r3y5a6: Given the decline of USA's influence over economic, diplomatic relation, popularity aspects plus the continued struggling if not turbulent economy.
Choose what country would likely to become the next Superpower.
none of the above. i believe that the united nations, are going to be set into that postion of world talking head. the original purpose,to fulfill the revelation prophecy,"and all the kings of the earth shall be brought together, into one place, and that shall be called armaggedon"

Albertaghost: Iran has a large army as well but it can't project itself outside it's borders. China will take decades to achieve global reach if ever..
Iran does not have nukes. Iran does not have an army near the size of China. Iran does not have Chinas wealth or man power. Iran does not have the West in its pocket like China.
Albertaghost: I see. So when you take out a loan at the bank it means to you that the bank manager may come to your house, use your wife, television, borrow your car and drink your beer? Tell me, your country owes the US money, do you let US tourists come over and use your wife or sister, drive you car and use your house like a hotel room?..
No he may not. But he may get involved in your financial life in certain circumstances and may impose certain conditions on the loan and more conditions if you need to restructure repayment or need more money. Your comparission is ridicioulas really. Also if you want money from the bank manager again its best to keep on his good side!!!!Money is power.
Albertaghost: Tell me, have you even managed to define what a Superpower is yet? You seem to be lacking factual basis for your ranting so, if you don't like the ones I dug up from the actual people who teach global politics and the guy who originally wrote the book on it, perhaps you have something yourself that will stand up to scrutiny. For a guy who has contributed nothing but stuff out of thin air you sure are asking a lot. I will entertain you one more time..
So you have defined what it is or are you quoting a book from 1946 again??? So you are saying what made a superpower in 1946 makes one now? Thats bull. Then you could say what made a superpower in 500bc makes one now. Times change.
A superpower is the most powerfull or one of the most powerfull nations on earth. They can project their power and influence political decision in other areas of the world. In this day and age that power can be projected in many ways. Through military, through money, through aid and through business deals. China fits all the above. You keep quoting other people as you obviously dont have the brains for an opinion of your own!

venusenvy: Thats true Life...Brazil is really emerging in the world market...They are definately becoming a contender
No doubt China is in a very good position to be an economic leader. However, how long would China sustain its level of macroeconomics-development? Would the younger generations being willing to sacrifice and to work loooong hours, to sleep in their work places……as their parents are doing? I do not think so.
For the human rights in China –including Tibet´s-, human rights and economics do not hold hands.
On the other hand, who holds the biggest influence on the markets? Including the money markets?
More than one-country being a superpower it is going to be a group of countries.

Point is, Iran cannot project. Either can China. When as the last time you exchanged a dollar or Euro for a yen? When was the last time you encountered a Chinese or Iranian in a bar? On the street? How about the last time you saw a Chinese or Iranian military aircraft land an airport? A warship in or around your waters?

If he pressures you then you may just say the hell with it and not even bother to repay. That would be his worst fear and, a reason why he would be wise to treat you well.

Actually it's been updated and, I provided the credentials and quotes to you long time ago in this thread. BTW, the guys who provided it have spent their life learning and teaching this stuff to the very leaders who are Superpowers. But of course, you know far more than heads of Global Political institutions.

You mean China fits your tailor made, self written definition.

You really don't have a large IQ do you? I have just explained about 5 times how China projects power! It is using its economic might! And we are talking about the NEXT Superpower! Maybe the Renminbi will be the main worldwide currency in the future! YEN IS Japanese by the way!!!! Shows what you know. I encounter many Chinese people every day in Ireland, in all sorts of places! China uses its money and trading position to project its power. Is that really so hard for you to understand. ?????

Riiiiiight.
Well if the US or EU does not repay its loans its credit rating drops and its interest rate on future loans rises thus costing them money. Do you know anything at all about economics?? But I suppose you did think China used the Yen and the world wants American cars! You still have not provided proof that man coined the phrase either. You are basically a dim witted man who is full of hot wind. You get all your info from Wiki as you don't have the knowledge to have an opinion of your own.!

Strange, I don't see any here. And I get around pretty good.

You have not provided any proof of any sort except some self written tailor made definition to fit your silly contention. Please provide something authoritative with link and quote so you can continue with your bogus contention.
