RE: Ship Date...

The problem with mailorder companies such as Amazon is they will be the demise of the traditional high street, already in the UK with the lockdowns the family-run shops are closing for good, soon every high street will only consist of charity shops and coffee store.
A sad time worldwide.

RE: drawing attention to facts.

Corrected for you Mic, you're welcomebeer

RE: Dzhokhor Tsarnaev....Recall, all, one of the ethnic Russian Chechen brothers ...

That was put in place by Donald the Oaf Trump, nothing to do with Biden.

RE: drawing attention to facts.

I am neither scared nor scarred, I am, however, sick and tired of pathetic deceptions being spread by unintelligent uninformed alarmists who rely on biased and false videos to promote their crazy notions.

Every time a video is posted decrying the vaccine, or idiotic BS about a passport being a restriction on Freedom I feel duty-bound to debunk that BS.

If practically everyone in the entire western world had the vaccine for polio, smallpox etc then why not a vaccine against a vicious and deadly virus?

You cannot enter several countries without proof of vaccinations against a number of diseases, so why make a big deal out of the covid vaccine?

If you don't want the vaccine then simply don't have it, there is no necessity to post scaremongering BS designed to frighten people and stop them from having a vaccine that can prevent untimely death.

I make no apology if you find my posts disagreeable as they are nothing compared with the disgraceful misinformation posted to deliberately undermine an international cure for this pandemic.

RE: I hate varments.

Mic you need to get educated, an opossum is not a possum.

RE: I hate varments.

Why would anyone want to shoot an opossum? These marsupials are already endangered. They have as much right to life as any human.
I guess the gun is the answer to all problems for the weak minded.

RE: SOON: Former President Trump speaks at CPAC 2021 in Orlando, FL |

So easy to malign not so easy to prove lol. Your statement is so full of holes it barely warrants a response.
Biden is doing what is needed, reassembling what was once a great country, destroyed by an egotistical moron who only thought about himself.
Biden will never become a great president, but he is a million times better than his predecessor.

RE: By The Numbers

42 is the most famous number, the answer to the worlds biggest question.

RE: just me being righteous I suppose

What about the millionaires that pay a fortune to accountants to put in place Tax avoidance schemes, tax that could be used for society as a whole?
What about the money spent on advertising?
What about money spent on military rather than on peace?
What about the money people spend to go on holidays?
Where do you draw the line dunno

RE: LIKE A THIEF IN THE NIGHT

Says the man who spends half his life trying to convert others to Christianity, the worlds greatest controlling the masses and exploring the weak religion.rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing
Stringman you make no sense, you accept control by religion, a none proven money-grabbing diety yet refuse to acknowledge that Society requires mass inoculation to prevent disease. Nothing to do with controlling the masses, all to do with saving lives and all that entails.
I bet you would think differently if you had suffered from smallpox or polo as a child.

RE: Today I walked ontop of water

I once walked on the black sea when frozen, a very strange experience as I had been swimming at the same location that summer, marvelling at how warm the water had been.
Nature never stops surprising lol.

RE: 5

In the UK I remember a long time ago, a chap cleared his driveway and the public footpath, he was fined for clearing the snow from the footpath, as it was NOT his property lol.
So most people just leave the snow and wait for it to melt, but then 1/2 an inch of snow brings the entire country to a holt, if 2 inches falls the end of the world is announced lol.
The UK has never understood snow and always overreacts.

RE: More Gorilla Glue... you betcha!

Some Asian countries still use real wood for kitchen units, all my kitchen cupboards and units in the Philippines are made from local wood, a good job too as my kitchen was flooded last year by a typhoon and I was happy to hear that none of the doors, drawers or supporting units had suffered any damage. If plywood or MDF had been used they would have swollen up and required all replacing.
Nothing beats real wood IMO, as long as new trees are planted as the old are cut down it is sustainable and renewable for ever.

This is very similar to my Kitchen, from the same suppier.

RE: More Gorilla Glue... you betcha!

Sorry Chat, I disagree, I have furniture over 100 years old and still very functional. You would be lucky to get 10 years from Ikea or similar.
Guess we should agree to disagree.cheers

RE: expats and the like ,,,,

Ah sorry, I misunderstood, yes you are so correct, you really find out who are your true friends in your home country if you move abroad.
The jealous comments and sarcasm were hurtful when I first started travelling, but my real friends treated me no differently. Some even came to Asia to visit me and we have always kept in touch.
Now I ignore comments but have to admit to being somewhat loyal to my host countries, so tend to put people right when they spout BS they read in some rag or youtube video, just showing their ignorance.

RE: expats and the like ,,,,

I have found the resentment comes only when certain ex-pats flaunt their wealth, show of with flashy cars or powerful motorbikes.
Those that live quiet lives, don't show off, don't complain constantly and take time to get to know the locals are usually welcomed into the community.
When my house got flooded last year it was the locals who came to help clear up the mess, not the ex-pats living nearby.
Not all ex-pats are the same, you cannot generalise.

RE: expats and the like ,,,,

Maybe true for some but not all. I work for a living, I work all over Asia and the Philippines is an excellent place to be based with easy access to Asian countries.
Not everyone sponges of the state.

RE: Using the wrong Gorilla... there's more to the story!

