Regarding the protests ongoing at this moment on the Capitol steps

It's quite clear, that the GOP agenda is much more important to Republicans than what the majority of people want.
It didn't start with the election of the most unqualified US president in history.
It started with the Tea Party within the Republican party,
a band of obstructionists, who would do anything to halt progress.
Indeed, they pledged to do just that.

But, with the help of Putin, Trump was elected and Republicanswe re so happy that a person
representing the Republican party, got in power, that they turned a blind eye to things they would have
passionately objected to only 2 years earlier.

We are now at a point, that the Republican 'representatives' no longer care about what is the right thing
to do. Instead, most have replaced integrity with what can we get away with, and the public has
been outraged at many things that have taken place in the past 2 years.
These include tax cuts for the rich, jailing young children of refugees away from their parents,
obnoxious Tweets, alienating allies, coddling dictators, allowing more pollution, allowing mining & drilling in National Parks, destruction of net neutrality, attempts to take away health benefits, and other things deleterious to a large part of the population.

The result is that this country is more divided than it has been in decades.
The Kavanaugh confirmation may be the tipping point.
Will the confirmation of an accused s*xual predator to the Supreme Court be the tipping point
to finally motivate voters to select better representation ?

The majority of people in the USA are female. However, Trump lost the popular vote in 2016
and still got elected due to an antiquated electoral college.
Yet, Congressmen don't get an electoral college to vote as they please.
They are elected by the popular vote.
So, will the public make their voices heard, when & where it will do the most good ?
Will this be the end of the Republican majority in Congress ?

I guess we will find out in early November.

I knew all along that Brett Kavanaugh would get nominated.
This guy says he's not a liberal. Sure could have fooled me. He talks like all the libs on TV and that I've heard. confused
Ellie,
If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, wobbles like a duck,.....Oh you know the rest.
So, it's now liberal to want the majority to rule. laugh
I hate American Republicans, they are selfish captilists and are only for the Rich, stuff anyone else, is their motto, particularly the poor.
Not all Republicans are that way. However, the ones that are that way, have psychologically manipulated
the feeble minded to convince them, that this is what is best for the poorer ones too. So, they blindly follow the leaders of the Republican party to vote loyally within the party, despite the horrible things the leaders do. It becomes like a cult. That is why logic and evidence makes no difference to them. The leaders manufacture handy excuses which they have been brain washed to regurgitate, like "fake news" or that "it's better than the Clintons".
I would make a fab protester conversing
Why didn't Ford/Feinstein file charges in court and then announce THAT -- that formal charges were filed? If Kav were formally charged for a serious crime, he would be under "pending litigation." I don't think he could be appointed for anything until that were all done with. That could take years. Isn't that what we want?
@ Elegsabiff

It baffles me also, that some who appear to have common sense and world knowledge, allow themselves to get swept up in the lies and propaganda, and then accuse those who point out the actual reality and maybe some questions need to be asked, of being ignorant and libtardslaugh

I know sometimes I play the "devils advocate", but only to try and get some to look at what they are posting and maybe they need to start to question.

As an American citizen currently living in Mexico all I can say is that the Democrats have acted disgracefully throughout the entire confirmation process. I will never vote for another Democratic again as long as I live. I think Brett Kavanaugh will make a fine supreme court justice, and likely would have been appointed to the supreme court by many other Republican presidents. He was on Romney's list of potential candidates and was highly recommended by President Bush. During normal times he would sailed through the confirmation process. I also watched Christine Ford testify and she looked like she was lying through her teeth to me. I believe in law and order and that elections have consequences. The Democrats look like a bunch of cry baby sore losers, surely a consequence of the victim mentality they love to cling to,

Now the Democrats can get back to looking for Russian collusion under every rock they can turn over.
Rizla - I see your van der Hum and raise you Cape Velvet laugh yay

Miguel doh plenty of blogs out there with the tumbleweeds rolling through them because no-one comments, and they are absolutely on your wavelength?
What are you suggesting senora? That only commentators who agree with the OP are welcome to comment? dunno confused
Not my blog, Miguel, so I shouldn't have said as much as I did. I thought perhaps you hadn't noticed the blogs that were rejoicing.
I may not look like the sharpest tool in the shed to you Elegs, but let me assure you I am perfectly capable of reviewing all the blog topics and deciding which ones I want to comment on thank you very much.

That's what happens when you don't play the game of pretending your vote matters.
The other side wins. and by other side I mean the same side waving a different colour flag.

Republocrats always win.
There is no swamp being drained. Its just being fitted with new smoke and mirrors.
M - That partial reading by Michael Moore was made 2 years ago.
Here's a much more recent interview of Michael Moore of what he really thinks;

You also might be interested in some other truths;

and take a look & listen to this too;

Thank you for putting me wise that Mike Moore's lib'rul; I did not know that roll eyes
You may stop fatiguing me now.

Heartily agree with Mike's assertion in the Maher interview that Dems should dump their superdelegate system.

Along with the clip lifted from Mike's 'Trumpland' and Hildy's 'Deplorable' gaff foot in mouth the perception that Dems backstabbed Bernie contributed to their losses in '16.
Prior to 11/9, I saw a lib-style subcompact hatchback with a Bernie bumper sticker - and two Jill Stein yard signs in the side windows. It spoke volumes.

Dems would better serve their purpose by addressing problems (optics & otherwise) that cost them elections than using confirmation delaying tactics & Federal Prison as a dungeon trying to undo elections they've already lost.
Failing to do so will cost them future elections.
IMO

'Your results may vary'; I'm certain they do.

I am for truth & justice as part of the American way. If crimes were committed, appropriate punishment should be enacted.
A THOROUGH investigation of Kavanaugh is warranted.
A continuation of the very fruitful Mueller investigations is warranted.
This video is very helpful in understanding the world in which Blasey Ford lives.

M - You already stated that above and I already responded to it.
I don't care as much as you do as to the success of any political party.
I am more loyal to the truth, justice, and what is good for the majority.
In general I don't fully trust politicians.

As far as your last line, we either agree, or disagree. Make up your mind. laugh
Oh.

This being a 'Politics' blog must've confused me. My bad.
I notice you only like investigations in conservatives , what about McCabe ,Clinton's , Comey all currently running . Fruit picking season is not yet upon us for these , the day will come as they ripen fester
The Republicans literally tried years to pin something, anything, on Hillary and had no evidence.
I am for legitimate investigations when warranted.
I am not for wasting lots of our taxpayer's money on ridiculousness.
Keith Ellison boxing
P.S. Both McCabe & Comey are Republicans. Although after he was fired by Trump, Comey declared being independent.
Hope you are not claiming that the investigations into Clinton,McCabe and Comey by the FBI are a waste of money Jim , perish the thought .
I definitely think the allegations involving Keith E. should be investigated.
e - not by the FBI, by the Republicans in Congress.
Comey once said he was a communist , how do you reconcile that with your political views of these two being republicans .

Communist, Republican, Reaganite. Yeah, it adds up. tongue
...If the answer is 'schizophrenia'
I'm glad you admit that. laugh
Michael Moore is a left wing loony. roll eyes
T - you think just about everyone who doesn't think like you, is a "left wing looney".
Regardless, he was one of the few who predicted a Trump presidency.
