Hoorah for me!
I tried to write every week
Comments on my poems is what I seek
Also to give you something new
I have been writing on here in 2011 which is true
Some are of things I have seen on TV
Some are related to events in the news
Others of events happening in my own life
Some are funny, some wrote with strife
Either way it's been a lot of fun
Coming here and I know I have won
As long as I keep writing, I know I'll have a hit
Because the best advice is, don't ever quit!

Welcome truth into my life
don't let me down and cause me strife
I give my heart with honesty
expecting your sincerity.

We speak of love unseen but heard
can I believe your every word?
My trust has failed me in the past
when hoping this is love at last.

But wait the sands begin to shift
and yet again I'm cast adrift
The truth it seems was just a lie
and once again the love will die.

When will we learn the difference
and try to make our lives' make sense
Is it too much to ask for truth
another Lothario forsooth.

When life comes along and ties you in knots
Don't even think of joining the dots
The gaps in our lives are there for a reason
As we pass along from season to season

Our hearts are quite fragile or so it would seem
So easy to fall for that wonderful dream
But take a deep breathe before you move on
Is the path steady that you walk upon.

So go with the flow and swim with the tide
You've nothing to fear and nothing to hide
Take what life offers if you feel it is wise
It may even offer a special surprise.

The trouble with Reg
is that he sacrifices indulgence
for a choice of martyrdom of the spirit
offered champagne, he will resort to water
when the occasion demands exuberance
he will deftly demand little of himself
life reclining in a beach chair
I make my usual play
under a brooding sun
I order the lobster
from the gaunt waiter
ironically to be trusted on gastronomy
Reg orders clams
a sure move
not character building
but a solid purchase none-the-less
"The birds have flown for winter" I offer
"Is that a title or an observation" he quips
shelling a clam and feigning an interest
in my writing pursuits
that have endured an ageless summer
in retreat from prominence
"For now, merely an observation" I return
He smiles reflectively then offers
"Then I trust you will fulfil its potential in time"
I gather my thoughts as he raises another clam
I gaze far off across the bay
where the wind and tide toy for dominance

Who, I wonder, in this world,
Could ever say and unfold,
Why you created me,
Or how I found you to be.

When I'm with you, it's true,
You make me feel brand new,
You saw within me,
What no one else could see.

Now I know that generosity,
Can put an end to hostility,
And I would chain eternity,
To keep my kindness faithfully.

In the service of good, I'd engage,
If I were to work in your presence,
And anything you would ever ask,
I would give to you with love, even my life.

Perhaps many people don't know,
But without you, I'm hollow,
I'm like a dry desert,
Lifeless and thirsty, I revert.

And when I've been at my hardest,
I always found you, regardless,
You were wherever I've been,
You didn't discard me like waste within.

That's why I want to proclaim,
That you are my God, in name,
Not only in times of bliss,
But also in times of abyss.

The summer sun cast its golden glow upon the sprawling estate, where opulence and grandeur reigned. In the midst of the lavish garden, adorned with vibrant blossoms and cascading fountains, a gathering of elegantly dressed figures indulged in idle conversations and sparkling champagne. Their laughter, tinged with a hint of melancholy, filled the air, blending seamlessly with the melody of a distant jazz band. It was a world where excess and extravagance intertwined, where each moment held the promise of unspoken desires and hidden secrets. And amidst the intoxicating allure of the soirée, I found myself caught in the whirlwind of longing and longing, for within this gilded realm, dreams were born and shattered with equal fervor, and every breath was laced with the heady scent of possibility.

I stood to strong for to damn long, i sat by and watched it all take place, a softened heart among many treasures i hold without a trace i found someone to see not to know dont let go, i walked through forever to find that dove, i carried the pain until she changed lanes and wasted my love, now i am just an old soldier without a gun, standing when i should run, such fun. Today i am now free as not many can see I’m buried underneath my favourite tree thanks to thee.

Life is great. Oh no its not.
You have not seen or wish you forgot.
Not just me it's reality you just don't tell.
Just because it's safe to do so they say.
Bite the hand that feeds will not succeed.
Said priest to altar boy in the basement.

Headlights shine on rain slicken roads
Dotted lines and yellow ribbons glow
Staying between them steady as she goes
Mile after mile going all night
The darkness has only been growing
My thoughts are weighing me down
Waiting to see you again
When I find my way back home
In a quiet country where knowing
When we will be together again
I’ve been gone a long, long time
Drifting from one life to another
Picking up after all the broken lies
Shattered dreams in fields gone by
As helpless now as I am somehow
You have always saved me a seat
Your table overflowing fruits of love
Shared in the harvest gained from above
Maybe, maybe we have something
Created like we had the first time
When we fell down and laughed
In the tall green grasses of late spring
And somewhere in between found love

We sit on the silver back of midnight
a haze in from the Aleutians
where God left a twist
of scale and immensity
with the moon hanging surely
above the creaking dock
timbers dry and seasoned
we cast lines into the wake
and drink from the home-made wine
under the mighty canopy
we are star fueled
philosophy flows
while the crabs scuttle
along the shoreline
