Miss_Cellaneous: I was happy to receive my 1st vaccination but having chatted to my friend today, makes me wonder. Her friends who are in their 80's had their jabs done last December. Their daughter who is in her early 50's delivers their food etc..as she is in their "bubble". Their daughter contracted the virus. Her elderly parents caught it from their daughter even after having their covid shots. The father was admitted to hospital as he suffers from COPD. They are both doing well now but their daughter is fighting for her life in intensive care. They don't think that she will survive. So do we take the vaccine or not?. I'll take my chance on having my 2nd shot. It may not stop you contracting it but hopefully not as bad. We can only hope
I’ve decided to get vaccine as I feel it’s the right thing for me a few of my friends have decided not to get it which I fully respect.

I had my 1st shot done last week. The AZ one. Booked in for the 2nd one 11th May. I was just shocked that the elderly couple caught the virus having had their shots. Admittetly they didn't get it badly but all the same, I think that people should be made aware that the vaccine won't stop you contracting the virus. The flu shot doesn't stop you contracting flu. It just stops you being really ill with it. Nothing is 100%bouquet

I’m not sure which vaccine I will receive yet won’t know till I arrive at the hospital, but that information has been circulated here by the HSE they advise you can still get the virus and spread it just symptoms won’t be as serious if you do catch it.
The roll out of vaccine is a disaster here so we still have a long road ahead of us

As a Biologist I am VERY curious about ALL of the "New" Vaccines - especially since the process is TOTALLY new - NEVER been tried and therefore WE are the trial subjects! UInder "normal" situations' trials are required and may last for 5-7 years. BUT the "Pandemic" has forced a special regulation into play where no "trials" are done. Interviews with Dr. Sherri Tenpenny show this to be true - "A Shot In The Dark" a YouTube vid says it all. This is true for ALL of the mRNA-based 'vaccines'. As she points out, this is NOT a typical vaccine but a "Genetic Modifier" which can have MANY Adverse affects on the human body including autoimmune reactions, harm to the heart and lungs, etc. Other Doctors have testified to Congress about these "New" 'vaccines' versus repurposed drugs such as Ivermectine. However, this drug has been around and is NOT a "Big Pharma cash-maker" like the "new" 'vaccines'. I am NOT an "anti-vaxer"!!!!! But I AM VERY concerned about what I put into my body especially when it 'messes' with my Genes!!!!! DO YOUR RESEARCH! Don't do it because "it's convenient!

I'm high risk..I'm all for vaccinations but I think I will be too scared because I'm concerned my windpipe might have an allergic reaction.

Have you discussed the issue with your GP? (Or whatever it's called in your country.) Do it!

The problem is that the majority, that had Covid-19, got very mild symptoms. But, as you certainly know, some people died of it. Granted, the majority of those, who died, where old and fragile or had a lot of comorbidity, and would have died of any other severe illness, like lung inflammation. But there is an emerging group of people, not especially old or fragile, who had Covid-19 and still suffering quite unpleasant consequences months after.

The data suggests that the vaccinated are protected against the severe consequences of Covid-19. I do trust the data.

As a "Biologist" you should be aware that the covid vaccines have been around for years, they are NOT NEW, nearly modified vaccines that have been fully tested.
As for your comment regarding "'messes' with my Genes" just proves you are no biologist as the covid vaccine does not change or affect any genes.

DO SOME RESEARCH BEFORE POSTING UTTER TRIPE!!!

There was always going to be an emerging group of wallowers. Not all women, but most. It's why they say man flu when they know we're actually quite ill, and like we know that covid kills more men. If there's something going around a woman just has to be that, and it has to be a big deal. It's like fashion. It's the style to behave in such a way.

The only side effects I had were an ache in the muscle where I received the shot, a slight headache, and some fatigue for a day or two. Oh yeah, I almost forgot about the third testicIe I now have.

Had the Pfizer jab and no side effects at all. Right arm a tad stiff that's all. Other pals have had the Astra Zenica and did have side effects for a couple of days such as headaches and feeling cold and achy.

I've had flu jabs affect me more so all in all I feel good.

P.S. Look after your Polyorchidismgrin

I believe in data but my concern now is most countries have put a stop to the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine because of concern about blood clots..Australia is going against the majority by continuing to play Russian roulette..I stand by the majority till more data is extensively looked into

I agree with you Merc. I've had blood clots and it wasn't pleasant when I had to go in the hospital to have blood drawn every four hours for five days to see if the medication was working. After awhile my veins went flat and it was painful to push the needle in mumbling

I look at it as a personal decision....We each do what we think is the right thing for us...I would never shame someone for not getting it...nor, should they shame me for getting it....

I work in the real world...Since, the mask mandate is no longer in effect in my county, I have people without masks coughing in my face....without (what we are taught as children) to cover their mouth with the inside of their arm..so, I am protecting myself.

Have a good day Mikey.

Birth control pills cause blood clots, it's a known side effect, but no one worries about it as it affects only women.

AstraZeneca's vaccine isn't more or less dangerous, than any other. It doesn't make you immortal or prevent getting some comorbidity you'd get anyway. "Post hoc" doesn't automatically mean "propter hoc".

But, of course, the choice is yours.

I'm fully vaccinated now against the current original virus. No side effects.

I will still mask and observe precautions as long as recommended.

If future variants should become a widespread issue, I'm curious if there will be vaccines for them too. If so, I'll get my jabs.

For those people mentioned by the OP who are "against any type of vaccinations," I would remind them of polio, smallpox and other scourges from which we were effectively protected by vaccines.teddybear

Blood clots are caused by Covid & that would be the least of my problems..My doctor told me I'm at risk of an anaphylactic reaction.
