As has been suggested... times have changed in the way men and women see relationships, however, what has not changed is the attitude towards more liberal relationships.
From what women write in their profiles and on the blogs, it is little surprising they prefer to remain single.
Of course the word "prefer" is fabricated as women these days have such a defined idea of the type of man they want, they know they are NEVER going to find that man.
I sum this up by quoting one womans profile where it stated the woman didnt need a man in her life...... she just wanted one from time to time!.... Jeeeeez!
Since I have been shot down in flames by my comment, perhaps I should be more specific....
For those people "damaged" by a previous relationship a new relationship can in some instances heal the wounds by helping the damaged person move on with their lives aided by the love and affection of someone else.
For those that mope for years under the illusion of "self healing" wallow in self pity at the hurt they have felt which then can build into a situation whereby they are no longer able to let go of the past thus taking their woes into any new relationship.
Calli... I would say to you being a horse person... If you fall off the horse the best remedy is to immediately get back on again otherwise your fear of falling will haunt you to the point you may never ride again!.... Right or wrong?
Although I'm not really into Birthdays, presents, cards and stuff or all those folk being nice, sometimes it is pleasing to be wished a happy birthday by someone we value in our lives.
So

Generally speaking..... When a man tells a woman he is not "good" enough for her it is usually because the guy has found love elsewhere and does not have the courage to break another love's heart by saying the relationship is over.
Marriage is a funny thing these days, seems people either get married in an effort to keep someone or they get married because they want to get rid of someone.

Being a child from a second marriage my parents pushed me off to boarding school from the age of eight, then at eighteen pushed me off to work in a foreign country.
When thirty years had passed they wondered why I wasnt family orientated.
Not angry or sad, that was just how life turned out to be.

From all the nice people here.... we wish you all the best and hope you come back once the book deadline has been achieved. We of course will not be here to welcome you as because we are nice people we will have met other nice people and be engaged in a romance.
