It is his main rally theme now. That the REP drove the car into the ditch, a deep ditch. Some how were able to survive the crash and now are standing on the road drinking a slurpee, while he (and fellow DEM) strain to get the car back on the road.
That is was a GWB and REP caused economic crisis of 2008. But assume it was. Does President Obama and the DEM billions in spending pull, push or lift the car onto the road again? Or does it bury the car in the ditch?
President Obama has take a real economic gamble with his spending. With no project shovel ready, he went ahead to sign the checks. A question you, own home....it needs some work....a addition and paint job. Would you sign the check to the general contractor without a plan of the addition? Would you sign a check to the painter, with out seed the color of paint he is going to use?

The FED government just award 2.4b for high speed rail. Florida got 808m and CA got 916m.....some other 52 parties got awards down to 2m. Is this money that will actually build high speed rail? No. It is FED contribution to the design and planning of high speed rail. Meaning When President Obama came to Florida several month ago....and pushed the State into a multi billion dollar high speed rail program...to the tune of matching the FED $3b, the plans for the system was not complete designed yet. He did not know the design of the addition.
But it sure made foreign manufacturer of high speed rails system happy.
Suddenly the Chinese have the fastest high speed rail system in the world. Everytime they place it on the track it goes for a new high speed record......sipping right along for a possible contract here in the US.
Now I am not against high speed rail. I like the idea. But going into multi billion project without the necessary planning and design does not work here. This is not a 30 mph steam driven choo choo. Get the arc of a curve of a track wrong on a train doing 150 mph is a asking for a disaster.

The guard post is 73 miles (118 kilometers) northeast of Seoul.
The firing of the 14.5-mm rounds came hours after North Korea criticized the South for rejecting a proposal to hold military talks and vowed to retaliate.
Despite the incident, previously arranged reunions of hundreds of families separated by the Korean War will go ahead Saturday in the North as scheduled, South Korean Unification Ministry spokesman Chun Hae-sung said.
The ministry handles South Korea's relations with the North.
The spike in tensions Friday came two weeks ahead of a global economic summit in Seoul to be attended by President Barack Obama and other leaders.

In May, a multinational investigation led by Seoul concluded that a torpedo fired by a North Korean submarine sank the 1,200-ton Cheonan warship. North Korea has denied involvement in the sinking, which killed 46 South Korean sailors.
The sinking heightened tensions between the rival Koreas, which remain technically at war because their 1950-53 war ended with a cease-fire, not a peace treaty.
The North warned during military talks with South Korea in late September that it might fire artillery at sites in the South where civilian activists use balloons to launch leaflets condemning North Korean leader Kim Jong Il across the border.

The DNC without the mid terms over, began to campaign for President Obama's 2012. Well not really to campaign, but to dig for dirt on the 9 leading REP contenders.
The DNC asked the various military services for any and all contact that the 9 leader REP had with them. Like if Sarah Palin sent a letter to the the Army on her son, that was serving in Afghanistan. Or if Romeny had requested info on Iraq war dead during the Obama administration.
The DNC collection of such document is legal by the freedom of information act, so the military services by law have to honor the request. But it is also repproachable, in that what a mother might say to the Commander of the Army after receiving a letter that caused fear of her son' death.

In May, a multinational investigation led by Seoul concluded that a torpedo fired by a North Korean submarine sank the 1,200-ton Cheonan warship. North Korea has denied involvement in the sinking, which killed 46 South Korean sailors.
The sinking heightened tensions between the rival Koreas, which remain technically at war because their 1950-53 war ended with a cease-fire, not a peace treaty.
The North warned during military talks with South Korea in late September that it might fire artillery at sites in the South where civilian activists use balloons to launch leaflets condemning North Korean leader Kim Jong Il across the border.
North Korean defectors and South Korean activists regularly float leaflets in a campaign to urge North Koreans to rise up against Kim. The North views the leaflets as part of psychological warfare aimed at toppling its regime.

Sorry Dude, this boy supported light rail 15 years ago here in Central Florida. So I know how much pre planning that goes into a rail project.
It is simple. Obama did not do his homework on the high speed rail. If he had....he would found out that they were not shovel ready. Few of the project will break ground until before that 2012.

People don't like giving up their homes/businesses for a high speed rail project. So they sued to stay the developments. Stays were given around the country on many of them.
