RESTORATION

RESTORATION

This is my favorite poem. I wrote it for an arbor day contest in the british virgin islands quite a few years ago. It talks about the trees of the island being stripped away for the sugar cane plantations in the 1800's and what damage it had caused. The poem is a reminder of how people can damage their environment for selfish gain and implores future generations to plant trees and conserve. Tortola is known as the Land of the Turtledove.
