Iran called us arrogant over the nuclear issue. Here we have package bombs coming into the country and Eruope...small sisters to diryy nucs and big boom nuc...and Iran cannot get the message?

Then to turn around and call a country that has run 100s or peaceful and successful democract elections in the past 240 years than Iran has since Khomenie took office in late 70a....arrogant!

If a blood bath does not occur with a Iranian election, the Tehran power brokers of Khatenie and Ahmenanjada don't consider it threatening enough. It is a lot more arrogant to pull the trigger on a rifle and take a life, than to place a ballot in ballot box and change a government.

Worse ....the Revolutionary Guards....the Balijili mitita.... and the Khomerine police all had orders for the election repression. How can we be sure of that? The 2000 Mousvai leaders and supporter that were arrested. 10...100....several 100 yes local law enforce could arrest with out orders. But 2000? That is allot of people. The way Mousavi was first told he won and then it was rescended. On Khatenies orders.

Then if the charges were mundane and small....a fine and quick release. Not so here. Their trial has been going on for months and months and months. Inner working within the Iran government are extending the process here. Keeping them in a legal limbo.

Tehran is using them for geopolitical reasons. Like pawns on a chess board these 2000 sit in jail...Do you hear human right groups picking up a cry for justice and accuitial of their cases? No, the human right groups have been shouting out at Israel over the Palestine issue.

So if President Obama does not surrender on the geo political front to Iran, what do you think happens to these 2000 mostly moderate Muslims?
Who do you think will get blamed for it? Not Iran....but that arrogant US of A. Iran was just acting for national harmony....as some go the gallows and firing squads. The US forced Iran to do this. They were US agents that cause the election riots. What bunck!

Well Isreal is going to sign that peace treaty with Abbas. The world will do a back spin and realize that Israel is not the bad guy here.
And then...just maybe then....the world's press and media will find 3 inches of print and 30 second of air time for the 2000 being held in Iran.

I was away.....so missed President Obama 1 PM. Q and A. So? Just read the media on to.

A few quotes:

"We got shellacked"

"I feel bad" about the DEM that lost office to the REP/Tea party canidates.

will sit down together "with leaders of both parties so we can move forward"

"I think that people started looking at all this, and it felt as if government was intruding into their lives."

"No party will dictate were we go from here."

President Obama signaled he was abandoning his legislative agenda....cap and trade, the tax cuts, national energy tax.

He did not mention health care in the article. But it is signed legislation that to be repeal needs a his signature. In my opinion the best way to get that signature, is to give the American people a better piece of legislation.

A good piece of legislation with by-partisan support, can get that signature.

REP are like sergeants in the Army. They are the back bone of the government. Without them you don't have tough nosed decision maker
in the loop. Most have a deep love of country. And a respect for the Constitution and for God.

The FED government is big enough for warm fuzzies and tough nosed leaders.

We are back........let us move forward.

PS ..heck with grid lock.....that is what broke Washington.

To damn obvious and you knew it was coming.
Government has to stop subsidizing and bailing out everything.
Let entities fail and fire the CEO's instead of giving them bonuses for F'ing up.

Economics Writer Jeannine Aversa, Ap Economics Writer – 2 mins ago

WASHINGTON – The Federal Reserve announced a bold plan Wednesday to try to invigorate the economy by buying $600 billion more in Treasury bonds.

The Fed said it would buy about $75 billion a month in long-term government bonds through the middle of 2011 to further drive down interest rates on mortgages and other debt. This is in addition to an expected $250 billion to $300 billion in Fed purchases over the same period from reinvesting proceeds from its mortgage portfolio.

The idea is for cheaper loans to get people to spend more and stimulate hiring. The Fed said it will monitor whether adjustments are needed depending on how the economy is performing.

