Albertaghost: Yes any excuse to stop peace was a good one I suppose. Shame on Israel for allowing the building and shame on the Palestinians to use this as a pretext to nix the process.
In any case, how many Palestinians want to declare their statehood on the lands that Arabs have occupied since 1948 like Syria, Jordan and Egypt?
Yes the amount of building lately was going off on a creshendo and so had to be stopped now. Settlements (or Jewish neighborhoods) now almost entirely ring Jerusalem. There's not much land left for access to the Palestine part of it, or the holy basin, as is the intent of those doing the building.
They just want the lands that were lost - West Bank (formerly Jordan) and Gaza (formerly Egypt). I don't know about Syria. Maybe they will take the Golan if it were offered to them.

I think Israel wants peace that will give the settlers all they want and the Palestinians less than is required for a viable State

Hopefully, now that the Palestine Papers (leaks) have been published and more coming, the people of Palestine will demand more than Abbas settled for out of his weakness. He, or his replacement, may be able now to achieve more or go right to the one-state one wo/man one vote. I'm a dreamer, I know.

Paldi5: A lot of Arabs have the keys to grandmoms house in Tel Aviv, Haifa, etc. They pass them down through their families, so they never forget.
Someday a thread will discuss the complicated question... are the Jews safer in Israel or is diversification-diaspora the better safer way to go? Ten hydrogen bombs and it's over for 5 million Israelis. Doesn't much matter if they hold on to Ariel or the Jordan valley. Those bombs are monsters, not to mention fallout. Survivors would all have to go.
Fred
Yes I can actually see some nut bar wanting to bomb Jerusalem, one of the holiest cities of Islam, and kill five million Palestinians in the process.
The only entity that I can see doing that would be Iran as they don't give a hoot about the Palestinians as they are Shia and the Palestinians Sunni.

Paldi5: Thanks but the site was reported to be dangerous so I can't click until it is proved safe. Ask patmac to click on it.
Ok. I'll run a google bot through it to verify it's clean. will take a day or so. Of course, you will then become a member and begin posting your peace proposals and such or are you just being an idiot about this? I mean, you chided me and such and I produced doing all this work and, am willing to do more but, if this is just stupidity on your part and you have no intention of working on the site in the interests of peace I won't bother.

Paldi5: MacAfee has not yet reviewed that site.
The site is described as the Peace Now unreal portal?
No Fred, that is the page you are directed to when you enter the domain name. Similar to Connecting Singles when you enter their domain it takes you to a home page rather than connecting singles. Or when you enter google.com it takes you not to google but to a search engine field on a blank page.

Let me know Fred.
I'll get back to you on that. I spend way too much time on here so not sure if I will spend a lot of time on another site. I have not spent any time on your site yet. Just clicked briefly and noticed my McAfee warned it was not rated so I got out in a hurry.

Paldi5: What do you think of this site?
Makes sense. A nice link for Jews the world over.
"Partnering the Jewish world with the people of Israel is vital to securing the promise of our future. Nothing is more powerful than the impact of our collective action. "

The first one is rated safe by my McAfee site adviser and the site looks interesting, thanks. The second one is unrated and seems to be mainly about ads and business. I didn't stick around there or click on any internal links. Worried about safety.
I have the feeling that obscure websites become targets of hackers and spammers.
The site I provided is very hard to navigate but had some good articles and maps.
