I'm just out on one of my favourite local rides alongside the upper reaches of the River Mersey...just spotted the first eing neck parakeet of the day. You always hear them before you see them, thay sound like a dogs squeaky toy...
The thread has been more intersting than many on here I think. Thanks for posting c. Anyway, i'm experiencing the true nature of things right now on this lovely sunny day....out on my bike down by the river.
I know what you mean, but he has gone through quite a transformation since then. He's still not everyones cup of tea, I'll grant you that. Speaking of authors, I gues my favourite, or at least the one I have most books by is Bill Bryson. Notes From A Small Island is hilarious and A Short History of Nearly Everything is a masterpiece.
Russell Brand's videos since he 'found himself' are really worth checking out. He posts one almost every day and has a massive following of over 5 million. It's quite normal for his videos to get over half a million views in the firts few hours from being posted.
This is why I was reluctant to get into this debate. Spiritual awaerness cannot successfully be debated, it has to be experienced. Trying to discuss it logically with just push you away from the experience it's suppose to be guiding you towards. As I think I mentioned earlier in the thread, it's futile. You need to take your own journey when the time is right for you....or not. The true nature of all phenomina has to be experienced by way of study and contemplarion.
Aldi or Lidl for me, unless I feel like treating myself, then it's Marks and Spencer, Waitrose or Booths. I like the bargains on the middle aisles in Lidl and Aldi, for instance, I picked up a good quality gel bicycle seat cover from Lidl, £4.99. At least £12.50 anywhere online. Also I like the comprehensive Italian food section at my local Lidl.
I spend a lot of time in Wales, mainly North Wales in the Summer. For me, it has everything, Snowdonia Natinal Park and a wonderful coastline. In fact it was the first country in the world to have a public footpath running the entire lengh of it's coastline, 830 miles in all.
Blue Monday was a bit hit for New Order. I t was one of the few songs that stopped me dead in my tracks when I first heard it. The cover by the choir was recorded at Portmerion Italian village in North Wales. It's a bizzare place which attracts tens of thousands every year. It is bathed by the gulf stream, has beautiful white sands and palm trees. I've sailed round the coast there a few times and driven there.
There may will be. In Millington, a small village in the Yorkshire Wolds I came across an old public phone box that was a .bike repair starion, full of tools and spares for people to help themselves. It always gives me a nice feeling when I come across something like that.
RE: Saki
If you only read one of his books read Notes From a Small Island, I'm sure you'll enjoy it being English and of a certain age.::grin:
