The book of love

When all that matters is no more
and emotions lay bare on the floor
when all that once was no longer is
then life has surely lost its fizz
but hope springs eternal, or so they say
and maybe I'll find love again some day
maybe not now, or even next week
but in time I might find the one whom I seek
She might not be perfect but then neither am I
she might not come to me in the blink of an eye
but as the saying goes, and we all know it well
'there's someone for everyone'.....
it's on these words I dwell
we've all been in love and lost someone dear
and after the pain then comes the fear
the fear of finding someone new
and of closing the book on the past that we knew
and the one that we loved and with whose love we grew
but books are written with a start and an end
and love is the same, no matter how we pretend
all we can do is enjoy each chapter
while cherishing the love of the new heart we capture.

The Girl in Me ...

Even though I've lived through my own lot ...
Tried, loved ... and lost several times,
though broken down ... but irreparably not ...

And yet , it amazes me still ,
at this my age ...
Seeing your pectorals wiggle,
my eyes just can't disengage ...
Can't help but let out some involuntary giggle
like I would have done
when I was decades younger and single ...

Still, I'm glad there remains
a bit of that girlish naivity that shows ...
Not hardened and embittered,
but can still with candidness
curl up my toes ...

Perhaps it contributes
to not really looking my age,
who knows ...?
I'm just somewhat glad I can laugh silly
and not worried that it shows ....

Wouldn't It Feel Like Christmas .....?

Wouldn't it feel like Christmas
for each day that we get to live together ...?
After all, it's not so much the date that matters,
but the spirit of love, sharing, and joy
we will share with and give to each other ...

Wouldn't it always be like Christmas
when we put into words
how we feel for one another... ?
As if, every time,
hearing the Christmas Carols
when with our parents and siblings we used to gather ...
The ones we listened to as children
and appreciated even more as we grew older ...

Wouldn't it feel like Christmas ...
with every manifest of affection and love,
even if simple and nothing grand ...
That's not what really matters,
for each would still be like a precious present
opened on Christmas day, over and over ...
And through the years to come,
would just utterly become better and stronger ,
as we prove and show
we'll always be there for each other ...

Petals of Contemplation: A Dandelion's Symphony

The Expressivity of the bloom is captured within the strain of the Blossoming Rose. A Melancholic hue fills the foyer of my mind as I tease my transfixed stare with the temptations of pressing upon the thorns a bit harder with each passing stroke as I caress the stem of the Rose. Each leaf dangling there slowly losing its life as it gives all that it has left for the life of what’s more than just a flower. And in my baneful selfishness I contemplate the idea of being in control as I press harder upon the thorns as I contemplate the girl, I am about to give this Rose to. Like the wick of an old lantern that holds what oil is left within it My hope for satisfying her every desire steadily burns within me yet to an end that will come at a time unknown. Yet like the wrecking ball that tears through structures to make way for new foundations courage beckons me to think not of the thorns or the temptations to earn the right of giving, by bleeding there upon them, I am swayed into a luring motion of handing the rose out to her awaiting her quick yet soft embrace of its profound beauty. In my mind the Rose crumbles to dust and ash. Yet in my hand it remains intact ever so vibrant in its warming majestic glow, of Natures endless words, of a love unspoken. And I with trembling knees extend my arm and hand, the Rose leaning towards her as if it was thirsting for the light of the sun. Yet I am poor and can't afford to buy a rose, so I go and pick a Dandelion instead. What Love I have I'd long to give, if I could but afford that which would by grace express it. And then with a saddened repose I swallow my saliva as if it were a melancholic wine to savor, for I hath no one to give the Dandelion to for the girl I'd long to love I had only imagined. Was I a fool for the imagery or a romanticist for the motions? I felt grieved with resentment for it was pointless to pick the Dandelion. Yet for some reason I began to smile as I realized the Dandelion carried within it many many seeds to spread forth its life anew: or maybe, I could just kiss her hand.

About this poem:
When choosing what type of poem what I wrote is, ...from the list provided to me on here from the "poetry style" drop down list, nothing in what was provided in that list describes what I wrote. Yet it alligns closest with the option of "Free Verse".

Love

Love is having babies
Watching them being born
so adorned
smells of love
made out of love
This new life
Look into their eyes
See And smell
the innocence of love
I thank God from above
The smell of my grown children
Still reminds me of the love I have for them
Same love now then it was when they were born
The smell of love will never be forgotten

Love

Love comes in many forms
Be it love for the sun, the moon and stars
Some love their cars

We are blessed with unconditional love from The great I AM
who also creates spectacular sunsets.
And for some their beloved pets

Many of us love the arts, be it painting, writing, music, song and dance
We come here to enjoy them all, whilst seeking the one that will fulfil our desire for companionship, fun and true romance

May you all be blessed enough to be loved and to love in return

PASSION'S FIRE BURNS

In the depths of passion's untamed,
Our desires unleashed and inflamed,
A connection beyond words, untold,
When bodies collide, in fervor bold.

When I feed your lust, my love,
Your body quivers, with each thrust and shove,
Each rough touch transmits ardor's fire,
A blazing testament, to our fierce desire.

To forceful dance of skin our hearts race,
Our bodies interlocked, in sacred embrace,
Your cries of pleasure, a sweet symphony,
Ignite a hunger, driving me avidly.

With every tremor, a higher peak we climb,
An ecstasy unbound, a primeval chime,
In your vulnerability, my ardor is unchained,
Our passion's fire burns, uncontained.

The boundaries of pleasure, we'll transcend,
This unbridled eroticism, will never end,
climaxing bodies trembling whole,
o*gasm, will be poetry of our souls.

Adoring You

Draw close
Draw close and you will surely
hear the melody that is playing
softly..in my heart.

Playing sweetly,in the part of me
that is all yours, that truly adores.

And no matter if you’re here with me
Or, sometimes very far away, I pray
that we are always close in spirit everyday.

For, I will always be loving and adoring you.
Adoring you..my prescious one ..for who you are.

Adoring...you...adoring you,
for...who...you...are

Love Will Conquer All

Love will conquer all
It is such a powerful tool
Can melt the coldest heart
Has led to many a broken rule
True love is never cruel

Love will conquer all
It definitely is not set in stone
And has a language of its own
It can break down barriers
Can never be outgrown

A Fairy Tale of Love

So now we’re about to start.
What would become of us,
If there in Lovers’ pass
The skies had cleared up?!
If skies had cleared up,
I'd give up soul, whole life.
What wrong to world have we done
By being so much in love?

Love's shaking and rattling us,
Our heart in anguish cries,
How bitter-sweet, how hard
Is fairy tale of love!

How fast time slipped away,
How swiftly has it passed,
Love you – what else should I say?
Just this much is not enough.
If skies had cleared up,
I’d give up soul, whole life.
What wrong to world have we done
By being so much in love?!

Love's shaking and rattling us,
Our heart in anguish cries,
How bitter-sweet, how hard
Is fairy tale of love!

And so my story’s done,
If sweet, it’s yours to keep.
A little girl - she once
Saw little boy in her dream.
