In The Lovely Town Of You And Me

In the lovely town of you and me
People live so happily
The presence of somewhere special is in the air
Smiling faces are everywhere

An early morning cup of coffee
And in the afternoon maybe a cup of tea
Everything is going swell would you stop and sit for a spell
In the lovely town of you and me

The park has lots of pretty flowers
With little shelters for little showers and when raindrops fall
It's no mystery why couples fall in love
In the lovely town of you and me

No there is not much to do
Talk and be yourself and if you want slip off your shoes
Conversations happen naturally
In the lovely town of you and me

Car Repairs

The rear window won't defog
The wheel is making a grinding noise
The brake light is on and it's a mean looking red
The engine light is on
The brake light is on
The engine gasket is leaking oil
The muffler is making noise
The car got hit and the trunk has a huge dent
The car is rusting real bad where you fill the car with gas
The speedometer won't work
The windshield wipers won't go all the way down
The console is cracked
The car is rusty in spots, especially underneath
The headlights are foggy
The car doesn't get more than 24 miles to the gallon
The suspension is shot, so the tires wear down when it bounces
The radio keeps eating my tapes
But
I'm saving a few bucks by not buying brand new

SIGNS OF NATURE.

The setting sun, the welcomed dawn
Sunlight creeping, over fresh cut lawn
Light twinkles, from on high and masked
Through canopy of trees, that won't last

Shadows and breeze, ripple and play
Change concept, throughout the day
Twilight halts, like a candle snuffs
Allowing darkness, over earth to brush

Time to rest, many consider sleep
Replacing energy, enthusiasm leap
Creatures and humans, need time
Nature works her magic, sends sign

Never sleeps, as seasons change
Spring, summer, autumn, winter range
Add rain, sun, wind and snow
Nature's schedule, as we all know

Never resting, cycle goes on
Like many lovers, express in song
Beauty gifted, acknowledged in awe
For all to experience, as emotions soar

Let Your Eyes

Never mind what to say let your eyes do the talking
Never mind right or wrong
Let your eyes do the forgiving

Never mind once we were young and now we are getting old
Just look at me and let your eyes
Touch my soul

I'm no good at this I know and if I keep writing I'll never let you go
Is it wrong should I say so long
Let your eyes do the forgiving

Let your eyes read this love story and when you feel you could cry
Let your eyes do what no one really wants to do
Let your eyes surrender to goodbye

A loving hand

A loving hand placed on our shoulder
Gives us a reason to grow older
Kindness after them being away
Is all we need for our self to stay?
No wind will blow us apart
We are stronger from the start
Being bound by a mutual tether
To survive the most heavy weather

Although our star signs are not the best
Love and understanding will do the rest
To not fall ill of our own mistakes
A little compromise is all it takes
To keep our friend and our lover
Protect us first from each other
Be an example to display
How to love each and every day

No winners

I loved him too and oh what a sin,
I felt suddenly naked before him.
Wanting to be distracted I walked over to the window,
His gaze so direct like footsteps they follow.
That question lingerd in the air,
And suddenly all his attention was here.
In this moment at this time,
He forgot to sip his wine.
They wanted to know on a rainy night when old friends got together,
The question of my first lover.

God he had watched me all night, still polite after so many years,
He felt betrayed but I sensed he somehow still cares.
For years ago when we were lovers he too wanted to know,
But instead of answering I had instantly let him go.
He called,he cursed,he pleaded,
But that was the question on which the relationship ended.

Six pairs of eyes waiting on my reply,
The past came to haunt me and I
wondered why.
My lips open but he was walking over to my side,
"I was." He said boldly, and we both knew he lied.
The group started laughing,
Whispers of I knew it and why then did they break up circulating.

He did the unthinkable and kissed my lips,
Tracing my cheeks with his fingertips.
Cheers and laughter went up
as he eased away slowly.
My world swirled around and I felt dizzy.
In my ear he said"You will always be mine."
Then went back to the others and silently finish his wine.

His eyes showed me raw pain and bottled up passion,
Yet not another word he uttered for this strange class reunion.
Eventually we all left and as I got to my car he appear,
Running an unsteady hand threw his rain soaked hair.

It would kill him if he knew that the one he loved so dearly,
Had raped me so violently.
That the one who invested in his future,
Had ruin mine forever.

But the coward I was I drove away and watched him die again,
Wishing that the past too could be washed away by this rain.

About this poem:
I don't know I just did. I guess I wanted to bring across two hearts that beat as one, that are ment to be together and yet can't be.Soulmates separated. Love is a sacrifice and both lovers sacrificed alot for the other and yet...before them is a bridge/a secret that nobody is sure they can cross and not die.

The Taxi Driver

The lady is very lonely
Doesn't she feel the tears on her cheek
Too bad he left her somewhere on this lonely street

One of her high heels has broken so she walks on her bare feet
The rain has started falling and soon blue memories will be calling
As she walks on the sidewalks of this lonely street

She waves at a taxi he pulls to her side
The raindrops help her tears to hide
Now she's safe and warm sitting in the backseat

The taxi driver is thinking she don't remember me
It seems like a puff of smoke but it was long ago when she said
A taxi driver is all I'll ever be

A Flower Is Born

Every flower must grow through some dirt
Such as the struggle of life knows notoriously
When whisks of winds cloud the half moon
Such tepid swirling of gases are heated
An overhead sun burning so gloriously
All at once in a mid-summertime dream
All attention is drawn or so it seems
Pushes its fragile canopy towards the sky
Escaping from its confines working laboriously
Until at last with as much proper notice taken
Very rare and beautified can not be mistaken
Comes a pleasure earned so meritoriously
And a feeling of joy shared so victoriously

Fan In The Window

An old farmhouse and a fan in the window
The sun is just rising and sunlight is falling
Onto the kitchen floor
Biscuits and gravy are waiting on the table
Rolled up sleeves washed hands
A life I knew from the cradle amen
And the only thing that needs to be said
Is being said by the fan in the window
And off in the distance is the sound of an old pickup truck
And this is good mighty good Lord thank you for waking me up
The dishes will soon be done and work is just outside the door
And when dinner time rolls around the fan in the window
Will seem a little quieter cause we are talking more

Hot Rush

She holds relief;
In her hand;-
A few white grains of rice.

And down that river,
Now she flows;-
Forgetting all her vice.

Just half a minute;-
(Now before),
Her pain;-
It was so real.

Then the soft rose,
A plume of blood;-
And nothing now is sore.

She once believed in Castles,
And of fairies, and of Princes.

Now all she has,
Is this hot rush;-
And a dirty rented room.
