We know that scientists cloned some animals already ,and there always been questions about human cloning. But as its against human rights ethics and religion ,officially its not happening. But what we know?Could goverments secretly clone humans for some secret purposes or may be some mad scientists working on it in their secret labs?

Probably if it hasnt been done so far it will be done soon and the world will be told at a later point when it is more acceptable by the society. For sure they allready clone human organs for wealthy sponsors.

I only hope they`d hurry up ,I wanna order 7 Alexis Texas
The first hybrid human clone was created in November 1998, by Advanced Cell Technologies. It was created from a man's leg cell, and a cow's egg whose DNA was removed. It was destroyed after 12 days. Since a normal embryo implants at 14 days, Dr Robert Lanza, ACT's director of tissue engineering, told the Daily Mail newspaper that the embryo could not be seen as a person before 14 days. While making an embryo, which might have resulted in a complete human had it been allowed to come to term, according to ACT: " aim was 'therapeutic cloning' not 'reproductive cloning'"
On January, 2008, Wood and Andrew French, Stemagen's chief scientific officer in California, announced that they successfully created the first 5 mature human embryos using DNA from adult skin cells, aiming to provide a source of viable embryonic stem cells. Dr. Samuel Wood and a colleague donated skin cells, and DNA from those cells was transferred to human eggs. It is not clear if the embryos produced would have been capable of further development, but Dr. Wood stated that if that were possible, using the technology for reproductive cloning would be both unethical and illegal. The 5 cloned embryos, created in Stemagen Corporation lab, in La Jolla, were killed.
In May, 2013, a group of scientists published a report of successful human cloning. The approach involved the somatic cell nuclear transfer from human fibroblasts to oocytes and resulted in viable embryos developing to the blastocyst stage. The authors managed to obtain embryonic stem cell from the blastocysts which can lead to therapeutic cloning. It remained unclear however if the cloned embryos are capable of further development as no such experiments were attempted.
In bioethics, the ethics of cloning refers to a variety of ethical positions regarding the practice and possibilities of cloning, especially human cloning. While many of these views are religious in origin, the questions raised by cloning are faced by secular perspectives as well. Perspectives on human cloning are theoretical, as human therapeutic and reproductive cloning are not commercially used; animals are currently cloned in laboratories and in livestock production.
I hope not..........I am unique and one of me is enough! Would not oppose of course if Chris Daughtry was cloned and his clone sent here for a vacation!

Margo19991: Yes, I think some scientists may try to do it somewhere in their laboratory cave. I hope they will never succeed.
Cloning a human the way most people think of it: Getting a Human from the same human is not possible, yet or the Cubans would have had Fidel for loooooong time.
However, the embryonic stem cells could improve and save the life of people who can afford it.
"....The undifferentiated embryonic stem cells are next stimulated to differentiate into the desired type of cell. For this, the cells are allowed to clump together to form embryoid bodies. This helps them differentiate spontaneously. They make nerve cells, heart cells, brain cells, muscle cells and other types of cells...."
And just because I can not afford to get those cells in case I needed them should no-one get them?
No.
There will come the time when that Biotechology will be affordable to most as it is right now for many things.
Also, there is a huge bank of stem cells from the ublical cord blood of new born children, for them to be used in the future if needed and for experimentation and use for scientific reasons -and some profit as well to pay for next research-.
lifeisadream - I wrote about cloning the whole person, making the copy of him. Embryonic stem cells are being used now in many research towards medicine, and this is another kind of story
I have little doubt that it has been done many times ... but it is unlikely that any scientist will put their hand up ... professional suicide! If something can be done there will always be someone who will do it. By this time there are probably many human adult clones being hidden away in laboratories.

I think it's much more fun producing another human being in the orthodox manner
