I'm curious about what people are doing. There are people who are against any type of vaccinations, so where does this virus stand with them ??? Do they change their beliefs, knowing that it perhaps could save their life ?
Not sure where you’re at, but here, in my county, things APPEAR * to me to be somewhat ‘arbitrary’. That is, open to interpretation. So, some of us medical professionals, retired and active, have been/ and are, told conflicting data and information. It’s really, really tough. At the current moment (what’s THAT..) it is prioritized of “80 and up”, then 70 and up”, and then patients with compromised immune systems, insulin- dependent diabetics, ad en...for Covid related vaccination. The waters are murky— doctors who haven’t seen patients for years may be asked to provide a patent portfolio— it’s crazed beyond belief...pray for resolution, my friends...

Distribution and Vaccinations are going smoothly here by cdc guidelines. Some folks don’t want it. Regardless, if we have more available the better. I guess Johnson and Johnson one-shot vaccines are approved now. I hear twenty to forty-year olds might get the J n J vaccines. Only crazy things I see here in the midwest are the weather conditions medical professionals and volunteers deal with outside in the cold to get peoples arms full of the vaccines. I sprung a leak when I got my first injection. A lot of paperwork and follow up detail is involved but they are getting it done.
It is a matter of choice and yes people on here and elsewhere rant about people's rights and conspiracy theories but if we don't deal with whatever ails us across the globe it will be hanging around for years.
Whether I am under an illusion or not I've had mine,it hasn't changed me , and will have the second if not for myself then the fact that I hopefully won't become ill and possibly die and also won't pass it on to others

Yes, I had mine a month ago, and only suffered a slightly sore arm.
I would advise people to have it you have nothing to lose and a lot to gain, for yourself and for other people. I can't understand this selfish attitude of refusing it.
Vaccine nationalist I am not. Does a virus care about national barriers? I suspect not considering it's not even human. This virus calls the whole world home.

Watch out, post-covid vaccination your DNA now will be modified so bad that in a few weeks you will look like Pete and subsequently talk like him too on CS. I always wondered what he looked like before he took the British vaccine for bubonic plague.

You talk about looks, I suddenly realised who you look like, a pink Shrek, Take off a few Covid pounds Gal
Another reason not to be a vaccine nationalist is because this is our fault as much as it China's. The global poor would have carried on throughout this crisis being strong people with a happier future ahead in stark contrast to our aging population of technocratic ghouls.
If nothing else we must convince what few young people we have left that they are in fact really old and feeble. Liable to collapse under the slightest of difficulty. Young men particularly must not be forced into this position of an old woman kept by future generations.

It is a shame that the next generation will be paying for a lifetime to get us out of this pickle, a little gift from the baby boomers
Plus it might help us make some new friends with Trump gone and the EU behind us. I hope Britain chooses not to be so frugal with the old vaccinations. Giving my dose to the old man from Peru is a form of foreign aid that I actually like.

You’re fortunate to live in a state that can boast internationally high- ranking hospitals. The University Of Ohio Wexner Teaching Hospital and The Cleveland Center(s) are considered vanguard medical services. ( part of my on- going research in the field of practical nursing required electives directly related to hospital milieu, and along with Nortwestern , The Mayo Clinic, and St. Jude, Ohio is a very much preferred state to obtain a medical degree, a registered nursing degree, and a practical nursing degree. Many of my CEU’s ( college- level continuing education units) included syllabuses from Cleveland. These were accepted without hesitation, whereas some other regional units were picked apart. I had one honkin’ career— kept me extremely busy..) Thanks for taking your time to address these important circumstances). To all- please pray for two families on my street. One is a corrections officer at a state prison and they are closing it, and he cannot possibly re- locate, and he’s still relatively young and rearing three children. Another- the mom is a substitute teacher ( but for years has worked pretty much full- time) was just terminated. I’m helping a bit, as I can. Oh, they’ll be all right, it’s just making a huge hole in their home economics. How I wish to God this thing would be over...blessings..
I wouldnt get a covid shot. a dang vaccine that was rushed thru the testing phase. not enough produced to give to everyone and of course the stupidity ppl think oh i got the shot i'm safe now. when its a total waste of time.a vaccine is a waste of time. a cure would be a much smarter thing they should work on. what aboutt all the ppl that die from the regular flu. cancer covid just got a chance to get more tv time.

its a very compromising and troubling set of circumstances right now, and there really are conflicting observations and points- of-view; and all valid...everyone has a right to see and feel situations as they wish. I don’t have the answer, my friend. Prayer helps..
AGuyUnique: Yes, I already got both shots of the Moderna mRNA vaccine. It was no big deal, no side effects or bizarreness.
Right now I'm making plans to travel more now that our winter chaos is over and I'm supposedly producing anti-bodies for COVID-19.
Did you promedicate with pain meds or take any nsaids like ibuprofen or celebrex before getting your covid vaccines? I read that these meds can reduce the efficacy and any reaction post injections. Most medical professionals here received the maderna two shot vaccine and they felt sick for awhile after receiving each one. I have shot one of pfizer and I only experienced a sore arm.
lonelytiger68: a dang vaccine that was rushed thru the testing phase.
Actually the human testing was not rushed. The testing for a normal vaccine in normal times is a 2 month study. Both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines had the normal, full 2-month studies done on them.
And what's interesting is with a normal vaccine the number of humans the tests/study is done/experimented on is quite low/small -- a small number just to limit liability lawsuits in case something goes wrong.
But with the urgency of the COVID-19 vaccines the studies/tests were done on a massive amount of people in multiple countries on multiple continents (especially the Pfizer vaccine!) -- that's very different than the normal vaccine procedure.
The main thing that was rushed was the peer review and gov't oversight. That is the rushed part and where bureaucracy was cut.
Now, with the massive numbers of people being injected, we'll see very quickly if there are problems.
And after months, we're only seeing different vaccines being more or less effective for the "variant"/mutations of the virus that are popping up -- things the vaccines were not designed for.
What's likely to happen is we'll need "booster" shots to cover the variants. That's the same thing about how we need a new/different flu shot every year (the common flu is also a coronavirus).
What's pathetic is that taxpayers (mainly US, but also German and British) paid to develop these damned vaccines yet Pfizer and Moderna are allowed to make massive profits from them! And if we need boosters Big Pharma is going to be laughing all the way to their repeated trips to their bank.

I got the 2 shots of the Moderna vaccine and had nothing butt the sore arm. No flu-like symptoms or other oddities.
From what I've read some people's immune system will react to the vaccine, it just depends on the person. It's odd, because unlike the traditional flu shot, the mRNA-based vaccines of both Moderna and Pfizer contain none of the actual virus.
