Second of all where I live cost of living is way more expensive compared to where you live..Dirt cheap prices in the USA compared to where I live...One example is if I lived in the USA my gym shoes would cost me $40 compared to me paying $280 here..That's just one very small example.

I now buy my shoes from the UK..Exact same shoes with the exact same variety is way cheaper to buy from..Including gym clothes..I don't get slogged with a zillion bs tax for this and tax for that and so on.

These company's keep making smaller containers, and charging even more for the less quantity..
Such as sugar and coffee, it USED to be 5 Lbs. of sugar, now it is 4 Lbs. and more money... seems they are doing it with almost everything...I call it price gouging...It does seem that your prices are way higher than we pay, but you are across the world.... No worries...

It makes the milk she buys more expensive, I'm sticking to the $3.79 (AUD) stuff. Diesel maybe a few cents per litre more expensive, but hey we have universal health care and stuff that costs money (tax).
To compare properly, one would have to factor in the average wage, and average cost of living. We'd be streets in front, and a lot safer walking around. Just sayin'

Try digesting this cut-and-paste about why people in the usa referring to petro as gasoline and abbreviate it as ‘gas.’ So why do Americans call this ancient rock-oil ‘gasoline’? Petroleum as a word was around in Europe back when the North American mainland was being filled with enthusiastic European settlers and so it’s likely those first English-speakers were aware of the term, but it’s only when this ‘rock oil’ was started to be split into different compounds did the term ‘gasoline’ come about. In a lot of organic chemistry, -ene or -ine is used (think benzene/benzine), and so the part of the petroleum distilled-off and used in motor vehicles was the part of highest volatility, and in time was dubbed gasoline. Until recently it was thought the ‘gas’ part of it was due to it’s nature of being quite gas-like, however, it may have actually come from a brand name of Cazeline (a product sold and imported into the UK by a Mr John Cassell, and so named after him – Cassel + ine), which, when made by others who were not allowed to use the brand name, began being sold as Gazeline – or, in time, ‘gasoline’.
