RE: Trump Confesses & the impeachment trial

The point is that sanctions NEVER work, they just make life intolerable for the poor in that country, stopping certain products being sold a country such as Plutonium or weapons, make sense, stopping other normal goods and produce has no effect on that government and only hits the innocent citizens.
As for Trump "turning our economic status around", he is just following the plan put in place by Obama, but claiming the credit, while blaming previous administrations for the bad effect HIS trade wars have caused.

RE: A sad day in comedy - Monty Python member Terry Jones died last night at 77

A sad loss for the world, Jones was the epitome of British humour at its best.
May you rest in peace and forever hear the words "Always look on the bright side of life" sad flower

RE: new Serfdom ?

Karl Marx was NEVER a capitalist.
Karl Marx prophesied the end of capitalism, his ideology is based on the premise that capitalism by its very nature was unworkable and would collapse due to its instability and powerful individual control, hence his theories regarding public ownership.

RE: New evidence against Trump emerging for the Senate Impeachment Trial

I don't want to swap you with the fact that when Obama took office the USA was heading for a massive recession dragging the rest of the world down with it, Obama did what had to be done, and that increased the deficit, I guess you forgot that the USA managed to almost bankrupt every major currency in the world due to Bush's stupidity and giving too much control to the Banking industry.
If Trump had been in power in 2008, the dollar would have been destroyed and half the working population would be unemployed.
But please, carry on worshipping you god, he needs your support to massage his ego.

RE: USA - Referendum

Trump is unlikely to be re-elected, the voting public will have seen the man for exactly what he is, a lying conniving manipulative criminal who has used the position he holds to increase his wealth and use foreign countries to dig up dirt on opposing Presidential candidates. It really doesn't matter whether he is found guilty or not, the damage will have been done, still over 50% of USA population think he should be found guilty and removed from office, that means come November, his chances of being re-elected are slim at best and most likely will lose by a huge amount.

RE: USA - Referendum

No, you are totally wrong, they differ significantly.
An election is a vote for a particular party and its leadership, no more or less than a selection of a candidate for Presidency. The result is fixed and lawful.

A referendum is a vote on a specific issue, not an individual candidate or party, the result is advisory, therefore not fixed and can be overruled by the Government.
Between 1904 and 2007, some 2231 statewide referendums initiated by citizens were held in the USA. 909 of these initiatives have been approved.

RE: The Wall Is Going Up, Illegal Invasions Are Going Down! Yet ANOTHER PROMISE KEPT By President Trump

You make the assumption I want to go to the USA, having lived and worked in the States, when the country had a reasonable government that was respected across the world, unlike today,so the USA would be at the bottom of my travel list. Far more attractive and safer places in Asia lol

RE: The Wall Is Going Up, Illegal Invasions Are Going Down! Yet ANOTHER PROMISE KEPT By President Trump

But the southern border now has an unprecidented backlog of immigrants waiting to enter the USA legally. the number has dropped continuously for 2 decades, but the Trump admin is causing a massive problem, the money used to "patch up the walls" would be better spent on more personnel working at the border crossings.
The mass influx that Trump made such a song and dance about never happened, it was all in his head, more lies and embellished stories that Trump excels in doing.
The wall will do nothing to stop the legal entry and do nothing to stop the drug trade, it will just become a white elephant that has cost American tax payers a fortune needlessly.

RE: The Wall Is Going Up, Illegal Invasions Are Going Down! Yet ANOTHER PROMISE KEPT By President Trump

Great, except it is really just patching up barriers that were already there before Trump even suggested a wall.
And while illegals may well be lower in number, most of the illegals in the USA entered LEGALLY, they then remained after their time limit has expired.
So the wall is really just an excuse byTrump to try and have his name stand out historically.

RE: How to grow old

I have decided to grow old disgracefully, as and when the time comes to grow old of course.

RE: 5G Killing Trees in Gateshead

If you don't want the truth, that is your problem. I will state here and now, there has been extensive testing on 5G and nothing has shown any problems. The ONLY problems are coming from fake, unbelievable sites that the gullible and those that lack intelligence believe.
Your thinking that a video is solid proof that you are right, whereas, a real proof would show scientific evidence, but of course you can't do that because THERE IS NO SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE THAT 5G IS HARMFUL. Only worthless sites that have no credibility say it is harmful.
The alcohol you consume daily is far more dangerous, maybe you should stop imbibing all those beersdunno

RE: Nocturnal emissions...

I've been a licensed Radio ham operator for almost 40 years, when I moved to China I couldn't take my radios so stored them at my UK place, now I am slowly transferring the kit from the UK to The Philippines, my license is a lifetime one and I will look forward to restarting my transmissions when I am fully retired. I have a homemade shortwave receiver that I take all over the world so I can "Evesdrop". I too have boxes of QSL cards, but too expensive to ship from the UK.
It can be a very interesting hobby, while at the same time a very important one in times of danger/war etc. Raynet-UK being a valued society and supported by the UK Government.

