“Strange, is it not? that of the myriads who Before us pass'd the door of Darkness through, Not one returns to tell us of the Road, Which to discover we must travel too.” (Omar Khayyam – The Rubaiyat, verse 46) Omar Khayyam was a Persian mathematician, astronomer, and poet. He was born on May 18, 1048 and died on December 4, 1131. The verse of his poem quoted was written more than nine centuries ago. The message of his poem still holds today. My poem, “The Other Side”, is in line with the quoted verse from Khayyam's poem and is not meant to disparage the religious beliefs of anyone.
Reincarnation; or a change in form = transcendence. Death - the E.N.D? No - Energy Never Dies.

Haven't written a poem in months, just toying with some rhyming
I tried to write this poem in the style of some poems I learned and loved as a child. I have a special fondness for balanced rhyming poems. I think they are easier for children to learn. I believe it is important for children to learn the importance of honesty and I dedicate this poem to them.
A thousand islands in the sea I am an island, all on my own, Eroded by the oceans foam, God’s heaven temporarily on loan, Like a grazing sheep, free to roam. A thousand islands in the sea, A plethora of souls isolated like me, I am a chron

Things are looking dire in Ukraine, military surrounds the country, even subs in the Black Sea. Talk of millions of refugees if the Russians invade, right in the middle of winter, how will Europe deal with this one?
I made some adjustments to my previous piece, "The Sound Of Silence". This piece, "The Power Of Silence", allows a fuller treatment of Silence. Thanks to those who commented on "The Sounds of Silence".
Perhaps, it is because of the experience of being broken by hurt, and the suffering that goes with it, in whatever area of life, that we are able to experience greater depths of happiness at a later time. Kahlil Gibran says: "The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain." Perhaps, it is within the very cracks of our brokenness that we can discover a new joy and beauty that we may not be able to experience if we were not cracked and broken. I wish to dedicate this piece to those who have experienced acute pain and suffering in their lives, whether in romantic love or otherwise. Remember the words of Kahlil Gibran!
danny and i did sort of this...we robbed 1500 Valium and buried it where you had to jump off a moving train and know where it was buried. it was so cool to hear who the cops thought did it.