Some worry the Fed action will do little to boost the economy because interest rates are already historically low. Others fear the bond purchases could drive inflation too high over the long term and unleash speculative buying in assets like stocks.
Nov 3, 2010 2:42 PM CST It is not a bout Obama! This time it is about America!
Even analysts who favor the Fed's bond purchases cautioned against expecting them to rescue the sluggish economy

"Bottom line: The plan provides a boost to the economy's growth, but it is not going to solve our problems," said Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody's Analytics. "Even with the Fed's action, we're going to feel uncomfortable about the economy in the next six to 12 months."

By Zandi's reckoning, even with the Fed's additional aid, the unemployment rate by the end of 2011 will remain 9.6 percent — its current rate. Without it, the rate would be around 9.9 percent, he estimated.

The financial markets had priced in the Fed's move for weeks, and stock indexes didn't move much after the announcement. The Dow Jones industrial average rose about 30 points in mid-afternoon trading.

Treasury prices mainly rose. The big exception was the 30-year bond, which won't benefit as much as shorter-term Treasurys from the bond-buying program. The price of the 30-year bond plunged more than 2 full points. Its yield soared to 4.08 percent from 3.86 percent shortly before the Fed's statement was released. Bond yields rise when their prices fall.

In announcing its action, the Fed said the pace of the economy remains slow. Companies are still reluctant to hire, housing activity is depressed and consumers are increasing their spending only gradually.

Thomas Hoenig, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, dissented for the seventh straight meeting. He says the risks of the Fed's extra stimulus outweigh the potential benefits.

With the economy weak, the Fed is aiming to avoid the kind of economic stagnation and deflation problems that gripped Japan and led to a "lost decade" during the 1990s.

Deflation is a widespread and prolonged drop in prices of goods and services, in wages and in the values of homes and stocks. Deflation makes it harder for people and companies to pay their debts, pushing up home evictions and bankruptcies.

Fed policymakers expressed disappointment that they haven't been able to reduce unemployment and raise inflation to levels in line with a healthy economy. Progress toward those goals has been slow, the Fed acknowledged in its post-meeting statement.

Among the plan's risks is that it will make the weak dollar even weaker and lead to trade disputes with other countries. It could lead bond traders to believe that higher inflation is on the way, and they could derail the Fed's efforts by pushing rates higher.

Some investors argue that it may create bubbles as hedge funds and other speculators borrow cheaply and make even bigger bets on stocks, commodities and markets in developing countries like Brazil.

The Fed has tried since the 2008 financial crisis to keep credit available to individuals and businesses. It's done so, in part, by keeping the target range for its bank lending rate near zero.

It also pursued the unorthodox strategy of buying long-term bonds. The Fed's purchases are so vast that they push down the rates on those bonds.

In 2009, the Fed bought $1.7 trillion in mortgage and Treasury bonds. Those purchases helped lower long-term rates on home and corporate loans. The program was credited with helping to lift the country out of recession.

Zandi estimated that with the Fed's additional bond purchases, the economy will grow at an annual rate of about 2.7 percent in 2011. Without it, growth would be 2.4 percent, he said. Either way, growth wouldn't be strong enough to make a big dent in unemployment.

Lou Crandall, chief economist at Wrightson ICAP, said the Fed's credibility is at stake. He worries that the Fed's program creates an appearance of buying government bonds and printing money to pay for the bloated federal budget deficits.
Nov 3, 2010 2:43 PM CST It is not a bout Obama! This time it is about America!
"This runs the risk of hurting the Fed's reputation," Crandall said. "This may come back to haunt the Fed."

The Fed's announcement comes one day after voters frustrated by unemployment, scant pay gains and soaring home foreclosures punished Democrats and handed control of the House to Republicans. Democrats kept control of the Senate.

The split will make it harder for President Barack Obama to enact any major economic initiatives. That could put more pressure on the Fed to get the economy back on firmer footing.

Once again, the Fed pledged to hold its key interest rate at a record low near zero for "an extended period." The rate has been at ultra-low levels since December 2008.

AP Business Writer Matthew Craft in New York contributed to this report.

Actually Grumpy...

When I write you know not a Thing then I am right most times....