RE: We need EFFECTIVE Diplomacy, not more wars in foreign areas.

Strange how some always suggest H. Clinton is a warmonger, yet she has never been in the position to start any war, whereas Trump is a known warmonger from the very first month he took office.
People forget so quickly that Obama set a deal stopping nuclear weapon manufacture in Iran, and there was no trouble from that region until Trump stupidly undid that deal and reset the sanctions Obama had withdrawn.
Trump is a PROVEN warmonger, H. Clinton may well be a bad person, but she is not and never has been a warmonger. FACT !!!!

RE: small entrepreneur being challenged now

Yes exactly, it's the "losing face syndrome"

RE: The Trump administration is succeeding in its efforts to destabilize the regime in Tehran.

This may well be the end of Trump, rumor has it that more Republican senates are turning against him, his reaction to Iran being a real cause for concern. Trump never reads a situation correctly, he just sees the result he wants.

RE: Sealed for your protection...

Packaging is a terrible waste of resources and causes excess pollution. One of my few grips about being in Asia is how wasteful the packaging is here, A large cardboard box covered in cellophane that defies human intelligence to open, then, once you have destroyed 5 finger nails and had to resort to a sharp knife, you excitedly open the cardboard box only to find it half empty with a tiny box inside containing more packaging, this package then contains the actual item you wanted, each one ind individually wrapped in more cellophane that requires a diamond cutter to gain access to.
Six biscuits later you have to throw away enough cardboard and plastic to fill a wheely bin.

RE: Traditions

I had probably the best Christmas/New year in my life when I was working in Sevastopol Crimea, I will never forget the stuffed Peppers and the humungous quantity of local vodka consumed, my time in Ukraine has given my a lifelong passion for beetroot and especially real homemade Borscht, my next job will be in a country that grows and sells beetroot, not available in China or the Philippines.

RE: 5G Killing Trees in Gateshead

We get it, you don't trust 5G, but why lie and post videos that have no credibility? You said 5G has not been tested, that is an outright lie it has been tested in several countries and not one case of insanity was found.
If you are truly worried that 5G is harmful, why not PROVE IT? Giving conclusive credible evidence would support your argument and cause governments to rethink their implementation of 5G.
Saying things like "trees dying" "water molecules in humans will be affected" etc etc, all with no credible support just makes the sensible laugh and take no notice.
Just so you are aware, China, S.Korea and various European countries are up and running with 5 G and not a single problem has been detected affecting humans or animals.

Some may leave after being so certain of the USA election result and find they are in a minority and light-years away from reality.

RE: Chinese Buffet...

You rarely see a true buffet style restaurant in China as the people have still not grasped that you can go back and refill your plate lol, at one function I attended there was a free buffet, as soon as the announcement was made the food was ready 200 people made a dash for the loaded tables and within minutes all the food was gone, but the amount of food on every plate was huge and impossible to eat it all, such wastage has made buffets impossible to manage. In Shanghai, there is a western restaurant that does a Sunday buffet, but the cost is twice what one would expect to pay, if you eat all your food you get half your money back when you leave laugh

RE: CBC removes Donald Trump's scene from 'Home Alone 2' broadcast: report

According to CBC they removed this segment before Trump took office, but some have just now picked up on it and so make a mountain out of a molehill. So saves CBC having to pay a royalty to trumpyawn

RE: Chinese Buffet...

More and more Restaurants in China/Hong Kong are placing signs outside saying "no MSG used". The government has not banned it (yet) but is sending a clear message nationwide that MSG is not healthy and should be avoided.

RE: 'Impeach - The Case against Donald Trump'

The diehard Trump supporters will never change their closed minds, Trump could go out and commit a mass killing and they would applaud his actions, Thankfully they are a minority, the rest of the voting public have realised Trump was a mistake, the impeachment, whether or not it gets thrown out by the Senate, has done too much damage to Trumps credibility, he will probably come up with a health scare and withdraw from the election rather than be seen to lose big time.

RE: Record Employment, Record Pay, Record Stock Market, Record Family Wealth -- Now RECORD SHOPPING DAY!

Obama had no choice, the economy had totally crashed due to mismanagement by previous US leaders and unrestricted banking. Had Obama not done as he did, you and millions of other would be walking the streets with begging bowls.
Trump not only had a choice, he has created an inflation by lowering tax for the rich, and has little to no means to reduce the deficit, especially when the top companies in the top tax brackets are still encouraged to find ways to avoid paying tax in the USA and many other countries, Ireland being one which has been badly hit by companies like Amazon, Hewlett Packard etc etc.
