Ccincy: I'm not in the least surpried.

Way back in the very early days of the US invasion, when Karzai was still a mere potential long shot to possibly become an appointee by the US govt. to be put in charge of the new forthcoming US occupation govt. there, one of the interviews published in Time Magazine made the observation that even as a CIA resource, Karzai was held by many at the agency as 'unreliable'. One of the items Karzai mentioned in the interview was that the best possible solution to a protracted war was through a negotiated peace with the Taliban. Seems a lot of people have a case of convenient amnesia, as usual.

I remember al to well when the invasion began heck I watched it on tv when the troops were riding into Baghdad and one of Suddams followers was standing on a rooftop bragging about how all the troops at the airpost had been all killed. And here the troops come in to Baghdad.

If anyone has convenient amnesia I think it's the people who are accusing others of having it.

You have to see the comical side of this equation.

US recruits, arms trains these group of thugs, for it's own reasons to attack the Russian army, after their dragged into Afghanistan to protect their borders.

Israel crates Hammas, the undermine the PLO, who then turn on their former creator, after the prospect of power becomes available.

Britain, Well look at what we've managed in the past, from Asia, to the Middle East.

And now people are surprised after Osama bin Laden has apparently been killed (oh yes, the 9th time he's been killed) when by all accounts he was ill and receiving medical treatment in an American Hospital 2 weeks prior to 9/11 with kidney failure...amongst other things...that the supposed protagonists of the "War on Terror" i.E al-Qaeda/Taliban are being all nice, discovering diplomacy and the War on Terror is now coming to the end.

What happened to the CIA agent who was recently caught trying to pass nuclear material to shall we say fundamentalists recently, trying to Implicate the ISI (that's Pakistans Intelligence) and foster shall we say public opinion on Pakistan.

The Pakistani Government are rightly furious...they handed the British and Americans Cart Blanche access and cooperation within it's borders, even while the cowboys using UAV's were basically killing thousands of Pakistani civilians.
You simply cant treat you allies like that and expect any level of mutual respect....so clearly expect a statement from the Pakistani's saying...."Americans..please go home".

Thus the change in posture.

And as for al-Qaeda.....oh now their apparently in Libya...and their the good guys, helping get rid of what used to be a British Ally.

Now clearly world opinion, coming from an American president, dragged from the most corrupt city in the States, funded out of Wall Street, who got the Nobel Peace Prize for doing nothing whatsoever....who's never ran anything, who continued to bomb people in Pakistan just the same as his predecessor did is now bringing the troops home!

Praise Obama!!! What a joke.....Please please Americans, please please take an interest in history, politics and international affairs, because this wreaks of political posturing...just to get re-elected.

Even Madelaine Albright confirmed Obama was dead years ago, and was about to be wheeled out by GBJr, and she wasn't the only one.

You really all have to kick out all the cronies on both sides of your Government and Senate, that are subverting your own laws...and pouring an almost bottomless pit of lies, deception and debt as a result of the Federal Reserve system on you all.

Do something positive, and please get rid of all the corrupt lunatics and hawks that infest your Government.

Do that, have a genuine leader, clean up your own act at home, and then you might get some modicum of respect from the rest of the world.

You at least owe it to the men and women of your armed forces.

I'm assuming your also aware of his brothers principle occupation...I.E ....apparently the largest drug dealer in the region.

It's going to be interesting to see if he's on the 1st plane back to the States when the withdrawl happens.

I'd speculate that he won't last long if he stays, with the amount of corruption there he's bound to be strung up.

Remember, your Politicians invented the war on terror, and used the excuse to attack Iraq, then Afghanistan.....and why exactly?

From which stated aim?

Al-Qaeda? Eh, they were set up and trained by a branch of the American Government.

The same branch set up and train, and fund i might add the ISI, who consistently get blamed for providing assistance to "Islamic Terrorists".

So your Government sets up and trains and funds terrorists, then funds the means to catch them, which they don't for a decade costing billions of dollars to the US Taxpayer, and even when evidence appears, the American population doesn't riot.

What happened to Pat Tillman? Bad luck????

Perhaps it might be a good piece of advice, to listen to Americans who've been there, and been at the sharp end.

