John Winston Lennon's Birthday. He would have been 80 today.

Apparently, it's easy to do. I see a lot of misinterpretation on here.

RE: socialism ? health care

Many people drive on paved roads, use bridges & tunnels, go to public libraries, schools and museums, collect unemployment, get social security. All of these and more are examples of socialism already pleasurably accepted by many. However, the irrational fear, that socialism = communism, is unfortunately pushed by corrupt politicians and the rich who have bought them in an attempt to halt good changes for the American people.
They have tricked the public by exploiting their fears.

RE: Blister Pack...

If the foil is extra thick, just slash it on either side of the pill and use a fingernail to
move the foil out of the way of getting the pill.
I honestly can't believe that you haven't encountered a more difficult problem in
cabinet making. laugh

RE: Blister Pack...

No. I just found the line funny. laugh

As M points out you just push the pill through the foil.
The bottom hand acts as a cup to catch the pill
and a finger pushes the pill through the foil from above.
Or you can either cut the corner with scissors, or cut the foil with anything sharp,
even a fingernail. The key is, that the foil is much more easier to perforate than the plastic.

John Winston Lennon's Birthday. He would have been 80 today.

Actually, I did like the man. He was a peaceful activist for change and a good lyricist.
That's why I posted the blog.

RE: To dye or not to dye...

How about, if he wasn't born that way, BUT later in life it naturally changed that way
in the middle of the night on April first and his girlfriend swore she had nothing to do with it ? laugh

RE: Peaceful 'Patriot' Protestor killed in Denver

The gunman was actually a private security guard with no affiliation with Antifa;

From the NY Times;

RE: To dye or not to dye...

"Adore them". BUT, only if they are grey. wow laugh

RE: Peaceful 'Patriot' Protestor killed in Denver

decide....not "decode" doh

RE: Peaceful 'Patriot' Protestor killed in Denver

I'm not sure what the law will decode on this one.
I'm not sure either side was right.
It depends upon 'stand your ground' local laws.

But either way, spraying someone with mace is not "peaceful" protesting.
I think it would have been a lot smarter to stop spraying especially after the gun was pulled.

RE: Landslide...

Get ready for a William Barr announcement about Biden within a week of the election. doh

I am not convinced that GA, SC nor FL are going to go Biden's way.
I hope so. But, I am not yet convinced of it.
Even if they don't, Biden should win.
If FL goes to Biden, Trump is sunk.
Rally the troops Chat ! applause

John Winston Lennon's Birthday. He would have been 80 today.

The other song mentioned in the blog above was written by him.
And perhaps for several reasons it is the most appropriate for this blog;

John Winston Lennon's Birthday. He would have been 80 today.

Thanks for your comment.
However, just for your information, 'Stand by Me' was written, better performed, and originally recorded by Ben E. King in 1961.
It was not Lennon's music.

RE: Landslide...

Mic - I was wrong about the 3 "branches". You are right. It wasn't that I didn't know it.
I just misspoke. Rather, it's the 3 federal houses/wings of legislature that voters have the ability to vote into office. While the Senate and House are together considered Congress, as one branch, there is separation and they have been at odds with each other. Nonetheless, thanks for correcting me on that. cheers

RE: Landslide...

Even Ted Cruz has warned, that it may be a "bloodbath" the likes that have not been seen since Watergate with republicans losing all 3 branches of government for quite a while. When even "Lying Ted" admits the possibility, it may be time to save face for the Trump cult. Of course, the fully delusional will carry on with the misleading rhetoric complete with excuses and finger pointing, even after the fact. crazy
Naturally it had nothing to do with the election of a lying corrupt conman who had no clue about how to be a national president, let alone a public servant. I mean, who could have seen the worst "so-called" presidency in the history of the USA coming ?
Answer = the majority.
Rather than reel his behavior in, republicans fully supported his lunacy.
Well, it's time to pay the piper and for many republican congress members, the price will be their jobs. Democrats will have a huge opportunity to make real changes to help the American public IF they follow through. Only time will tell.

I couldn't care less what guys do with their hair.
As far as women go, it's not a big deal to me either.
I've never been a fan of short hair on women,
but even that is not a bog deal to me.

(with apologies to Paul McCartney)

When you were young and your heart was an open book
You used to say live and let live
(You know you did, you know you did, you know you did)
But if this ever changing world in which we're living
Makes you give in and cry
Say live and let dye
(Live and let dye)
Live and let dye
(Live and let dye)
What does it matter to you?
When you got a dye job to do
and you do it well.
Live and let dye. laugh

RE: Covid - Ignore Trump idiocy - be afraid, protect yourself and others.

That really brings things back to reality.
Trump has no empathy and no conscience.
No matter who is president, the words of the president influence others.
He has continually influenced others to take horrible actions, which far too often
have caused deaths.

The Infant-in-chief rejects virtual debate

Yes, both false positives and false negative testing can be problematic and another reason that testing needs to be done more than once to verify the determination.

The Infant-in-chief rejects virtual debate

Yes, antibodies remain in the system for a while after the virus is defeated, and more importantly, the reappear more quickly if the same person gets exposed again.

But again, having the antibodies is not the same as not being infected nor being capable of infecting someone else. Instead, tests for the virus itself better determine that possibility. The antibodies appear BEFORE the virus is defeated. They are an early PART of the war against the virus.

The Infant-in-chief rejects virtual debate

Something like that does happen with Chicken Pox.
The virus actually incorporates into one's DNA and can emerge later in life.

However, I am not saying Covid-19 is like that.
I am saying that antibodies are like a first step in the path to eradication of the virus.
The presence of antibodies does not necessarily imply that the virus has already been defeated yet. They signify that an immune response is current, not that it is necessarily complete.

13 right wing nutcases charged in plot to kidnap Michigan Governor Whitman.

The FBI actually have tapes of their meetings in which they planned to do the kidnappings.
