Many years ago, I gave up dairy and gluten to restore and then maintain a healthy thyroid. Like many here,I also changed the food I ate. From toast with peanut butter, breakfast changed to two tbsps flax seed soaked overnight in the refrigerator and, in the morning, added two tbsps Chia seeds with warm water (let them soak a few minutes so they become gel like). Then I add fruit, coconut yogurt and whisk it with a blender and end up with a delicious and satisying smoothie in a bowl. The flax seeds consumed this way act like brushes through the intestines. Chia seeds have numerous health benefits. To healthy eating!
Well, Gypsy, you are not unique in feeling as you do. I enjoy being in my office every day, but so relish the walk home knowing that my home is my nest and the only distractions are my pets who really aren't distractions anyway. I love being with family and good friends but also hug my alone time to me like a "bestest" friend. If we have expectations of someone, we should make them realistic for that person. Maybe it's the fast pace of today's world, it seems we lump everyone into the same category. Thanks to a very good friend, I have learned to gently let people know what they can and should not expect from me. With clients, it's more of a challenge because the expectations are somewhat different.
Hi Scotty, it's the internet and I'm just not comfortable posting a photo. Molly has a photo up, but would you recognize her if you met her? Anyway, welcome to CS. I hope you have fun!
I quit smoking everything when I was in my early 20's and don't feel any guilt or remorse about being a non-smoker. But what makes you think all the women who state they're non-smokers are being dishonest?
Hi Cat I still have my very reliable Nokia flip phone and love it: it's sturdy, tinyish and limits 'connectivity' to phone calls and text messages. Dreading the day when I'll have to upgrade.
There are none so blind as those who refuse to see. All the proof anyone could need is right here!
huitz, you have no need to apologize. Your blog is a statement of what's happening in the US and, while not all Americans believe in the bigotry of Trump, sadly many do.
Of course, Lindsey, we non-americans know all that. If you weren't so insular, you'd understand that what happens in your country affects the rest of the world. If your Trump makes your country even more protectionist than it already is, there will be another country sitting on the sidelines just waiting to take over the position of world #1. And you think you have problems now? Ha! If your Trump is elected to office, within four years of his election or less, you'll be bashing him as you've bashed Obama. You're so blinded by the gloss, you can't see the pile he's standing in.
The fanatical Trump supporters choose not to read between the lines of his fanatical rants. Huitz, you interpreted his comments correctly. Canada shares a border with the US, too. HE says he likes Canada. We shall see....
CC, it may very well be treatable. However, the narcissist must recognize they have a problem. With the narcissistic personality, it's the rest of the world who is always wrong. If you can't or won't see you're sick, you won't get help.
There is no cure for narcissism because the narcissist doesn't believe the problem is ever with them. Narcissists view even the gentlest criticism as an all out attack. They get their jollies attacking others because it fees their perception of their own perfection. However, they are also well aware which people to keep on the good side of so they do tread carefully with some people (bosses, "friends" they need). Sometimes we forget who we're dealing with and try to have a normal discussion with the narcissist. It doesn't take long for the narcissists true colours to show. In reality, it can be a crushing experience to live with a narcissist especially if it's a parent. Online, it's water off a duck's back.
Thank you, Snooks. Just because I don't talk about my personal life and experiences, you shouldn't assume that you've endured more and/or worse. They are my experiences though and that is how they shall remain. Thankfully, they have not made me bitter or angry.
Hello nikos, welcome! Not everyone is a native English speaker. Some overuse emoticons but then we can't always get what we want. I'm serious all day at work and sometimes serious on here but that gets very boring very fast. I prefer the lighthearted blogs. There are more serious people than sane people here. We're like a bag of All Sorts.