No WMD's/false intelligence/and the resultant deaths in the region, by unarmed civilians are totally unacceptable.

Now successive American regimes are responsible, and yet somehow time and again somehow the American public are duped into electing, frankly these narcissistic, psychopathic lunatics.

Why? Why do you elect people who are less trustworthy than a used car salesman...especially when their caught repeatedly, lying, cheating and crapping all over your constitution?

What is it what will motivate Americans to get rid of these scumbags?

It deeply concerns me, especially as the Intelligence side of the Government basically gets ignored.

Something is badly wrong, and the American public have to do something, before some lunatic decided to pick a new foe for the cycle to start all over again.

The media isn't objective, so won't report the facts, so the people for the most part are uninformed. But without doubt the lowest trick is when someone questions their own Government their immediately rounded apon, being called unpatriotic, or Anti the troops.

Anyone who refuses to address the issues, or resorts to name calling....well those are the actions of a scoundrel, an opportunist and generally someone resorting to the lowest common denominator and they either change the subject, walk out or result to name calling.

Anyone, American or any other Nation on earth should be concerned......but only the Americans can do something about their own Government.....either that or wait till the next disaster.

Which part of history do you want to drag over?

Our mistakes in India, or the Middle East? Palestine?

Which ones...we've made plenty....but were not portraying ourselves as the worlds policeman, going around the globe like wreckless cowboys trying to shall we say destabilise other regimes, for financial benefit, then try to trick the public into the belief that this all has to be done to protect them in the name of National Security.

Btw...the last refuge of someone on the defensive, is someone clearly who refuses to answer the question, or address the points.

When i received my education, I was taught when critical thinking, if you want to deflect the direction of a debate ask questions to someone elses questions.....

And not even a psychology degree will teach you that.

So please, what will it take for you to root out all the corrupt, bought and paid for crooks, who subvert your constitution, wreck the environment, export your manufacturing, and devalue your currency before you will do anything about it?

Or is America now for sale, because the corporations seem to clearly be able to do what they want and it certainly isn't in the publics interest.

Then feel free to ask about the UK.Our corrupt scumbags have gotten away with being caught red handed defrauding the taxpayer.

And you know why they will continue to get away with it...The "Old Boy" network, peoples apathy and their continued campaign to keep issues from being discussed in rational debate.

Exactly.....I have no idea how heir getting away with it.

Granted the media is partisan, and vested interests have their hand in virtually everything, but when you hear the freedom movement in the US and the constant references to the constitution....how the hell is it possible for some 200 plus million Americans to stand by and let a handful of crooks sail their entire country down the tubes.

Now the basis for the revolution as the basis on being a part of the British Empire, was the basis of coinage, interest and being controlled from afar right? (In it's most simplistic terms).

So how taking that into account can the American public accept the Federal Reserve Banking system...which controls the countries money supply.

I just don't know how on earth, with this many so called patriots in the country can the whole system be hijacked by a group of International bankers and yet somehow nobody with integrity does anything about it.

In spite of the thread title, you want to make it about America bashing...9/11 conspiracy theories, WMD, Iraq...topic is about US negotiating with Taliban, good idea/bad idea......

First, it is not just Obama negotiating, it is Obama and Cameron who are desperately trying to "cut" a peace deal with Islamic savages i.e. Taliban... A treaty with them is a joke at best, they are animals...bin Laden is dead, it's time to come home....Nation building there, get real! Once there are no more foreigners to fight, Taliban will gladly fight and slaughter each other, it is what they do...

RobbieM: Remember, your Politicians invented the war on terror, and used the excuse to attack Iraq, then Afghanistan.....and why exactly?

From which stated aim?

