film memories

In the theatre
of our mind
images
entertain

mary astor
to clara bow
greta garbo
to Monroe

sweet charity
call her Shirley
tiffanys breakfast
with Audrey

sound of music
julie andrews
singer dancer
leslie a warren

in the theatre
of our mind
they
entertain

theatre or
smaller screen
life's
touch us

people we
never know
touch our
inner sanctum
and when

the feature ends
image fades
but memory stays
character wins
who wins through

for a brief
and dreamy while
you have made us
laugh and smile
and loved you
a hundred times
stars you were
that once shined
