The Christmas Cheer Blog

Christmas is a special time. This has been one hell of a year. But Christmas remains a beautiful time of year. Enjoy it. Smile. Laugh. Never forget how precious life is. We face challenges as a society and as a world, but I truly believe there is far more good than bad. It's simply a matter of fostering that good. It goes way beyond political differences. It's what makes us who we are. So here is my best wishes to everyone on CS. Have a special Christmas, and let's look forward to a future blessed with an abundance of what unites us all. God bless, and Happy Christmas,

How I live without god

Pretty well actually, and more like Christians are supposed to live, than most actual Christians, except for the going to church, praying, and believing in a god stuff. I also sometimes tend not to turn the other cheek and I don't own religious paraphernalia, like statues nor rosaries, etc....

The question was asked below (which is against blogging rules) and yet the blogger does not allow comments. laugh Rather odd.

Regardless, we ALL live without gods. Because gods don't exist. It's just that some people still BELIEVE in one god or another without ever seeing one.
Some have retained an ancient belief system passed down many generations,
originating before people had a much better understanding. Indeed, a lot of people embraced
the belief in a god, when they were a child and never rejected that belief system upon maturing. And every religion seems to think they have the right religion and have been belligerent about that. Indeed, thousands have died in wars because of their beliefs about this. crazy

Don't get me wrong, we don't thoroughly understand everything yet, and perhaps never will. But, we have a far better understanding, than when people believed in some pretty weird things like gods, human sacrifices, and that the earth was the center of the solar system. Most people have made real progress in learning. Granted, not all.

Not all people are able to grasp the concepts of science. Indeed, there is a rather broad range in any large population with regard to intelligence level. We should accept that. Reality is, that some people are geniuses and some people are 'Darwin Award' recipients. Most people fall somewhere on
the scale in between those extremes. Our current "so-called" president is a lot closer to the 'Darwin Award' end of the scale than being a "stable genius". But, higher on the scale than those who actually believed he was a genius. laugh He really had those people fooled. scold
Some actually believe that a god chose him to be president laugh a double buffoonery. rolling on the floor laughing

Hey, to each their own. Live & let live.
But, sometimes it's shocking to watch them do harm to themselves.....and others. doh

What a beautiful morning !

Embedded image from another site

The new dawn breaks this morning in both a solar and revolutionary meanings, as does the news of the impending sun setting with the demise of the worst presidency in US history.

The mail-in counts are not surprisingly almost all Biden's. After all, Trump insisted, that
his supporters vote in person. So, they took an early lead. But sanity slowly emerged as
the mail-in votes were counted. It was inevitable. The majority revolted in record numbers.
Confirmation will happen over the next few days.

For the following weeks we will hear constant whining & crying from the baby behavior "so-called" dictator wannabe and some of his delusional supporters. Trump will also likely try a variety of frivolous lawsuits and ultimately have to go through several stages, before having no choice but leave his free housing and golfing in late January as an impeached president with the worst record, responsible for an inept pandemic response, a crushed economy, record high national debt, record high inequality, and social unrest, an unenviable legacy of continued failure and corruption.

But, the healing will start. It will take a lot of time and effort to restore from the damage Trump has done. Indeed, years. But, slowly it will happen, as well as justice for the corruption Trump has been protected from, all beginning in February.
A new dawn has emerged and it has the promise of change for the better. head banger

Businesses in liberal run cities prepare for rioting on November 4th

This shouldn't really surprise anyone who has been paying attention. The George Floyd riots, violence and destruction from Antifa and BLM - almost entirely in cities run by Democrats - has gone largely unchallenged by weak and thin-skinned elected Democrats. No wonder these anarchists and terrorists have become so emboldened. Democrat Jerry Nadler referred to Antifa as a "myth" and Democrat leadership went a full 3 months before coming out and saying anything against the anarchy and violence. The truth is that many have given up on law and order, and law abiding citizens have suffered as a result. Remember that when you vote.

The Maquis de Sade

Most know of him, but who was he really? I just sloughed through a huge paperback, that included history of him and 3 books he wrote. Like Eugenie and Justine. Talk about a warped, sick mind. It appears he did not do all he wrote. He did rape a woman which got him jailed. And other jailings for porn. He was however married for years to a woman who stuck with him through it all and he had two kids with her.
What makes his writing hard to plow through, though, is he uses his male characters to write page, after page, after page that are his beliefs as to religion, laws and morality as he tries to corrupt a young innocent virgin. Skimming works!yawn doh
According to what he writes, criminal acts are forgivable. It is the victims fault. He derides the haves for not sharing their wealth. The perp has every right to take that which others have due to the fact that those who work and earn what they have, should then hand over anything the lazy criminal lacks. He justifies murder because it is natures laws. And there is no illicit act in rape, torture, sodomy, incest, child killings, or any other because what is against the law in the persons country is legal or ignored in another.
His/their views on religion is that it is all fiction and corrupt as the real world. Governments and society use it to blind people and use them, by teaching them to obey.
The ironic thing in his writings and ideas, is how much is in play in our modern societies. Criminal minds are his way...society and well off owe the criminal. They justify the crimes in their minds. Sade wrote in the 16/1700a. Sad it still rings so true today.frustrated

Childhood

Some things that happen to us in childhood can stay with us for all of our lives. When I was a small boy, I was quite badly bitten by my best friend’s pet tortoise; leaving me, to this day, with a phobia of anything that lives in a shell. Our adult personality and behaviour are, to a significant extent, shaped by things that happen to us in childhood. In some instances of a particularly traumatic event, it seems we somehow block the incident from our conscious memory, but it stays buried deep in our psyche, causing us no end of problems in later life. I often wonder what might have happened to me when I was a child, that I can’t remember. hmmm

Nature and Conservation

I am all in favour of restoring our natural environment back to its original state. No one was more pleased than I at proposals to reintroduce long absent species such as wild boar, beaver, and even wolves back into our countryside. There is, however, a point at which we must draw a line, and acknowledge that what existed centuries ago may no longer be appropriate to the modern age.

In my opinion, that point was reached when plans were announced to reinstate the once common European goblin back to its former habitat, in the area now known as the Peak District. Apart from the understandable alarm and opposition of the sheep farmers, of which there are many in the Peak district, there are other, more troubling, concerns that would stem from such a scheme.

Although the staple diet of the goblin is sheep, which is by far their preference, they will occasionally eat the odd child. Goblins are known to be a lazy species, and children tend to be more easily caught than sheep. Supporters of goblin repopulation claim that the number of children eaten would be almost negligible -two or three per year, at most- but several parents groups in the area maintain that even that would be unacceptable. I tend to agree.

Mudguards

For some months now I have had a desire to buy a bicycle, but because of increased demand during the lockdown, when it seems everyone desired a bike, all the bike shops are out of stock. This absence of opportunity to get my hands on a bike has resulted in my spending a lot of time thinking about them. I also notice people riding bikes much more than I used to.

Whenever I see a bike, the first thing I tend to notice is whether it has got mudguards. The majority of bikes one sees these days do not have mudguards. When I was young, all bikes had mudguards; they came as standard. I can only assume that mudguards are considered uncool these days. I can understand that; I have, in my time, been as big a slave to current trends as anyone. But, although I can understand it, I’m afraid I certainly cannot buy into it. In fact, I think it is plain stupid. scold

Anyone who thinks that a bike without mudguards is cooler than one with them, should consider how cool having a dark, wet stripe that extends from the top of their backside to the base of their neck is? Cool is fine, but if it comes at the expense of appearing to be an idiot, give me mudguards every time.

Put mudguards on your bicycle; you know it makes sense. professor
