In the first instance I think the woman didnt like the guy and so wanted out of there.

Second instance I think the person was perhaps trying to impress (and failing)

As for the practical joker, well, lets just say he has a romantic streak.

We all act differently in given circumstances, likewise, we all interpret the actions of people in different ways, this doesnt mean we see another side of a persons character or how these people may be if we ever got to know them well.
