RE: MIFGA … Where have all the fun people gone too?

I think the last post #21 in the perception thread sums it up.

On the 6th Day God Created MANcheter

I enjoyed the time I spent in San Fran, I was only there for eight days though, four days before my trip down to Baja, then four days when I got back. It felt more European than other US cities I've visited in some ways, good memories really.

Too late, the word's out on Time Out...laugh

Anyway, as you know, we're a friendly bunch up here, we'll welcome them with open arms, take their money and send them on their way.

Not quite, Coronation St is just a short walk away ....it really is, just two streets away, so is Penny Lane.

Eat your heart out tomcatty, it's not so grim up north, in fact Manchester is 'the' place to be....laugh

"In fact, Manchester is so cool that it recently scored third place in Time Out’s well respected list of the World’s Best Cities. Yes, there’s a rather generic city centre with the hulking presence of the Arndale Centre, fringed with high street shops - but duck beyond it and you’ll find impossibly chic townhouse hotels, sophisticated sky bars, a charming waterfront quarter and dinners beyond your wildest dreams."

RE: Missing Australian child found

They taped the torture of her, I've just read a transcipt of the tape, it's far too harrowing to post on here. Humanity really does sit on a fine line.

RE: Missing Australian child found

It should have read 'killed her'. I felt I had point that out, the way it read sounded just, I don't know....wrong.....sigh

RE: Missing Australian child found

Strangely enough I dont remember the instance I found out, I guess it was just an age thing. I do remember being really upset when I found out about one of their victims, Lesley Ann Downey. She was just ten years old and was one of my best friends cousin. What those two beasts did to that little girl before they killed was inhuman and caused total outrage around the country but paticularly in my local community.

RE: Missing Australian child found

I was a young newspaper delivery boy at the time. I used to do my round in the morning before school and then in the late afternoon after school. One of my adternoon deliveries were to Hindley's place of work and I always gave the newspaper directly to her. She was always really friendly and would chat to me in a way I found uncomfortable., a bit scary in fact. Like I said, it was some time later after her and Brady were arrested that I realised I had such a close shave.

RE: Do you worry about being too interesting?

But why would you say "I could care less" when you mean the opposite?

RE: Do you worry about being too interesting?

It's a bit like when Americans say, "I could care less, " when they clearly mean they 'couldn't' care less. Why do they say thay?

RE: How would you react if cs was no longer available?

Thats what happened on POF. The forums were really popular but the owners decided they didn't need the hassle of moderating and constantly having to monitor. They just closed the forums down without notice and that was that.
It could easily happen here, the forums are used by a tiny percentage of the total numbers on here. I think that's possibly why we see so little admin intervention these days.

For Karl

Haha, I was making a joke when I said, free speech, one each, as though it was something being given away like a free sample.
But, I think correct speech is more important than the illusion of free speech, because that's all it could ever be, an illusion.
Correct speech, that is words spoken with no intention to cause harm or upset, that's worth more than any amount of free speech imo.

For Karl

Yes he does, i'm just wondering if this one is a bit too 'off the wall' for most on here. The cs twitter seemed to like it though....laugh

For Karl

I'm grateful to the cs twitter person for bringing this video to my attention. I suspect Karl has already seen it., but just in case........laugh

Any other silly videos would be gratefully appreciated....grin

RE: Do you suffer...

I just received my yearly cold weather payment, £140. But to be honest, I'd prefer to live in a warmer climate and forego the £140.

Anyway, seeing as yesterday's monsoon has subsided, I'm off out for a bike ride.

RE: Do you suffer...

I suspect it's the nicotine withdrawal that giving you night sweats, not the herb.
That will ease quite quickly, but the craving for nicotine will last longer. The 'habit' of smoking , I found, hovers around for quite some time.
Good luck, and remember, just one more ciggy will lead to many more...wink

RE: Do you suffer...

Have you stopped smoking taobacco at the same time?

RE: Do you suffer...

It's worth it, if only for the vivid dreams you get after you've stopped...wow