Iraq:

to get Iraq to comply with ceasefire terms
- to stop Iraq’s Inadvertence to UNSC resolutions
- to force Iraq to cease it’s violation of human rights
- to stop Iraq’s material breaches of UNSC resolutions
- to end Iraq’s WMD capability and aspirations
- to end repression of Iraq’s civilian population
- to force Iraq to return or cooperate in accounting for Kuwaiti and third country nationals
- to force Iraq to return Kuwaiti property wrongfully seized by Iraq,
- to end Iraqi Support for terrorism
- to show America has the will to help allies and destroy foes
- to depose a regional threat take in Saddam that would have to be dealt with sooner or later
- to force action from SA to take care of it's radicals
- to pressure other regimes in the area not to provide passive or active support to Jihadists
- to position US troops in the region in force to enable that pressure
- to aid their global and NATO mission by placing a Strategic Air Support base
- to support and help create an Arab democracy as an example to others

Afghanistan:

Mr. Bush demanded the Taliban "close immediately and permanently every terrorist camp in Afghanistan and hand over every terrorist and every person in their support structure to appropriate authorities."

He also called for full U.S. access to terrorist training camps in Afghanistan "so we can make sure they are no longer operating."

RobbieM: Al-Qaeda? Eh, they were set up and trained by a branch of the American Government.

Really now. Of course you have a bunch of non freak truther sources to explain how this all occurred as the CIA was not even in Afghanistan when Al Qaeda came into being years after the Soviets had left.

RobbieM:
Israel crates Hammas, the undermine the PLO, who then turn on their former creator, after the prospect of power becomes available.

Wow. Another wild claim. You have some proof to support this though right?

RobbieM: And now people are surprised after Osama bin Laden has apparently been killed (oh yes, the 9th time he's been killed) when by all accounts he was ill and receiving medical treatment in an American Hospital 2 weeks prior to 9/11 with kidney failure...amongst other things...that the supposed protagonists of the "War on Terror" i.E al-Qaeda/Taliban are being all nice, discovering diplomacy and the War on Terror is now coming to the end.

9th time? I recall truthers saying he was killed here and there on a regular basis but only once by a US President.

RobbieM:
Perhaps it might be a good piece of advice, to listen to Americans who've been there, and been at the sharp end.

Petraeus., McCHrystal . Yes, we all should, particularly Obama.

RobbieM: No WMD's/false intelligence/and the resultant deaths in the region, by unarmed civilians are totally unacceptable.

Eighteen thousand deaths in Iraq due to US fire and twenty five million people freed. Never before has warfare provided so much freedom at so little cost.

RobbieM: Which part of history do you want to drag over?

Our mistakes in India, or the Middle East? Palestine?

Please explain the so called mistakes against the backdrop of the times please.

Garbage...Nobody is Bashing Americans, that's the point and how easily some of your are steered.

The problem is with successive American Governments, not the people.

Muslims do not habitually slaughter each other for entertainment, so to castigate them all as animals is at best an insult to the majority.

Let's get this absolutely straight, The Taliban were funded and supported by US Intelligence.

Al Quaeda was created by US Intelligence.....The ISI is funded and trained by exactly the same part of US Intelligence.

Pakistani Intelligence reported back to the CIA, "What are you doing...your paying us, to train people to come here then have them kill your soldiers...it makes no sense".

You know who that comes from? Former head of the ISI and the man who ran the missions in Pakistan, Dr Steve Piecinek M.D.....oh and check his credentials.

These men are not conspiracy theorists, one taught "Psy Ops" and worked for Kissinger, Cyrus Vance and Baker....He also helped set up Delta Force.

This man also worked with Osama bin Laden, in the course of his duties.....so neither of these men are idiots.

Now if you want to believe, frankly political bilge, mindless words like "Nation Building" when your industry is exported, your currency deliberately collapsed and your own military trained and killed on foreign fields, by agents trained and funded and by your own Government.....who let's be honest take the public for fools, then your deluded.

For god sake, don't get your news from Fox TV, think for yourself without falling for complete load of bull.

I guess it's Obama's way of giving the Taliban a big hug so they will stop the killing. It's always wise to negoiate with Terrorist,I mean they are very open minded people. Rollseyes

I think all this negoiating crap is just a political stunt to maybe bring up the approval ratings of Obama and possibly get him re-elected.

Just thought a portion of the song below would be fitting.LOL

Music Song of Harry Belafonte with Muppets.

Work all night on a drink a rum

Stack banana till the mornin' come

Oh, come, Mister Taliban man, tally me banana

Daylight? come and me wan' go home

Me say come, Mister Taliban man, tally me banana

Daylight come and me wan' go home