Regarding american politics which you claim you are an expert on... it is rather normal the president looses the support of the House of the representatives or the Senate or them both during midt turm ellections.

This is the way things almost always have been in America and it is a bout Amerca does not like to have a "king" on power but a president who shall do his or her best to create results and the best way of this being possible is if houses are runned by opponents and then the president will really have to hold him self to gether, have to accept more soultion models endorsed by both parties and this american model is desinged this way and is actually quitely unique and only found in America.

If Obama really succeded to keep both houses democratic then we could like talking a bout a miracle almost... and miracles are not for real any way and just as part of ferry tails when all counts.

You beleive I am sitting here and crying and that is why you try to be funny but still... I know a little bit a bout America and american politcs and have seen this before and this time republicans got a bigger victory against democrats because we are still in recession some how and many americans are really frustrated and impatient, but talking a bout real positive results for democrats... Harry Reid is not off and the Senate is still democratic and that is really some thing concidering the shape of the campain this time , the tea party detail and beside the economical recession.

Republicans are a disaster for the economy of the country and have always been disatereous for the american a economy because they move american jobs over seas, working on creating a kind of America where american know how is sold tho the best price no matter to who what so ever and making sure around five procent of the population of the country having a 90 procent of all wealth and then of course the economy collapses!

Americans are really hard employers and demanding fast results and the president of the country being the most important employee of the american paeople got to work even harder and he sure will... the challenge will get harder for sure but these elections were done american way and not much unusual happened any way.

When America brings a Bozo like Boehner as the speaker of the House then anger is out for sure and the presidency is going to find out how to settle the situation more down and making results more noted by americans.

As told before America does not like a King on job and that is why America usually weaken the sitting president in midtturm elections each and every sinlge time alomst.

Have to let the market work. Housing/ Building will not come back until the market hits bottom. As long as everything gets bailed out, market price is artificial.
Huge problem with starting the economy rolling again.
Jobs need to be created, and not government jobs.

Can't do it with a credit card, that only creates a job until the money runs out. Need profitable business's created.

I'm ready to buy some houses at auction right now :) I agree they should just be required to sell the foreclosures for whatever they can get. Do a lottery, figure out some plan and cut the losses. A lot of people will lose a lot of money and it will drive down home values all around those areas.

From my point of view, I have nothing to lose. I don't own anything except a bunch of debt, my credit is already screwed so from my perspective if the value of everything drops that might give me an opportunity for once. On the other hand I have one of those "government jobs" so I guess I'd be out on the street with my nothing and my debt and my kids living in the tent. Wait, are unemployment and food stamps included in your subsidies? I might be able to move a couple of other families in to my townhouse and make it on unemployment.

Let me show you how political reconcialation works.

Last night one of my friends won a local County commissioner job. He beat another friend....a DEM.....who is a good man as well....he has family and is long resident of the community.

Now I have mentioned winner in the past...he is the former State Senator that sat next to Rubio in the FL Senate.

So today I send him a victory congratulation email. In it...I mention that his opponent is very qualified man and I wondered what his next move is going to be. He might leave the area. That if a something opened up for him her, then political fences are mended.

The future country commissioner is going to be in a hiring position soon.
Hiring your political opponent at the local level is very smart politics.
It shows generosity and desire to mend the fences of community that get damaged during a campaign.

That did not happen here. But to often does.

See how it works?

Don't ice out your political opposition. Make room for them.....

I am happy to see the sleeping tiger awoke to put the brakes on the "hey big spender" in the White House.
Dude, I actually feel sorry for you because you seem to be a decent fellow. Somehow however, you have been brainwashed to embrace the works of Karl Marx who, incidently was not one of the Marks Brothers in early movies. You are so deluded you can't understand how millions of people could reject the Obama trainwreck on the horizon. The majority of people in the U.S. are smart enought to know that Socialism has never worked for any great length of time because it robs from the producers and rewards the non producers. The masses simply reduce their output to match the least effective person working there.
I am proud of my countrymen for taking my country back from George Soros.
Personally though Dude, I wish you well ! handshake
