I just got a call from 012-403-500153. We don't have phone numbers like this in the US so I did a little detective work on google and learned it originates in Pretoria S. Africa. The guy on the phone was kinda hard to understand but it sounded like he was trying to sell me a loan. He asked me how much of a loan I wanted and I told him I don't want a loan. He acted very surprised then he asked me do I have a loan and I said no and he hung up on me.
I got a call before daylight a couple weeks ago saying my credit card had been compromised by 600.00 and I don't have a credit card so there was no 600.00 to compromise...I just hung up...pissed that anyone would try to scam me before daylight.....

Before daylight seems to be the right time to do it as you're not fully awake and you could be having a lucid dream?

Which one would you suggest, the toll bridge that goes from Manhattan to Brooklyn? Great idea. Of course the Brooklyn Bridge doesn't have a toll, but he doesn't know that. I answered the call because I'd never seen a number like that pop up on my phone, I thought it was coming from one of the outer planets, besides, I do enjoy using up their time and expense on a LD call only to fail in their attempt to scam somebody. I'm a veteran Scam Baiter.
You need to be careful, some of these call actually chatge YOU for the time you are on the phone. Happens in China a lot, I never answer calls from unknown places.
About 2 weeks ago, I got a call from a " private/hidden number" (after the insurances customer office was closed), from a man who said he was calling from the insurance company that I use. Since the companys name was right, I didn't suspect anything. He then went on to say that I had been online to their Homepage a few days earlier, looking for information about insuring a car…….nope, not me, Now….my suspicion gets aroused, he askes if I have a car or was thinking of buying one and insuring it with them, nope….not anytime in the near future, I said, he replied thank you, bye and hung up. I then sent an e-mail to the transport board, informing them of the call and that I have no plans whatsoever of buying a car in the near future, and that if they recieved any applications to register a car or cars in my name, that it was a fraud. Next day I called the insurance company, and was informed that noone had contacted me the evening before.