If only people would learn to be responsible for their own actions, so crazy.
roll eyes

RE: The new Tesla model S; a 520 mile range on a charge, and 0 to 60 mph in 2 seconds.

The Tesla cars are all tested and all are way below the regulations in place.
CRT TVs and the latest lathes are also EMF producers, not a single case of illness has been found from EMF radiation.
That is not saying EMF is safe, just that mankind has not yet produced any domestic equipment that can cause illness from EMF.
Its use in military environments is another story.

RE: The new Tesla model S; a 520 mile range on a charge, and 0 to 60 mph in 2 seconds.

So does an electric vacuum cleaner, but so far no one has ever been affected by EMF from their hoover or Dyson lol
"In-vehicle measurements

“In our project,” says project coordinator Andreas Vogl of Stiftelsen SINTEF, “we wanted to investigate EMFs in fully electric vehicles, see if there are reasons for concern and, if so, find ways to address them and introduce measures to reduce magnetic field exposure.”

To do so, the partners took measurements in 11 vehicles – 8 electric cars of different makes, 2 running on petrol and 1 with a diesel engine. Their data indicates that the exposures in electric cars, while slightly higher than those with internal combustion engines, remained far below the limits defined by the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP). The researchers reported maximum exposures amounting to 20% of the ICNIRP limits, compared to the 10% they observed in the three conventional cars.

These values relate to the exposure at foot height. Higher up, and therefore further away from the engine, the values are lower. The project reports that exposure levels nearer the head do not exceed 2% of the ICNIRP limits.

In vitro experiments

The partners also studied the biological effects of the EMFs observed in electric vehicles. One of their experiments focused on cardiac cells, to check if EMFs affect the electrical processes of the heart. Other tests looked into the fields’ effects on other types of healthy and cancerous cells.

“We used the magnetic field exposure in the frequency area observed in the electric cars, and from these cell studies we couldn’t see any negative effects,” says Vogl. More specifically, the partners conclude that there are no reasons to perceive the electromagnetic radiation observed in cars as potentially carcinogenic – in contrast to substances such as benzene or diesel exhaust fumes, which are known to cause cancer."

Also in the UK, we use electric milk carts and electric buses, not a single case of EMF induced cancer or other illness can be found. from these electrical devices.

Having said all that, EMF radiation needs to be checked and regulated, the same as fossil fuel exhaust needs to be regulated.

RE: Confucius, ancient Chinese thinker....

Why? That seems a very sweeping statement.
Like saying Lincoln would be ashamed of Americans if he came back.
I think Lincoln would be very proud of what America has achieved since he died, sure a minority are braindead members of dubious cults, but in the main, the US has been a pioneering country. Same with China.

RE: Lloyd Austin Secretary of Defense nominee

That is a barefaced lie, you actually posted a pic of the statement "We are looking into having China to rely on for national defence". So you did see it. What you mean is that other than your unmentioned, there is no other media source suggesting the same sentence.
So yet again you are posting a lie and worse you know it is a lie.

RE: Lloyd Austin Secretary of Defense nominee

"President-elect Joe Biden’s nominee to lead the Defense Department plans to take another look at the National Defense Strategy should he be confirmed, he told lawmakers on Tuesday.

Testifying in front of the Senate Armed Services Committee as part of his nomination process, retired Army Gen. Lloyd Austin emphasized his focus on the threat posed by China and said he would revisit the National Defense Strategy should lawmakers confirm him to lead the Pentagon.

“I think much of the document is absolutely on track for today’s challenges, Mr. Chairman. As is the case with all strategies — if confirmed — one of the things that I would look to do is to work to update the strategy and work within the confines of the guidance and the policy issued by the next administration,” Austin told Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.)."

RE: Lloyd Austin Secretary of Defense nominee

Didn't they learn anything from the lies and false information Epoch published leading up to the valid and secure election?doh
Lloyd Austin Secretary of Defense said nothing about China Military, he did say he wanted better equipment for US Troops.

RE: Photos of President Biden's Oval Office, and his predecessors.

Maybe hidden wall sockets, behind a false cover or in the floor dunno

RE: Photos of President Biden's Oval Office, and his predecessors.

Not sure that it is velour, more likely buffalo suede, which looks similar (in a photo) but feels very different.

RE: Fellow/fellowess Amateur radio operator comrades.....

I have not received any such communication from the RSGB, so maybe only select members of the FCC known for spreading malicious gossip and rumoursdunno

RE: Electric Car Batteries that can be recharged in about 5 minutes

But nowhere near as cool as a tuned 4.5L V8, that is how a car should sound, not a whine from an electric motor or two.grin

RE: Mega Millions...

You wouldn't need to spend it all, you could live a life never having to even think about the cost of something, when you die your family can inherit what's left, and they can also live an enjoyable life style.
But the begging letters are another thing, they would never stop, maybe some would be genuine and deserve some help?
How you determine which are really genuine or not would be a problem.

RE: Electric Car Batteries that can be recharged in about 5 minutes

Edison: They can use industrial-sized batteries to store electricity produced by the solar/wind generators. That would overcome your described problem.
As technology advances, so the efficiency of wind/solar generators will advance, together with better and efficient means to store the energy produced.
