Fairies

Down in the woods
deep in the glen
is our fairy home
a place of wonder
hid from human eye

some think us a myth
a tale for kids
be that as may be
we are just hidden
tucked away from sight

when a fairy ring
you find, pause
look around
feel the beat
of fairy wings

if you wish to see
our fairy queen
a special stone
you will need
to go to the brook

search there carefully
and you will find
a glamour stone
this will enable you
to espy her or us

through the hole
you must look
magically now
we will appear
clear as day

maybe, maybe
a wish we
will grant you
if we think you
have been good

About this poem:
this is a fascinating subject I find. Buried in myth some say Fairies watch over all things to do with nature and on that I agree
Others think fairies are creatures of mischief personally I think thats the Imps.
Others say, they are creatures of spite and malicious I can't agree with this. How can such a beautiful thing be that way I know a romantic I am but still.
To goblins and the like go such things as spite and malice.
Glamour Stone this is a stone found at the bottom of a brook that has a self bored hole in it made by the tumble of the Brook's water.
Not one found on the beach or made by sea
legend tells us that if you look through the hole of a glamour stone a fairy you will distinctly see
haven't tried it before ask you sometimes its best to let legends remain legends.
Did you know that in early legends they did not have wings but floated around on leaves and backs of birds? Only since Victorian Times have they been accredited with wings
yes I myself do believe in fairies

A look

As I look at myself, i look deep into you and see my heart is in your hands. As i reach for my heart. You step back out of reach and when i look into your eyes. I see a piece of my life is gone in you. I try to move on but then i see you and another piece of my heart falls to the ground and shatters. Little bit by little bit, I see through you but my heart that is so empty opens up to you, but in the end I still have nothing.

Framed

The world outside
is framed by the
window only letting
but a little in.
The sun shines in
bringing the joy
of the outside to
your bedside.
It wakens you
up in the morning
and sets your day
in motion.
May the beauty
of nature always
lift your soul.
If you every find
it down low.

Sensual Duet.....

Rain falls
a steady percussion
of hollow drops
on the metal roof
invoking a dreamy feeling
firelight dances with shadows
upon the walls
in an intimate display
pitch crackles as the fire burns hotter
my hand in yours
as you pull me to you
to the sheepskin rug by the fire
your clear blue eyes gaze into mine
lips hovering just a whisper away
electricity flows between us
almost visible
in it's intensity
I sip the wine you poured
feeling a heady rush
sweet and warm
our bodies so heated
from the fires that rage
inside and out
your fingers curl around mine
taking the glass
as you lean close
settling your lips gently on mine
hands tangling in my hair
kiss deepening
as the rain and fire
sing a sensual duet
nothing else matters
just this moment
just this kiss
just you and I

Jack o lantern

It is halloween and all is dark
Ghost and goblins make their mark
The sounds at the cemeteries are eerie
holding hands I can see clearly
Trick or treat all is out
Soft spoken ghosts sometimes shout
I walk by the lake and ponder my past
The delightful costumes what a cast
Spiderman is flying down the escarpment
I can see the Hulk from my apartment
I look out and see the moon
Thrilling darkness all too soon
The Batsignal is shining bright
Caped crusaders up for the fight
Exciting times are now ahead
a time of happiness breaking bread
Jack o lantern what is in store
Halloween Havic I just adore

Love her tender

Love her tender when she
cries a lonely tear
Love her tender in raging
seas of fear
Love her in all her glorious
mystery
Love the chapters of her epic
history
Love her tender in midnight
hours
Love her tender like morning
flowers

The Campfire

Orange flames dance an flicker around
Sending hot embers to the ground
Enticing music an people do abound
For the campfire has been found

Under the nights speckled sky
People an swags they do lie
Unleashing tension with a sigh
Absorbing the brilliance of nature's high

There is a freshness in the air
But the warmth of the fire does take care
Crackling timbers it does bare
Plumes of smoke billowing everywhere

Drifting off to meet the star
Dissolving in night before it gets too far
Sound of nostrils flaring from afar
The night is perfect there is no marr

Joyous sounds of music shared
Uniting people who have cared
To make the journey an have bared
The campfire the flames have flared

If when the city runs you down
Head to the bush where some have found
The campfire an the illuminous starbound
Brings meaning to life an keeps you aground

Veterans

My dad was in the Navy
He went to Italy and Iceland
He served from 1954 to 1958
He didn't like Iceland because it was so dark part of the year
He regretted not staying in
Especially when his company cancelled his retirement pension in 1981
At the time he made his decision he was making good money
Better than he got paid in the Navy
How was he supposed to know the unions would get creamed
He is not alone
Sadly, many veterans don't get the support they should have
I hope that could change
Maybe next year
We will elect a president who really cares about these people
As much as they care about all of us

About this poem:
I will be voting third party because I don't see either party supporting our veterans with the respect they deserve.

The Time Say Goodbye Is Hardest

The idea of forever is kind of ridiculous, which is unfortunate because it's kind of a nice thing to say, you know. I think it softens the blow of mortality and having to say goodbye to everything you know and everyone you love and all that kind of thing. Quote - Conor Oberst

The time to say goodbye is hardest
When countless strength expires
And hours fades into nothingness
You're left in a womb of pain
At the realm of hope's decrease.
The shadows loom above the ceiling
The sun wafts in its last light
The hands of death parades the room
From the vacant isles pulsed with silence
The sirens echoes from the distant
The death bells like a heron sounds
This unimaginable pain leaves me breathless
The windows quivers, iced up with dew
Slow - breath replays , in constant days of dread
I've longed for peace in the darkness
Thro' pain's increase, memories recite
The dead yesterdays of joys sweet.

The time to say goodbye is hardest
I long to smell the ever green grass again
And to hear the language of the seas
Once more in the mezmerizing moment, of the
Ever changeless sun on the realm of heaven
To breathe the free mist of the mystic flowers
To run with the winds, and to feel its warm pulse
In all the earth aglowed with spring
This feeling overwhelms me
To hear my father's voice again, across
The deep quietude of the ever dreamy river.

The time to say goodbye is hardest
The battling days are long
The nights grow cold and weary
Nothing matters but this one necessity
To breathe free again
Oh to breathe free again
The sweet air undisturbed
To be liberated from this long drawn pain
This flourishing sickness unabated
That has graced me for so long.

The time to say goodbye is hardest
The colour of the room is soft
Soft as the song bird's sweet cheer
Perhaps my thoughts draws me back
To the voice of violins and entralling
Blisses 'neath moon's silk hush to breath's delight
To think that I'd favor here than home
Death than the splendor of life
Is but a sordid insanity.
A freshly home cooked meal
Times spent with friends and family
The joyful laughters
The hugs , the endless kisses
Its sobriety enskies
this languid heart of mines.

The time to say goodbye is hardest
My eyes are wet with fresh remorse
The drips are coursing thro' my veins
The injection leaves me weary
I'm a soldier in this war
How often have I died
How often have I clung
To a strand of breath and hope
But as I look back
On the splendor of all my life
My heart would spring
A ceaseless smile
Thro' the valleys of my pain
Whilst my fervent prayers ascend
To a distant sky, relinquished
Of its glow, then so suddenly
I'm at peace in life's carousel.

About this poem:
A near death experience hospitalised has inspired this poem. A pretty tough way to start the year uh. Ive met up with some incredible persons in there who was kind enough to share their experiences with me. One of them unfortunately passed away. The point is when you think that your problems in life is terrible theres always someone out there to top yours. So cherish and appreciate your blessings as small as they may be and live life to the full because one day you may never get that second chance.
Thanks for perusing my poem.
