Just thought of something else .Philippine money in notes 1000, 500, 200 (not so common) 100 50 20. 1000 peso is around 18 dollars, ATMs and FX agents tend to only give 1000 and 500 notes, shops and especially taxis will always ask for exact money, taxi drivers never carry change, so a 300 peso trip could cost you 500, just because you only have 1000's or 500's, so always carry low denomination notes and loads of coins. This is NOT Philipine specfic, Just about every country in the world is the same, especially Taxis.

I am NOT a morning person, I function far better after 11pm not 11 am lol, but have got used to everything being closed by 9pm here in China, OK the big cities are different, Shanghai is 24 hour mayhem, but where I am I can walk around the town centre at 10pm and hear the echo of my footsteps.
