Ali, a lot of women were looking for their soulmate when they were younger. If they are still single now, odds are they are settled in their ways and may not want to be confined to another man. Some may. Some are just really picky about who they tango with at this point. They've been in some other relationships and have learned things about themselves and they now know what they want. If they can't have what they want they'd rather just stay single. This probably goes for men, as well.

Some do want to get married, some don't. As time ticks by the
opportunities might become less and less, until we are all
complacent on living single. We set criteria and barriers for
ourselves. Good thing we did not do that when we were young.
We would not have experienced anything.

For some women, it really depends on their past experience with relationships...whether they have been married or not...and how they were treated etc....marriage may not be an important factor now. But having a life partner would be nice...:)
I feel most of us are looking for a soulmate, men and women, but it depends on how we define a "soulmate"
I think we all want love in our lives....to share time with someone, and finding a life partner is why we are here.
I wish us all the luck in the world...so we can find "the one" :)

Men want a quickie and women are probably divorced, have kids, are tired and bitter and just got tired of playing the game of love.
