THE KNIFE...A Seafarer's Yarn..(Part 2)
Ah yes…The smoke!….But that, M‘dears, for a moment must wait,
For, we must think for a while on our quarry’s fate,
A cruel and unusual one,
To make sure, she and all aboard her were sunk and done,
Tis not the usual navy way,
I have to say!
For, there’s bounty to be had,
Ransom and then some swag,
But, this one and all aboard, was going down to Davy Jones,
Taken there by her heavy ballast stones,
As if she never existed,
To stop any rumours that might have persisted….
For, aboard her was a horrible man,
And he M’dears….Had hatched a dastardly plan,
Treadeau was his name,
The Frenchies top spy, and he played with war,
Like it was his own personal little game.
A short fat man, a poisonous dwarf, a wicked elf,
And his formulated plan,
Was to put an imposter, also aboard, in the place of none other than…..
Our very own good King...HIMSELF!
Jamie’s eye’s opened even wider still,
Pa, reached down for another lighted spill,
In the illumination it could be seen, the two girls own eyes,
Just as wide….
Mouths describing a perfect, silent, “Oh”….
Even Ma suddenly stopped, needle in hand…Mid sew,
This was new…..
No part of the story ever before…..She knew!
