day of the Terminator just grew

But, if you want to see shooting stars (i.e. to wish upon),
you may want to look to the north eastern sky tonight.
It is the peak night for the Perseid Meteor Shower viewing, as long as it is not cloudy where you are.
The best viewing time is 2 am until dawn, when you may see up to
100 shooting 'stars' or more per hour.
Even if you can't be awake that early in the morning, you can probably see a few
after midnight, or even a couple after 10 pm.
The Perseid Meteor Shower is the remnants of the Comet Swift-Tuttle.
This comet is the biggest thing that the earth comes close to.
But, it orbits the sun only once every 134 years. The next time will be the year 2126.
However, earth passes through the debris trail every year.
This year should be extra good viewing, because the moon will mostly be dark
(mostly in it's 'new' moon phase) as we pass through the debris trail.
If you don't want to stay up late to see it live and in person, you can see a time lapse filming of 2016's show below;

The definition of nothing
According to perceived wisdom the entire universe came about when an object the size of a tennis ball of unimaginable intensity exploded.

I used to work for a custom cabinet shop that did a lot of projects for designers.
Typically, they would ask how soon they could get a wall unit and the boss would (sarcastically) reply "Quicker than you can write the check."
Earlier in the week, China announced they would build a 1,000 bed hospital in Wuhan city within 10 days as necessary for the corona virus.
The media in the first few days showed lots of photos and videos of earth moving equipment clearing land at the site. Several days of playing the same videos actually became annoying.
The due date is February 3. What's the update... got hospital?
Checking early today, I see the same photos from day one.
The whole world is watching.
Maybe they are on schedule, but if I were doing an update on the project I'd be using a new set of photos. Perhaps there is a holdup on funding...
Okay, later this evening, I found some updates.

averages.....
Does the universe operate on averages, or do we use averages to deceive ourselves?

I was just sorting out some items that have been randomly assigned 4 digit numbers. There was a stack of about 70 items.
I was sorting them in piles by their first digit. About half way through, I noticed that each pile had about 4 or 5 items in it while the #3 pile had none. I thought to myself about averages and is their any validity to them? The next item in the pile I was sorting was an 8, then the next one was a 3. Okay, my first 3. I thought well, that 3 stack is still low...if average may have validity, there should be more 3's coming. And wouldn't you know it, shortly afterwards, there were 3 more 3's.

Why Physics is non-reversible
I have long understood that the maths in calculations were reversible.
When it was implied if not stated out loud that the physics the maths represent was also reversible, my intuition rebelled against this notion but I could never account for a reason it could not be so.
NOW I understand why it cannot be. Entropy, It must increase.
We might reverse Time itself, but Entropy will still have to increase.
Locally entropy may be reversed, but universally entropy will still increase.
