Sugar

Sugar comes from sugar cane and when it is refined it is processed for use in all sorts of food, the world relies heavily upon it's use in sugary treats, jellies and of course chocolate and the children love it, so do adults. Now here's the bad news. Sugar if heated turns black and becomes a form of poison, it can destroy people's teeth and in extreme cases it can hospitalize people due to high sugar levels, the cause is Diabetes, which can damage many parts of the body, the evil god called Sugar can literally snuff out your life if you are not careful, yet the world relies on it like a huge drug problem. Like other addictions, once you are hooked on sugar it is for life, Your life. Sugar is promoted so much while the world is suffering with unhealthy bodies. We need to cut the sugar or death may be the final result.

Weight

You make me laugh
then again you
make me think
that being
overweight is
not a sin.
You look at me
and say your
not as heavy
as you seem
to think you
are no belly
in the way for
y o u.
Just a sense
of humor that
does shield
you from the
pain of not
fitting in
because if you
could you
would count
it a win.

A little chat

My heart woke me in pain last night,

My mind was awake having coffee and writing in dreams, how can I help? come here, sit! I´m listening.

Heart said: why?

You´ll never know, don´t ask stupid questions, did it hurt?

Yeap, it did. It wasn´t fair ...you know, I don´t wanna...

Did he do it on purpose? No, I´m sure he didn´t.

Then, sing and come here, let´s write together, Solitude will come in a while ...ah you silly! don´t be afraid, we will not leave you alone in darkness, you have us, we´ll always protect you.

The end.

The Alien

The Alien came
took over my body.
I went to the Doctor
scared, pacing in
the waiting room.
My Heart racing.
They call me back and
into a room I went.
The nurse had everything ready
when the Doctor came in.
His words to me minor discomfort.
Li er!!
Does the executioner say relax,
before the prisoner is executed!
Just days to live go through my mind.
The Doctor is finished.
A week later I'M back to
Hear the Doctor tell me the test results.
He looks at me from across His desk.
I smile and say,
I'M ready to fight this cancer alien!

"R.E.M"

In the suspension of consciousness
Exits the 3rd stage.
In the midst of a lessen sense of awareness
Next phase is me, my presence is intense,
As I grasps my one member audience on the center stage.

Scientists have given me the name REM.
"Rapid eye movement."
I'm where dreams commence.
The mind pens stories on the endless reems of parchment .

The brain is very active under my reign.
With an electroencephalograph one can bare witness to the cerebrum maestro's composition

I'm known as active or paradoxical sleep
Whether it be for minutes or hours you'll be submerged in the deep.
In that moment you're a prisoner, mines to keep.

About this poem:
My friend asked me to write a small skit... poem on REM- Rapid Eye Movement, the 4th stage of sleep.

This was my attempt.
I tried to give REM a humanistic portrayal.

Any advice?

Fear Not

Who made us begin this game we call life?
why should i feel im held by the throat with a knife?
Could i kill the man who enslaved us all?
live freely or will this confine us all
will these walls ever be knocked down ?
will the violence really ever be controlled ?
I think not, lennon imagines all the people
Imagine the ones that are dead
killed innocently by our so called justice system
which is based on violence, no peace no peace!
is our grave the only resting of peace allowed in this sad state of america
whose to blame for this crisis only ourselves
For not standing for what we believe
There is no fight for the ones who fear

Tick... Tock... Clicks the clock...

Tock.. Tick.. Lounder it shifts..

Boom. Boom. Reverberations loom.

Bang!Bang! Echoes gang.

BEEP-BEEP! BEEP-BEEP! ~ Snooze hitting sleep...

Lacked by the insomniac greeted by attack,
Chirps roaring wrath while rays rising rend..

In the end,

another sleepless night at the expense of a poem.

Hear my cries

Demons in my mind wont rest
Silence when I sleep at best
Tormenting me in the morning hour
Stealing from me all my power
Putting words in my head
Convincing me I would be better of dead
Feeding me all manner of lies
Not giving a stuff about my cries
Finally going to sleep I bid ye farewell
Free for a moment from my internal hell

Breath

Drawing slowly and deeply exalting it's life .
A giving force of exaltation. Breathe a deep sigh giving
Fullness of power and Might. As. Gentle
As a morning doves flight .
A misty stillness lingers throughout the night.
Caressed by its gentle coolness to fufill
Its course in life. A lover's Destiny to embrace life.

~~~~~STRENGTH~~~~~
Is there a cure, she cries out,
so many give their time to walk.
And possibly raise money for the
cure as so many are still at fight.
To know when it will be all over so
many in wonder why she or why it
is her with all of the pain.
The many doctors treat with chemo
and still no end to all cost of ones
pain.
It was caused by a cell that became
cancer some last from it and others
survived.
Without you she would
not have survived the cure~~~~~~&
