Cold puffy fingers sometimes white or perhaps blue Frozen slippery steps and thoughts of chipping ice thru Snow covered autos all in a row distinguished entirely by a smidgeon of colour sometimes relinquished A grim freezing day and yet many more of winter I long for a moment of time of warmth..if only a splinter Frozen numb wipers and sealed frozen locks Perhaps the car will start if the battery's not shocked Defrost forever to blurry images outside Seems forever before I can even try to drive Did I mention how I hate this sh..........sleet Did I tell you I don't like it only try to survive it Images in my head now drive me insane More days of cold, frozen, broken, stiff, mundane, stuck, caked, blurry, miserable, cursed misery. Did I mention I hate winter? Slipping, sliding, falling and shambles Wind blowing me sideways as I ramble Am I cold and miserable or to the point of frostbite Can I make it thru one more cursed winter night Did I mention I hate winter?
Thanks RedHeadedTaurus. Misery loves company. Hey... at least you are further South than me...lol.

Hi Boyshcrm, A friend of mine who lived for 13 years in Canada said it's not a place to grow old. After reading your poem...I can see where he was coming from. Having said that...and having been very hot lately, I'd relish some cooler weather...maybe not sub Arctic though?
Hi Macduff. No...perhaps a place makes you old. Seriously tho I do love CaNerda, but not fussy about the winters. I'll send you some ice and snow and you can send me some sunshine ok. Did I mention I hate winter?

I hate winter, and don't think I would survive up there. (I take a 7 hr. drive to visit my parents every 3-4 months in south Texas. I love Texas. I hate winter(at any location where it gets below freezing more than 2 weeks of the year... and most esp. where the wind never ceases to blow, except in the summer.) Yeah, I hate ...very cold weather.
But some people just love living in Alaska(& I'm not talking about politicians - I know people who've lived there, had to leave, missed it, and moved back as soon as they got the chance )
Great poem & great description of all the numb & frozen things in a cold climate's winter

Such a cool write sorry just because our snow is over I should feel some sympathy for others still in the thick of it anyway I have sent this wooley jumper for you
Thanks Scatlyn. Misery loves company. Liked your story of woe even though short lived. Yes some people love the winter and all its activities. Did I mention I hate winter? Just had another snowfall yesterday...afraid to look outside this morning...
Hi, boyshchrm6, Your poem resurfaced just as the Boston ground emerged from its winter's snow - spring soon to the rescue. It certainly paints the Winter blues!. Gone ice fishing, lately?
The poem is so good, I thought we could forget the dreariness of winter to enjoy the poem yet once again. Winter is followed by spring, so no matter how long our suffering we know it will end some time, just as spring replaces winter in due course. Thanks for the poem, but sorry for dragging down the poem and reminding you about winter. Will a bouquet along with hearty greetings do as a compensation?
