Disconnecting Singles...

That's the perfect name for a (dating) site with blogs and forums just ripe for people to complain and fight!
Meanwhile, one of my email providers changed their security levels and passwords must now be eight or more characters, contain at least one number, one capital letter and one special character.
So far, it's done nothing to reduce incoming spam. That's a different issue.

The Corona Virus Fairy

She's way different from the tooth fairy; that's kidstuff. This one visits old people.

Instead of leaving money in exchange for a tooth, she spits on your dentures and sneezes into one of your adult diapers.

Anyway, I thought I was being paid a visit but it was just the person delivering my groceries. She wore a mask and gloves. I opened all doors and we didn't speak much.

Next time, I expect nothing less than a Hazmat suit.

Crying uncontrolably....

.....we fabulously wealthy racists and homophobes, who moseyed into cash a while back,---out of both fixed and equity assets, many ever Trumpsters, ---just whatever shall we do? Well, I'm also filling the oil/petrol tanks, for starters. Patience and discretion. Timing as well. Works with wealth, and with the more grounded hottie tarts. James Brown, "It's a Man's World". Wish I was clever enough to find and to post the song.

Relax

This virus pandemic thingy-thing will be but a minor blip in the the sine curve of contemporary investors.
Or will it?
We are in unchartered territory.

Don't you love the fact that there is still territory that is unchartered?

Brave New World. thumbs up

The financial "markets"...

....are making as much sense as some presidential candidates. For starters, are the huge drops over only two weeks. Record highs to solid bear market conditions. And not only in stocks, but also in bonds/rates. These usually head in opposite directions, which is the whole idea behind a "balanced, age linked, portfolio." Even more oddly, with interest rates at historic lows, the home mortgage rates seem little affected. Combine all this with falling prices for oil, and no real response to a full one trillion, that's TRILLION, of bond purchases, and other so called "quantitative easement" tricks. Never understood quite why they named it that. But I digress. Talking money heads claim that, in addition to Novid 19 overblown fears, there's a shortage of cash. What? Even less clear. Safer to stick with science. So nice to be grateful for having enough. The concept of enough is a great lesson for kids to learn. As in, I've had enough of the democrat mega pandering. Oops. And I really tried not to make this political, folks.

Job openings...

I was discussing with a business owner what will happen to his employees if/when he scales back his work force to due to a lack of work. His comment was they will most likely take on jobs making deliveries.
Most restaurants and grocery stores already have delivery service available. In the interest of safety, people would prefer having their orders delivered and not having to be subjected to crowds with long lines to get their food and supply now that they are on lockdown in many public places.
Shop by phone app, make a payment and schedule a delivery. When the truck arrives, your order is boxed and placed on your doorstep where you are alerted by text it's waiting for you.
I cancelled a routine doctor appointment this coming Sunday and the clinic said they are starting to call clients to cancel as the government mandated they go on lockdown. 20 doctors work out of that clinic and the waiting room is packed at peak times. They are implementing video doctor calls and hope to have that system up and running next week. The facility will remain open for emergencies and prescriptions will be available via phone consultation. That means the pharmacies that don't already make deliveries will begin making deliveries... job openings on the horizon.

Reading between the lines.....

....have been seeing lots of emails soliciting long retired, formerly licensed health professionals, to work again. These usually come from temp agencies, and head hunters, now and again. Placing a high demand nurse can net an agency over USD30K. Often more for other disciplines. But over the past week or so, they are flooding the inboxes. Today, a couple came in saying that in fully 32 of all 50 US states (57 if you are educated like B Hussein) are offering quick relicensure, to reenter practice. With the opioid "crisis", and for other reasons, relicensure, or just renewing an active license, has become an expensive and time consuming dreaded process. Unelected regulatory bureaucrats occupy their days with such. But to notify retirees that the process is vastly streamlined, and nearly cost free, is not exactly auspicious for the depth of this pander-demic.
