luke I think the reason many gravitate towards blogging is because they are more interested in gaining friendships and passing time than finding that certain someone...if it does happen then it is a bonus...I enjoy peoples' opinions and the discussions here on the blogs...made some good friends...

lind I don't doubt that there will be people or parties elected or not that will lead their nation and people down a very dark path...victims of circumstance...as it seems...but for those who enjoy a certain freedom...citizens of Canada...being one...I firmly believe that logic and compassion for people regardless of their ethnic/political ties will prevail...grass roots people have long suffered a governments' decision...people who feel they have no choice or that are tied by circumstance and unable to voice their opinion due to retribution will be recognised and considered...

lind What a topic!!...as long as humans need valuable assets from other countries...we will always have war...a third world war...maybe...I would hope we have grown past this as it profits no grass roots people...only the ones' with actual power...
Most people I feel are disenchanted by their governments...we are not as naive as yesterday to believe out governments will do the right thing...the Vietnam war, for example, many have questioned why they, Americans were there in the first place... A war that was created for what purpose?...and the destruction of people who lived there...ethnic cleansing made possible (Kamer Rouge)...due to political strategy or failure to recognise that people matter...
I hope we have learned from our past and remain skeptical of our leaders and their ambitions concerning war...

Cat I am not living in a place where the crime rate is high...you are right... I have read up on the high murder rate of your country...I was shocked by the number!!... What are your political leaders doing to help reduce the number of murders besides hiring more police?...It is sad to hear that many get out of prison early due to over crowding...
cat I believe that as a society we have a responsibility to show mercy...or reason...I do not believe in capital punishment...but understand why people do...murder is wrong whether it be from a masked intruder (random)or family...or from the justice system...the time one spends locked up depends on the circumstance...as you know...if you are frustrated with the overcrowding of the prisons...it makes no sense to allow capital punishment to exist...rather fix the problem at hand...and to discover the root of this problem from the beginning than mask it by capital punishment and never solve the problem...
doc I am a spine nurse...is he getting radiation/chemotherapy for palliative means?...sorry to hear of your news...I sometimes have to deal with cancer of the spine usually secondary...the primary is often somewhere else...like your dad...cherish that woolen jacket!!
jac I was hoping not to become too jaded by our government...they need to do the right thing...think before starting a war...recognise the plight of the soldier...and give them all the support they need...
jac I feel it is abnormal to think a soldier does not need help after seeing such destruction...it doesn`t help that the government does not want to see the potential problems of war...the effects...nor does it help that male children may be taught to grieve differently...all very sad indeed...
jac It was a big help...to speak about it with a professional...the shock wore off but getting back to normal was a process...kind of like being in a movie...hard to explain...funny how your body reacts to such trauma...
