I found myself walking along
On an old cobble-stone lane
Running side by side the Atlantic
Of an ancient Eriu' seaside town
I knew I was to meet him here
That dear soul once bound with mine
He visits me inside my dreams
From the place where theres no space or time.
The sun shone warmly upon my face
The wind brought me gently to the place
Of an old stone bridge with a sittng bench
A stream below rolled down into the sea.
There he was bent over the wall
And staring at the stream below
He jumped o'er the wall and down the bank
I followed as much in wonder
The water foul and of sulphur smell
Kneeling down he began to drink
Do not do so, good soul said I
If you drink that you will die.
He gazed at me with piercing eyes
A painful sorrow across his face
Rising up he climbed the bank
He was now to leave this place
We walked along in silence
Me wondered with time to think
What water have I been drinking
Thats made my soul to stink.

the wind chimes quiet,
I got no breeze.
and I'm alone.
do as I please.
a scattering
of mental pics
memories
play dirty tricks
and I'm quick to learn
take my time
the more I see
the world is blind
and the future is a dream
just for believers.

About this poem:
from some random page in my old journal. hope you like it. it's not meant at all, just so I'm clear, to be any sort of judgement, or religious thing. 'believers' is used more like the 'clap your hands to save a fairy' kinda belief. child-like. :)

I met someone sincere
An Angel
which made me reflect
As his smile came my way
I remember envying him
and the fact that he was
having a happy day.
His kindness was refreshing
genuine and true
I wonder? Maybe for one day
I should try to be more like you
Well I set my plan in motion
I smiled and said Hello!
I continued on in conversation
hoping that I had the same glow
By the end I was worn and weary
what a heavy task
I appreciate you even more
for in my patience and strength
I discovered many flaws.
So I am writing this little poem
As I sit in awe
To tell you that I miss
The Angel
who passed through my door.
xx

What you know about the struggle? Day in and day out,
look to the sky and hope the Lord can take the gray out.
I'm caught in the streets and I can't find my way out
turned to the Lord but I don't know what to pray bout.
I guess it's true, I never been religious
but I have cracked the book and read a couple Scriptures.
But I'm still lost to the meanings
far from the angels but I'm close to the demons.
My life is not typical
I talk to the dead and I walk with the spiritual,
I break bread with the criminals
graduated from soldier and moved up to general.
Its been a long road since my younger days
when I used be awakened by those hunger pangs.
But now I'm pushing twenty-four
and for my children's sake I pray I see twenty more.
Old friends new enemies
they all the same cause they wanna see the end of me
I'm stressed out so I'm blowing trees
pistol stay close I'm the last of a dying breed.

The flags that fly
for all to see that
they mean something
to you and me.
They show the hope
and faith that we
portray waiting to
see what the POW MIA
can bring home for
me or you.
Someone that should
of been home
years
ago.

Lead soldiers along the path –
Childhood of burnt sugar
That rings and chimes...
Forward march.
Traces in front of you.
Thick dust in the wake
of the broom.
A leaf of the poplar
falls onto the ground,
dim interior,
flat eyes push each other
in the keyhole.
It’s raining in the jungle.
A unicorn.
Inaccessibility.
Noisy bats
weave
the night
with their bronze shuttles..

For my birthday this
year there was always
something i wanted
to be happy i had
another one and
could celebrate
it with my family.
I thank my family
for being there
even when i was not
sure i could or
would let you in.
I thank you for all
that you have done
and all you will do.
For you are my family
straight and true.
Caring more for me
then you ought to.
Then i realized that
is just the way
because they have
so much love for you.

There are some things that I strive to attain.
I continue to seek, even though it causes pain.
I sometimes wonder if i can keep doing all of this.
Then, like clockwork, I'm rewarded with a first kiss.
The experiences I've had weren't what i dreamed of.
It's not always rewarding, this game we call love.
I forget the hard times, when they are going good.
Why i keep going though, I've never understood.
I continue the search, regardless of what I find.
And once I have it, the struggles will leave my mind.
So many others have what I wish i had.
If i could stand myself, it wouldn't be so bad.
I let people hurt me, for to me that's what I'm worth.
Can't remember when it started, I think at birth.
I won't find love, until I find it deep within.
I need to love myself, but where do I begin.
So many tell me it all starts inside of me.
There is a value to me, that I cannot see.
Everyone says that I can paint pictures with words.
Every line as graceful as the flight of birds.
It is my choice, whether to use this tool.
Finding somebody that will let me love them, that'd be cool.
I return to school, humbly, in the fall.
Once settled in, I'm guaranteed a booty call.
Happiness, as it happens, is a choice i can make.
I want to learn to smile more, even if it's fake.
It has an effect similiar to dominoes.
They see me smile and they do too, that's how it goes.
I hope to stay vigilant in this goal i have selected.
For when i am truely happy i'll see that reflected.

If you were me
what would you see
would you see me
or would you see through me
All I have been
and all I will be
still amounts to more than me
As my days grow short
and my eternal spirit lives on
so ask you
what did you see
did you see I
or did you see me

For dreams do come
true for i have
this dream of you.
You have accomplished
all things in your
life so you try
anew things to see
how far you can go
to be all you can be.
To be this new person
who is wild and free.
Gaining all your goals
dreams and putting
them into reality.
Waiting to see how
that is gonna go
for thee.
