We use to call the N1 between Pretoria and Polokwane die pad van die dood....death road because of all the serious accidents on that road. The west coast is just as bad. All the accidents in St Helena bay were drunk people. 6 deaths in 5 years and there are not even a lot of people living there.

You have a better chance to be struck by lightning I suspect. Too many to choose from is more a obstacles than a benefit. You can create a world where you are popular and wanted without leaving your house. Lots get trapped in that world so they just string people along without any intention of having a serious relationship with any of them.

It is lovely to live close to the sea. The long walks on the beach and the sound of the waves at night. Had that for 10 years. Unfortunately there was a fish factory, unpleasant local people and water too expensive to have a garden. Now I live in a pine forest and strange enough the wind in the trees sounds very much like waves so I don't really miss the sea much.
