I just wish the real world was this easy

Let's cut the bullshit. Anyone can click their mouse on a default pick up line. But why can't guys step up and make a move in the real world? Is it something I'm doing?
I'm totally easy going, I know how to talk and interact, and I am not even remotely clingy or crazy or desperate.
But is it too much to ask for a guy to step up and prove they're not like all the rest?

25th CENTURY (61)

He14, wake up early to surprise them, cut fruits and gathered beneath the trees. He took an apple and entered in the stream to enjoy the cool water. Cut a small branch of it, threw it to the ground and nipped the hard flesh. The branch fell near the water and after a while passing by in front of him. He14, looked surprised. The branch sailed, he got up and followed it. He took it curious, pried it and left it on the water. Noting the progress and put the apple on the water. This balanced and began to move. He14 came out with momentum and cut several branches and fruits, entered in the stream and put them on water. Noted that some buoyed and some sinked. Experimented for a while and looked wistfully to the cave.

- <Eeei> ... shouted <eeei> ...
At the entrance were the boy twins. He14 jumped and wiggled to come quickly.
He11 looked to the inside of the cave and said <Eeei, Bo>, hastily.
They came in stream almost running.
- <Too>! He14 said triumphantly and showed them the fruit buoyed. They surprised and then embraced him excited about his discovery. They turned and looked at Alexander. He smiled and applauded rewarding the child.
He14 raised his palms of showing that he wants their attention. Cut four stick and putting the stick united the apples among them. Showed to them and put under water. The buoyancy took them to the surface.
- <Oh>! Admired and applauded.
He14 raised his hands again and then took an apple. He showed it to them smiling and gently placed it above the others four. Got crazy, clapping and slosh the water, looked at five apples with admiration and then he14 raised his palms. They stopped and waited.
- <Too> he said showing to the trees, <Too> ...

Emerged from the stream and wiggled to follow him. He went to the trees in hurry and cut branches. When had enough in his arms ran to the stream. They looked at him not understand but waiting with enthusiasm. Place the branches on the ground, put some side by side and vice versa. He pushed the raft in water; it stood for a moment and then disbanded. But it was enough for the others to understand what he wanted to do.

Simultaneously she9 and he3 left running. Returned almost immediately, she9 holding a long fibber cotton and he3 with a branch of figs tree. She9 entered the stream and put the fibber in two branches and showed the rough union. Others applauded the thought and looked at he3, he pulled some skin across the branch and demonstrated. Laughed and applauded with his thought.

Worked with fun all day and made a solid raft. Alexander watched satisfied with their inventiveness in knots. They push the raft in the water and enthusiastic cheering. It sailed and he14 jumped up and lied. They looked at him with admiration for a while and then all ran together and tried to jump on the raft. Dissolved and sunk.

where's buffalo bob and clara the cow?

Another Christmas has come and gone. But, do you remember your first Christmas? Do you remember much about when you could first speak? Yeah, me neither. But, I do remember this. Sometime in my early childhood, my mother told me what it was that I first answered when asked what I wanted for Christmas. It was 1953. I was almost age two. When Mom asked what I would like for Christmas, I answered "doody"...For those too young to know, there once was a television show that starred a red haired, freckle faced marionnette named "Howdy Doody". The Howdy Doody Show.

A soldier he is

His boots are heavy with water
the drink in his bottle just a quarter
He walks on, fearless, just with one thought
what he would feel if he would get caught

A flash of a memory of peals of laughter
of his flesh and blood his little daughter
he fights the emotions that bring tears
his mind blocking out so many fears

She must be praying for him now
he knows she must be making many a vow
his mother though old, is alert and brave
she prays day and night, for what he would save

Far away, he struggles, his comrades his strength
they must walk, bravely the whole length
this is the final, the end it must be
victory, and peace at then end they must see

the lion's flag they spot, at another hold
their courage deepens, they become more bold
"We shall free them all, We shall see an end"
he whispers to the one near him, as they near the bend

Please keep them safe, they are in service
hold them close in your prayers for the price
they pay, in braving the tortuous paths
because of them, you are here to light your hearths

WITH LOVE TO ALL THE BRAVE MEN, WHO ARE FIGHTING IN UNISON TO FREE A COUNTRY IN DESPAIR AND TURMOIL!!bouquet

hands on business

I recall an incident some years back, when I worked for a weekly newspaper in a small rural community. I was an avid fisherman and my friend, Steve, was a driven, nuts on, muskellunge hunter. Well, anyway, Steve was our lead writer at the rag. He had met a fellow, newly retired, that had settled in our tiny hamlet. Having left the bright lights of scheduled stress back east, this man was now free to spend his days (I'm not exactly what it was that he did through the nights) pursuing pleasures of his interest. His love, talent, hobby, was creating fishing lures. He would craft them in his basement shop. There were all manner of different size and style of artificial fish baits soon available for sale by this master craftsman. He had opened a small shop to sell his wares. Never one to look a new business in the mouth (the lifeblood of small newspapers is to sell advertising), Steve went to interview the new proprietor and photograph some of his various wares. He found that this man would actually forge the metal hooks and accessories himself. As well with the plastic and rubber coatings of whatever. Well, he took the pictures and wrote a story on this man and his fledgling business. The headline read "Master Baiter Open for Business". Now, we peons down at the paper loved it. But, as we were to go to press that week, the publisher stopped by and quickly put a stop to our fun. Drat! Now you tell me? How dry is "Expert Luremaker Open for Business"?

The birds and bees in a cyber world…

A little boy goes to his father and asks: “Daddy, how was I born?”

The father answers: “Well son, I guess one day you will need to find out anyway!

Your Mom and I first got together in a chat room on Yahoo.

Then I setup a date via e-mail with your Mom and we met at a cyber-cafe. We sneaked into a secluded room, where your mother agreed to a download from my hard drive.

As soon as I was ready to upload, we discovered that neither one of us had used a firewall, and since it was too late to hit the delete button, nine months later a little Pop-Up appeared that said:

You got a Male!

Quotes from the past

Perhaps it is weariness that causes the seers not to act on what they see; for whereas the wisdom of the world can be vast it includes many futilities.
Ideas do not have legs with which to run and hands with which to craft. They are wisps of smoke floating into a universe of pain and ignorance that can overwhelm the capacity of one small human body and the mind trapped inside it.
