“If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same” (Extract from Rudyard Kipling's poem “If”) equanimity - a calm state of mind and attitude to life (Collins dictionary)

Since I was a child, I have always admired the effortless gliding of vultures up in the sky. Among other gliding birds listed are albatross, eagle, condor, stork, frigatebird and seagull. It is a truly delightful to watch the marvellous gliding action of these birds way up in the sky as they ride the air currents. This poem is dedicated to them: the genuine avian sailors in the sky. (I have made some adjustments to the original to include some other gliding birds in the body of the piece).

THIS IS A POEM
I tried to put myself in the position of a jaded lover and wrote this piece. I think there are persons here to whom it may apply. It does not apply to myself directly. (Iambic Tetrameter)
A montage of random lines, hope you like the effect even if the meaning is questionable!

I wrote this poem more than fifteen years ago.
This poem speaks for itself. I am sending my intentions for the one I seek, out to the Universe and I await it's positive reply. Blessed be. May this poem find its way to the eyes and heart of he who will know that my calling is for him alone.
what do we bring to sacrifice, to the altar of our fears will the fear, itself, suffice to wipe away these grieving tears here, a satchel i take in stride through the machine, my will to cede and here, too, a bag of my pride that it turns ou

And if I should awake some day to find My dreams spread out like sheets of poetry Discarded, unread; workings of a mind That leaped and fell at every boundary Then what can I say but at least I tried To keep my aim upon the truer course And i
they say we'll come to our end one day they say we just won't matter they say we'll become our own prey with thoughts as mad as a hatter they say we'll run out of water they say we'll run out of food they say we'll kill or be slaughtered the
this was a difficult write. It brought out quite a diversity of feelings; grief, hopelessness apprehensiveness, excitement, and hope. I love the dramatic properties it possesses. I love sad stories with happy endings. Death is not something to be feared.
My snapshot of the six great Romantic poets.

I posted my first piece here on CS Poetry Corner in June 2013. There was a great camaraderie among the poets then and the subsequent years. It was a wonderful feeling that inspired other poets and myself in our writing. I have written this piece in honour of those days. It was inspired and motivated by the song: “Those Were The Days” by Mary Hopkins https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3KEhWTnWvE

I wrote this to remind myself that sometimes a little patience is required before you find what you are looking for. :)
