The Greatest Happiness Principle (acrostic)

The sovereign masters, pain and pleasure
Greatest choice, what we should treasure
Good from evil, as right from wrong
For cause and effect the other one
The natural gift, a governance of two
Greatest amount is given pleasure too
Number up for those natural rights
Of ‘nonsense upon stilts’ he smites
People ruled in utalitarian plight

My ANZAC

My grandfather who art in heaven
Victor French be his name
Fought for this country like many more
Gallantly with no shame

To protect the souls an aussie goals
He always had in mind
Fallen comrades an mates
He tried not to leave behind

With gunnedah blood he did shrug
All hurdles in his way
A seargeant in the army
He led from day to day

But wars of life are not a game
For death is everywhere
Priceless pawns moved into place
To fight for what they care

History is an will always be
Of many untold stories
Brave men gone to war to set you free
Not to seek the glories

For war has no glory
As too much suffering there will be
Lives lost at such a cost
The fee to be free

For my grandfather i have said
An ANZAC through an through
Raise your glass tip your hat
A proud aussie .....True Blue

Citizenship

Citizenship

I am a citizen of this fair country
My hand on heart, a lump in my throat
When I see the Stars and Stripes raised
And the strains of Old Glory are played.

I am proud to be American
Proud of the people who live here
We stand for Justice, and Liberty
For the Freedom of Speech.

When the world is in conflict
We send our brave men
Only for them to come back
In coffins again, each one a hero.

We take the worlds oppressed
Give them food and water
And a decent life to live
In time, embrace them as our own.

Yes, I am proud to be called
A citizen of these States
A citizen of this great country
The United States of America.

9/11 A Tribute

9/11 A Tribute

Though many years have passed
the memories still fresh in our minds
tears still fall from our eyes
for so many souls lost.

Let’s not forget the little children
that lost their lives that fateful day
not given the chance, wasted lives
each one now in heaven.

Let’s not forget the firemen or the police
who gave their lives so unselfishly
no fear in their eyes, just a job to be done
now hero's, everyone.

Let’s not forget the innocent people
who died that day all 2.000 of them
now shining bright as new stars in the heavens
eternally there for us to remember.

Let’s not forget that day
let them always be in our thoughts
our prays, our minds
let’s not forget 9/11...No never forget...

God bless america!

Christians and jews abound, many religions can be found. Freedom of speech endeared. Democratic values they share. Homosexuals and gays parade. Abortion: roe vs wade. All co-exist in this country. This a credit to democracy. The Barack Obama presidency, brought hope to minorities. Amonst problems, americans hope! With resilience they cope. Women have been elevated; this can't be overstated. The statue of liberty, the symbol that guarantees. Children rights and all; this inherited from small. America, what a country! A fifty state democracy. This is the reality. America: land of the free. From land of slaves, to home of braves! Looking to the future; God bless you america!

To Emigrant

Sky is bottomless,
Sky isn't mine.
Space is limitless,
Space isn't mine.
Road is infinite,
Road isn't mine.
People walking by
Aren’t mine.
So I ask you, my friend…
What is keeping you back?
Here sky isn't yours,
Here space isn't yours,
Here roads aren't yours,
Here people aren’t yours.
So I'll tell you, my friend,
Don't think much and go back,
To your home, which no land could replace.

Behind This Picket Fence

There is calmness in the early morn
That begins to make some sense
Before the daily grind will churn
Distracts us with offense
A time making a spirit reborn
When each new day commence
Like a gentle rain be born
When vapors of life condense
Make bold the dusty colors worn
On fields of faded pretense
Lift high the emblem we adorn
That stars and stripes propense
It’s our place to live freeborn
Behind this picket fence

The Patriot

At the close of the day, an old cowboy sits
Kind of quiet on the old porch swing;
Now and then he'll softly whistle a song
Or perhaps he'll sing a tune.

Then he'll change his mind and waggle his head
And close his eyes in thought;
He'll think of WWII, the war over there,
And of the lessons that it taught.

When his gaze wanders over to the nearby hills
He recalls how they look when it snows;
He studies the flag that he raised this morning,
How it moves when the west wind blows.

If you look real close, you'll see a tear
Gives a hint of some inner strife;
His mind's eye seeing the faces of friends
Who long ago left this life.

The flag waves gently in the sunset sky
And the old man raises his chin;
In his mind he's hearing the sound of drums,
And he waits for the tune to begin.

When it does, his step is strong and brisk
As he marches out to the flag;
He stops and stands there watching it wave,
Wipes his eyes with a pocket rag.

He continues his march to the old corral
Where his Quarter Horse comes over to talk;
He saddles him up and climbs on top,
And heads him out for a walk.

On a hill he wonders if the whole blamed thing
Was worth all the friends he lost;
Heading home, he knows down deep in his heart,
He too, would have paid the cost.

Yes, he shared the peril but he returned
To his home in the sand and sage;
Then back at his flag, he thanks all his pards,
For letting him reach old age.

The Flag Out On The Ranch

It is an old and faded flag, but it is always there
For visitors to see it freely waving in the air;
She says , "I always fly it every time I get the chance
Although I know it's strange to see it here on this ranch".

And when you'd ask her about it, her face would beam with joy
She'd tell how she went off to war alongside with the boys;
She said it changed her to a woman and changed her much too fast,
From scenes imprinted in her mind..but that is in the past.

She lost several comrades
But somehow her life was spared;
And pleases her so when folks would fly their flags,
To show that they too, cared.

Then said, "I hope you'll fly one, and never take it down
Even though you're in the country and a long, long way from town;
Because there's still a lot of good ones fighting hard to keep us free,
Although it maybe for a cause in which you disagree".

Now ever since that day when it was explained all to thee
We know just why she flies it when it's just for her to see;
It's to show appreciation for those who gave their best ,
And that flag is always flying on the ranch here in the West.

Happy Birthday USA

So you really think I am weak
Got me outflanked and outnumbered
Surrounded by your exuburance
"Watch out", I say to your kind
For maybe the calvery isn't coming
But you know I won't be afraid
Just look into these country blue eyes
And know they don't make many of us
We're far from cowards, and you will see
We won't run away from our fights
I'm ready..are you?, for at the end of day
You will see my flag still lofted high
Those stars and stripes still flying
And waving over many fields of glory
To our Lord, our Country, our Breathern
***Happy Birthday -- USA!***
