Tiny birds eggs, speckled-opaque
Australian opals, natural gems make
Golden honey to sticky toffee, glows
Gum-topaz, as sun worshippers know
Beauty unique, nature develops-grows
Like glistening white, flakes of snow
Ice, diamonds and crystal shine
Gold-rosy hues, the sunset signs
Some see beauty, in thunder skies
Shaking heavens, as a giants sighs
Followed by rainbows, giver of hope
Natural ways, that help us cope
Some like peaceful country scenes
Others seek ocean, supreme and serene
Or head for bright lights, city sounds
Searching their peace, wherever found
Experience from life, pleases their soul
Seeking within, to make themselves whole
No real rules, can make that special day
You find your path, to find your own way......

Naked winter tree, backdrop of fire
Sunset so beautiful, never will tire
Watching a red glow, rapidly change
Twilights often similar, never the same
Before darkness, as a full golden sun
Haunting evening sky, before it runs
Into the darkness, leaving vacant sky
Silence over-whelms, until stars on high
Add changes rapidly, from molten to black
Nature's beauty, man-made scene lacks
Silent silvery moon, will dazzle eyes
As change-over completed, smile-sigh.....
Night may settles, until a waking dawn
Until dew glistens, on foliage and lawns
Reminder: nature can never stands still
Progression continues, moments to fill....
Rarely do we stop, wonders to behold
Accepting nature, so subtle and yet bold
Taken for granted, yet we understand
Disappearance possible, by human hand.....
Time for humans, to consider what follows
World deserves better, not empty- hollow
Abusive treatment, must leave its mark
Nature struggles, earth shakes, floods-fire-dark......

Thoughts get lost, in a sky of navy blue
One searches with care, seeking a clue
As stars twinkle, so bright and so high
In depth and beauty, of a night time sky
Escaping thoughts fly, as small shiny lights
Reflecting on still waters, as flashes of white
Waves crash and creep, upon a silent shore
Vacuum felt in a moonless night, chilly and raw
Dark clouds travel with great haste, eager to go
Out of sight and reach, as if escaping hidden foe
Allowing the moon's glow and presence, to be seen
Night can then finally be mystic, silent and serene ......

About this poem:
Hokianga Harbour....

There's nothing like a swirling sea
Rough-energetic, turmoil to see
Wind adds drama, to coastal scene
Far across the harbour, cool green
Shoreline to hills, a natural frame
Contrasting scene, vibrant not tame
Swooping seabirds, haunting eerie sound
Feeling of being isolated, on rocky ground
Noisy moments pass, in erratic rush
Swamped by sea-spray, soak not crush
Nature enhanced, negative turmoil
Released thoughts, mind uncoils
In time nature can heal, once again
Splatter of spray, releases pain
To carefully walk, away in peace
Mixed emotions fade, as trauma cease......
Nature a healer, after exposure to sea
Watching movement, as wind blows free
Rough raw beauty, nature acts as host
As evening closes in, grey becomes a ghost

Stillness of morning, silence controls
Dawn has broken, giving earth its soul
Colour explodes, as sun-rays dance
Dew on grass, as flowers enhance
Overall appearance, a waking day
Fresh-shiny, waits creatures who play
Dawn chorus, as birds join in
Lift anticipation, all sing
Sun as a clock, the world wakes
Across mountains, oceans and lakes
Stirring imagination, also sound
Emotional thoughts, united abound
Seasons of a world, bursting forth
Hope stirs passion, a driving force
Morning comes with hope, a new day
Sun wakes nature's crystals, dazzling rays.
Every morning, new hope is renewed
Around the world, with dawn it's cue
Whether sunny or cloudy, hope is alive
And so each morning, a positive drive.......

Why always be in a rush
To get somewhere?
Slow down and absorb
The colors, tastes and smells
Of summer
Tune in to the music
That is brewing inside
Write a song and sing it
When sun rises as birds do
Dance to the drumming
Of the rain
Catch and ride the ball
Of lightning
And watch it break
Into the fireworks
Of fireflies

About this poem:
The ball of lightning passed next to me. Luckily, I was not hurt, just shaken enough to write a poem.

With our gifts of lovely sight
The August sun shines brillant light
The soft wind plays lively bright
The pale moon paints a sultry night
A romantic sweet cool delight
With cloudless sky, perfectly right,
For moonbeams' radiance of golden white.

I will burn down to the edge of the highway
A fire barely contains the rituals of late spring
Leaving everything behind in my blackened path
Waiting for at last the light and seeds to grow
Hardest part of life is leaving everything aside
Sometimes you have to lose something
Have to realize what you had to leave behind
Never burning anything outside your own boundaries
You always remember being left with the same taste
On the tip of your very own tongue and in your eyes
On your clothes as well as ……on your face
The sun becomes a tangerine smear against the horizon
And then there is a strawberry moon born in June

Do you feel the breeze
Wind envelopes sways the tree
Branches now blown away
Dancing in the breeze
Birds hold on tight
Blown from their peaches
That wind howls tonight winds gather up
Rain facets paces darkened skies night and day darken
Lightning flashes hail wind and rain
Leaves blown by the force the trees stand nearly bare
for all to see
Branches leafy fallen on the road the fields
Darkness fade winds fade sky's brighten the sunny sky once again
Sun shines bright leaves appear
The trees live again
