RE: Red Hat

I met a girl on the East Dubuque bridge on the Mississippi River in 1988. It was fun for about a month or so, then she dumped me, luckily for her she still had two other boyfriends to keep her company.daydream dance

RE: Special Friend

A true friend is hard to find. I have two right now, I had as much as three at various times in my life. The one I have I see every day, the other I see only once or twice a year, so far no visits this year, but I do get phone calls about every day.cheers

RE: you

Oh, gosh, how to say how this work sounds? Well, here's my interpretation: This work brings to mind the poem (often read at funerals and graveside services) "Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep, I am not there I do not sleep". The rhythm and cadence is very much the same.I like this work very much! cowboy wine

Star In Our Own Show

There's no hierarchy in my view of spirituality or meditation or mindfulness. We're all trying to do our best on the path that we're on. angel

I really like this........ you really touch upon the idea of subliminal messages as part of our understanding and awareness....and longing for each other...... great poem!!! handshake

RE: Respect you? Respect me, too.

Didi, I think you've done a wonderful job sharing your most Christian-like portrayal of the meaning of respect. For one who practices my faith on a regular basis I can instantly recognize how your faith has also influenced you and your poetry. Thank you very much!! applause

RE: Arguments

I remember a time when in our local state legislature, members would argue and disagree politics all day long; then they would all get together for a nice supper and drinks in the evening still friends. I long back to the day for more civility and respect. It is badly needed!! beer

RE: One for the dog

What a great reflection on on our life and times.....how the mind conjures up a nostalgia for the past with some mindfulness for the present is brilliantly on display in this one..... really enjoy your poetry.... applause

RE: CS Poetry Corner

Socrates, I also remember those days spanning back over a decade now. I remember how constructive and helpful some of the comments (and also critiques!!) were shared by other members and I learned in the process how to become a better poet. I share your love for this page and its poets over the years. Nice tribute!! applause

Shadows of Frost

"Cold and light" is one of my favorite ephemeral subjects in nature to write about. Thanks for your comment

RE: Puzzle

Turn on the first light switch and leave it on for a little while then turn it off. Turn on the next light switch and open the door. Now go into the room and briefly feel all three light bulbs; the warm one is the first switch,, the one that is still on is obviously the second light switch and the cold light bulb is the last switch that you didn't touch. applause

RE: Aging

Socrates, Yes it is so. I'm still working a most physically taxing job and suffer the consequences if I don't heed your important advise. Growing older presents some physical limitations we never needed to be too concerned about before. Thanks for your insights. wave

RE: Puzzle

I can tell simply by asking Google

Switch on switches 1 & 2, wait a moment and switch off number 2. Enter the room. Whichever bulb is on is wired to switch 1, whichever is off and hot is wired to switch number 2, and the third is wired to switch 3smoking

RE: Finding Peace

Nature brings us that peace that God has created to fulfill our lives, we just have to let our senses feel it. Nice write. SMhandshake
