2intrigued: Hiya CC Thing is, this is supposed to be a dating site so if the focus is entirely on political and religious propaganda, maybe those folks can find another website that caters to it.
Hi 2in,It doesn't appear to be a dating site to me.
The title should be re-titled Disconnecting Singles.
Don't people who are on dating sites or most sites talk about religion and political stuff?
I used to belong to a hunting/fishing where there was many topics simliar to what is on here.No one ever complained they just posted on to whatever there topic there was.If they didn't like a topic they would stay off it.
KremaP: I agree that many threads are at the wrong places and it becomes annoying... There are two forums especially for politics and religion and it will be good if all the topics about those two are discussed at the proper forums... Participating is of personal choice, nobody is forced to do so...
Hi Darling Well said as usual - Your sharp brain is as beautiful as you and I love your Spitfire 20mm Cannon wit ratatatatatatat whwn you lock on to a target.
I can only imagine the purr of your Merlin voice at idling revs when relaxed, raising to the growl of a Griffon when you let rip at full chat

Disconnecting Singles sounds about right No problem talking about anything including politics and religion it's when there's over two dozen threads flooding the forums with it that causes upset for quite a few folks here. People have attempted to keep some positive topics going only to have them forced down the list with the flooding. I know one thing for certain, had I just discovered CS today and read the forums, I would not have joined. I rarely post these days.

By the way darling, I am buying a new, gorgeous, powerful new machine....and I am damn excited... Nothing can spoil that moment, yeahhhh....
stringman: yes, never did use it I think it was shut down when I joined CS . but I know of another sight that had forums but discontinued it, to much fighting.
I found out yesterday that a hunting/fishing I used to belong had been shut down for one reason or another.
Probably from fighting cause I used to witnessed a lot of it.

the non political and religious topics fall off because members don't find them interesting enough to post in. the participation rate determines the success of a particular thread topic. if all here really thought as you did, the Majority would easily be able to keep (in your opinion) positive topics at the top. some feel that political and religious threads are positive and find them to be interesting enough to post in rather then a thread topic of what is your favorite color.

Yes, and it will be blizzard conditions in Miami....perhaps the ideal solution is for CS to establish a separate website for all the political and religious lunatics and their rants; separate those topics from the main Forums totally...or perhaps the NSA, CIA, FBI and all the others in the alphabet soup directly monitor those 2 subjects so they can remove those posters for in depth interrogation and one of their many sites throughout the US, then dispose of them in special sanitariums that can render emergency psychiatric treatments for several years......good riddance...

Yes and no, some members here create threads and then it seems the number of pages it achieves, is more important than the contents, so they post, repost, multiple posts etc just to make sure it remains in the top ten and gains more pages. Childish of course, but in the 10 odd years I have been a member here, it is becoming more and more common.
I think the religious/Political threads are both interesting and give a real picture on how posters personalities and cognitive process work.
You often see the real person when they lose an argument

"more important"
your comment is simply YOUR perception and i tend to get something out of just about all posts a poster takes the time to write.
"You often see the real person when they lose an argument"
so true... when i see someone banned from a thread and they post in the say anything thread and whine about their being banned.
