jac379: We all keep up a facade on the forums. Who wants to share everything about themselves to remain on the internet for the whole world to see forever and ever? Who the hell wants to listen?

Just like we keep up facades at work, or with our neighbours.

Its only a few trusted people who we share more of ourselves with and that takes time and friendship.

JeanKimberley: yes some of the stuff seems like a repeat - however, one reason I enjoy returning and chatting in the forums is because there are rock solid people who comment, and keep the threads going - people that you are comfortable and enjoy their thoughts even if you heard them before. It is like returning to your hometown, or going to a party and seeing your friends returning too.

If you are serious about finding a relationship this is just a stepping stone. right?
The real work begins after you connect through the forums or through a get together or through the mailbox or flowerbox -

I think you can tell a lot about a person from their posting in the forums - don't you?
I would say yes, no and maybe~

I would say sometimes our expectations are too high. At mid-age we have our own experiences and we don't want a bitter taste again.
Everyone is mature and formed personality, no time changing better trying to cope with what you got.
Anyway at our age range, statistics say there are more singles out there so I guess our chances are good I hope.....

bblewis:

WE HAVE REACHED OUR GOLDEN YEARS , THEN WHY IS IT SO HARD TO FIND SOME ONE? EVEN THOUGH WE KNOW EXACTLY WHAT WE WANT IN A PARTNER ?

maybe u said it...."knowing exactly what we want" can be pretty limiting - what we may really need is to find a way to be openbouquet

well, and for a woman it's hard cause many men our age are looking for much younger ladies

I want someone compatible to me in personality who will love me for who I am - irrespective of age - it's just that the closer we are in age the better the chances for compatibility...tho I have dated much younger men and it was great!

HotrodLarrys: In a Couple of Years You will get thru that feeling and then You will find Patients from within...and Just not stress on it anymore,

Yes it is a hard for a couple of years, anymore, I just walk alone, and Cast back about 99% as it isnt worth My time to set myself up for less than I desire, or just more Hurt...
So I walk with dignity the best I know it, and just keep Hope alive,
that the right one will show in time....

When You show Desperacy, It runs off the few that are left! RIGHT?

In response to: WE HAVE REACHED OUR GOLDEN YEARS , THEN WHY IS IT SO HARD TO FIND SOME ONE? EVEN THOUGH WE KNOW EXACTLY WHAT WE WANT IN A PARTNER ?

Sometimes WE are our own worst enemy... maybe we're afraid of getting hurt again or disappointing other people or living beneath our ideal relationship standard? Maybe we’ve been out of a relationship for too long or have gotten too comfortable in our current lifestyle. Maybe it's a distance issue or maybe even a game for some people.
